Lunch looks yummy at WPE. We've grown quite fond of it.

Ah yes...Disney Quest. The place I told my kids after the first year closed down because it wasn't successful.

I'm glad you got a chance to go over to Coronado to take a look around, but sorry it was so hot that you didn't get to explore more.

Isn't the Animal Kingdom Lodge breathtaking? I cannot wait until we stay there again next August (this time not just two nights, but seven nights).

I'm glad you enjoyed Boma. We've never eaten there for dinner, only breakfast.

Boma... It is on our must try list for sure! Your pictures confirm that it SHOULD be on the must try list. Thanks for the warning on the long walk! And I will be sure to keep an eye out for snakes too!

So sweet for Jesse and Lacy to decorate your room and have presents for you! That is just awesome!

Honestly, we hadn't really given Boma too much thought before this past trip. We aren't adventurous eaters, per se, but if we are going to try something "different" then it's best to try a buffet. Now, I'm glad that we did and I'd recommend it highly.

The walk seemed like forever and a day. It didn't help that we had no idea where we were going though.

I wondered if that might be the case. When you said your BIL's house was out in the country I wondered if it was more secluded and harder for people to get to. Good for them, it's good to feel protected, especially with all the kiddos.

You can't even see the house or the barn from the highway. If the gate weren't there, you wouldn't have a clue.

I'm so glad you liked BOMA, so many people won't give it a chance because it has some different types of food, but honestly it's one of the best buffets on property, at least in my opinion.
They have a great breakfast buffet too.

We really enjoyed Boma and I'm super glad that we gave it a try. We'll definitely be going back.

Sounds like a really nice dinner! Boma is on the list of places I'm saving until Maddie is a little older, but I've never heard a bad review of the place!

There was plenty for the younger kids to eat too but I'd probably suggest that you hold off for a year or two.

Lacey & Jesse were so sweet to surprise us with the gifts and decorations.

You can imagine my surprise when I walked into the hallway and saw him lying there.

It was long wasn't it!?! In my opinion, a one inch long snake is too long.

HMM Boma looks rather tasty. My DH would be all up on that meat. LOL.

We saw two snakes at CBR 3 weeks ago... YIKES! Within 5 minutes of being there... I read an article where a little boy got bit by a copperhead there a few years ago and the mom was just advising that if you have children, to make sure they stay on the sidewalks and I had just gotten it out of my mouth for the boys to stay close... Landen (2) kept hollering "nake nake" that whole first day. LOL..

I am hoping to start a TR soon too!

All caught up...again! I was "askered" to come over here and I had a right to be, lots of updates! LOVED them. I had read yesterday up to Mama's bright idea, but just now caught up...and what is with you and trips to Disney and SNAKES???? Seems to me I recall an incident in a store at EPCOT!

Did they seat you at the Africa continent table since there were so many of you?? That is near the buffet...the food looked fabulous, I love their carrot ginger soup and zebra domes...I want to eat there!

Poor John and all of his med changes, etc. I am so thankful he can laugh about the difficult times and find the humor. AND you were able to entertain the "neighbors."

What a wonderful evening. I love your story...we have some stories like that too and we laugh so hard when we retell them. Um one like when my dad needed the hotel janitor to hold a flashlight when he was trying to use the bathroom with electricity out.

I LOVE Boma and the AK Resort. I would love to stay there sometime, but it IS far away from things. We have eaten at Boma several times, and it is so much fun to sample all the different foods. We always plan time to walk around while we are there and enjoy the resort and the animals. That poor little ribbon garter snake - I bet you scared him to death!! LOL

I'm glad you got to see Coronado Springs. That is the only moderate we have stayed in, but it was nice. The conventioneer mostly stay in their meetings and out of the way. I just really hate to pay extra money over the budgets when we spend so little time in the room. If we stayed longer, it would be great to have a fancier resort, but I am very happy with Pop Century in the meantime. The All-Stars are okay, and I have stayed in two different ones, but I love Pop. I do aspire to stay in the Polynesian once in my life though!

It is fun to see Hunter growing up and collecting the girls. He reminds me of my 14 year old grandson, who has discovered girls. I get a kick when I pick him up after band camp and see him getting two or three hugs before he leaves!

