Hope you had a nice holiday, DH and I went to dinner with MIL then went to some friends' house (my SIL's sister's in laws, if that makes sense) and had dessert and they set off some small fireworks. It was fun when we weren't getting eaten alive!

Your dinner at HOB looked yummy! Too bad they couldn't go up in the balloon, I have wanted to try that the last couple trips but I don't think I will get my DH into it!

Hope you had a great Independence Day. Love the update. Neither JJ nor I have ever seen that archway at HoB. Next time we're at Disney Quest we'll have to go check it out. JJ thinks it's pretty creepy though. How wonderful to get that voucher. Your mama sure is a great sport.

I'm caught up! Wow on the rain, but you make a really cute drowned rat. HoB looks good, ok, so the food looks good. Is it loud in there? Maybe when mom and DD and I go next year we can eat there.

You are one busy lady! Sometimes I barely want to do laundry and housework on my days off, not to mention after work! But we too need to get updating our house. We have an empty bedroom and I want to gut it and make an exercise room in it.

Isn't it a great feeling when you complete home projects. Denny and Nick put up new screen and stained our back porch in preparation for Nick's grad party. That and some new porch furniture has really made such a difference. Now if the humidity would only drop low enough to enjoy sitting out there.

I have never eaten at HOB, but I would love to try it. I love Hunter's picture of the Character in Flight Balloon. So sorry they weren't able to ride. I hope they got the chance later. Denny and I went up on the first balloon in the morning and it was spectacular. Plus we got to stay up for 20 minutes instead of the usual 10. Really cool experience.

The food at House of Blues definitely looks yummy!

Characters in Flight is down often, but that is for safety reasons. They can't go up if the wind at the top level is above a certain mph. Even if you don't feel so much as a breeze at ground level there can be a wind up higher and they have to wait for it to go down before they can go up again.

I always use the Marketplace bus stop for that exact reason, it's packed when it gets to Pleasure Island! And I have NEVER had the bus not stop at PI for a shift change. It's crazy.

I wished that I had remembered to take the coupon with us on the first night and tried to go up in the balloon then as it seemed to be running smoothly that evening.

We very rarely use the Pleasure Island stop but I hated to make Mama walk any further than she had to. In the end, we knew that the walk would be worth it.

We've seen the didgeridoo guy before! We were walking at DTD one night and we were so surprised to see it that we had to stop. He is very good! I remember us saying something about the fact that we couldn't believe how weird it was that we were standing there, listening to a guy play didgeridoo, but it was good weird, not weird weird.

There is no way that you would get me up in that balloon. I love to see it at night, but no stinking way.

Can't wait to read more!

I am laughing because we said something similar. It's weird to see this guy standing there playing an instrument that I've only seen in pictures in a far off country. Weird weird....good weird.

Oh I wasn't going up in the balloon! I'll send my youngest and my mother but I ain't going.

Your dinners looked yummy. We might have to try House of Blues next trip. We don't spend a lot of time at DD, maybe once (or sometimes, none at all) each trip. I forget that there are a lot of cool places there.

It took us years and years before we ever ventured to DTD but once we did, we loved it. We try to work in at least two trips there.

We really enjoy it and I'd recommend that you give it a try.

Characters in flight is one thing i WILL do this trip, they have it in Disneyland Paris and everytime were thier i say i want to do it but never do. This florida trip i will be in that balloon. lol.

Be sure to start trying from the time you arrive until you leave. It's often down because of the weather conditions. I hope that you get to go up!

We had a really nice lunch and HOB once, I would like to go there again. I'd also like to go to their Sunday Gospel Brunch, I think that would be fun.

Sounds like a bit more standing and waiting that you might have liked but a very nice evening.

Very odd though that they didn't tell folks what was up with the balloon so people weren't just waiting forever.

The gospel brunch is good and fun. I do like the old version better than the new Kirk Franklin branded version but the food is yummy and the music is great. We were at the first KF brunch this year so hope they work some kinks out.

I have a story to tell and, since you have two boys, I know it won't gross you out. One time when Hunter was little....probably 4 or 5, we were in Downtown Disney. Apparently, there was a little squabble between Lacey and Hunter. Couldn't have been too big or I'd have remembered the specifics. Anyway, we were walking around in one of the stores and I saw something on the back of Lacey's black shirt. I turned her around and there was a big old booger smeared down her back. Seems as if Hunter had gotten back as his big sister for whatever it was that she said to him earlier.

Oh time at the cottage sounds wonderful! We are definitely a busy bunch at our house. Hunter is helping some but John's the type who likes to do things himself so he hasn't assigned him too many things to do.