It is neat hearing all the "behind the scenes" stuff about the Robertsons. Have you tried their new restaurant yet? They have certainly branched out into everything, and they are very smart about it. I think the weekly devotionals that Sadie and her friend do are really a neat thing for a teenager in that family to take on - great way to use their "celebrity" to talk to others about their faith.

I just love hearing about your trips with Mama. She is such a good sport about everything, and keeps up quite well. You are both very lucky to live next to each other. I treasured my years with my Mother when she moved down to live with us.

I am glad you are getting lots of posts in, because you will be taking off soon for Thanksgiving in Tennessee, and then you will have to come back and tell us about that! I am heading over to Houston to my daughter's this week, because I won't see them at Thanksgiving. Hope you have a great trip and a wonderful Thanksgiving, because I probably won't post again before you leave since I will be busy enjoying my grandkids!

Ok, I do think I need to stay away from you. This is the second trip with a snake encounter. I have to tell you, I am terrified of snakes... I don't care how big or long they are. This is my biggest fear in life! I would have been running, dragging the kids by the wrist and never returned! Ya! It's that extreme!

Oh that snake is creepy! But you were at Animal Kingdom lodge lol. Maybe he was one of the Savannah guests? That is how I feel about spiders. I had one on my wall outside recently, it was HUGE! I swear it was the size of a toddler and had a pitchfork and a machete........or it was like a quarter inch big with no lethal weapons and i removed it from my property with a broom, then went inside and locked the door to keep the enemy out. either or.

Based on your descriptions I was able to identify every item on your plate! Looks like it was pretty good! How sweet of Jesse and Lacey to plan a mothers day and fathers day celebration for you all. You have some good kids there!

You have got such a fun family! That story of John in the recliner, LOL! Sounds like something my dh might do. He can fall asleep anywhere also. I would have been in tears from laughing if I woke up and found him like that!

As for the snake, that one didn't look too horrible, but if it was a big one, (like the one you saw in Mousegears that one year), that would have freaked me out.

Boma sounds great. I think my girls are too young to appreciate it just yet, but one year we'll make it there!

Okay, so it wasn’t Big! Huge! Or Gigantic! But it sure did seem like it at the time. After getting a good look at it, the giggles set in all of us. I can’t tell you how many times we retold the story of the snake, how I did the Lindy Hop and how Emily took off running “Because Aunt Lisa is!”. Oh what a fun memory!

ALL snakes are gigantic if you are not expecting them.

About to post replies but wanted to give ya'll an update on my Disney Parks Moms Panel application. I didn't make it to Round 3. I'm okay with that because, as I said in my previous posts, I answered the questions to the best of my ability and in my video, I stayed true to myself. That's all that I could have done. There's always next year!

I've already said that we're going to allow ample time to walk around and see more of the resort next time we eat at Boma. Honey, I am surprised that I didn't stomp all over the snake as much as I was dancing around.

I wouldn't mind staying at the value resorts. It's John that I can't convince. It's not that he's a snob or anything but he thinks that the idea of just one bus stop is "dumb". I don't know why since we stand in the lines at the parks. Oh and he likes the beaches at the CBR.

Haven't tried it yet. It's still new and everybody and their great grandparents are eating there. The restaurant is right beside Academy Sports which is HUGE and there wasn't a single parking place all the way down to Academy. It was ridiculous!

One of Hunter's best friends if one of Sadie's best friends (thus their paths crossing) and he sees her out and about all the time. It's neat to see how down to Earth they all are.

I just love hearing about your trips with Mama. She is such a good sport about everything, and keeps up quite well. You are both very lucky to live next to each other. I treasured my years with my Mother when she moved down to live with us.

My Mama is something else. Yes, we get on each other's nerves but I'm pretty darn sure that we wouldn't trade a second we are with one another.

I am glad you are getting lots of posts in, because you will be taking off soon for Thanksgiving in Tennessee, and then you will have to come back and tell us about that! I am heading over to Houston to my daughter's this week, because I won't see them at Thanksgiving. I'd probably say yeah, hold off a couple of years to go to Boma with younger kids. Although, our nephew who is in grade school really liked it.

Have mercy! I hope that the snake wasn't a savannah guest. You are cracking me up with your description of the spider. We have spiders everywhere. I don't know if they are attracted to the wood in the house or what but I'm always killing them. As a matter of fact, there was one in the bathtub this morning.
