1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I had hoped to get an installment posted yesterday but all the sudden the bottom fell out and it was crazy busy! I was just looking at my pictures on Photobucket and it looks like I'm missing some. Thank goodness, I still have my memory cards in my purse so I can search for them and upload them to Photobucket. I'll start doing that on my lunch hour.

John didn't want us to get him anything for Father's Day since we're going to buy a new truck for him soon. But, I couldn't let Father's Day go by and not do something. Hunter and I worked on a "project" Saturday night and this was what we ended up with:

SO cute!!

AWESOME card! I think I saw something like it on pinterest. Very smart! Thought of doing something similar to that with my dad, but instead my family bought him a new flat screen tv. Lol it was a good trade off!

Since the next installment is up yet, I'm going to throw in my guess for what hit John -- He realized he left his cell phone charger plugged into the wall at POFQ.

My dh left his in Orangeburg, SC, on the way down to WDW in April and we picked it up there on the way home.

OMG! That has to be the funniest and yummiest Father's Day card I've ever seen!!!

I am new to the Disboards, but I found your trip report and got hooked. I can't wait to hear more. :woohoo:

It's interesting how different people like different resorts and for different reasons. For example my favorite is PORFQ, it was the first one I stayed at by myself and it's the one I would most want to stay in again.

Well AOA looks great if I go by myself I really don't need a family suite and the mermaid rooms just don't do it for me. So I'm not likely to stay there, maybe a walk around it sometime.

Those headless people in the store were pretty freaky.

It looks like such a pretty boat ride to DTD.

Sorry to hear your dinner wasn't good.

We went to AoA when the only open section was Nemo. So we didn't get to see all the things you did. I got hot just listening to you say how hot it was:crazy2:

What a neat card you made for Fathers day!

I have some big news. We weren't going to Disney this year. Well my mom called a few days ago and told me she is giving me a trip to Disney for River and I for my birthday this month. We leave on the 27th. So I went from no trip this year to doing the single digit dance! 8 more sleeps:goodvibes

So glad I went back to see the pics --I couldn't see them all on my phone earlier this week.

I LOVE this photo of your mom. That has to be hanging on the fridge at home, right?

Your AofA photo tour is great. Katie and I do the "smashed pennies" too (we call them stretchy pennies :rotfl:) everywhere and those look so cute--was that in the AofA lobby?

I can’t remember.....didn’t part of the Cars movie take place in the desert? If so, then they hit the theming in this area of the resort, it right on. You may be able to see in the pictures that there’s simply no shade. Just like in the other part of the resort that we had seen so far. It was hot!

**Continued in next post

LOL I can tell your "baby" is 16...you don't have all the animated movie plots memorized! Yep, Radiator Springs is smack in the middle of the desert, off of old Rte 66, which was bypassed by a big old super highway. (why do I remember this stuff anyway?)

I do hope that the heat didn't effect your mom too much on the rest of the trip. I think that in the parks, there are enough opportunities to cool off on rides, shows & shops that you don't get wandering a resort or walking around downtown Disney.

In case you can't read it:
oh my gosh that is the best father's day card & gift EVER! I bet he loved it, and is still "loving" it a week later!

That Father's Day card is just way too adorable!

:thumbsup2 CUTE card!!!! :)

Adorable card.

That is so cute and he can start on skips for next year now

Love the card..very creative ;). I might have to steal this idea next year

That card is the best! Why are only some people given the creative genes????

Thanks ya'll! I must admit that I saw a similar card on Facebook but we did make it lots bigger and it included more "story" and variety of candies. The "goobers" and "hot dog" were definitely something that made you know that it was designed by our family. :p John thought it was a hit and he's still snacking on it.

I keep typing a little here and there on my report but the boss keeps interrupting me. I swear that he must think I have to work just because he pays me. Whaaaaat?

Welcome to both the Dis and to my trip report! Hope to see you posting a lot!

Thank goodness Disney has so many different resorts to choose from. :thumbsup2

I'm glad that we tried FQ. Had we not, we'd have always wondered whether or not we would like it.

I'm with you on AoA. It's a cute resort but I'm not sure that we'd stay there.

Those headless people in the store were pretty freaky.

Weirdn't they weird looking!

It looks like such a pretty boat ride to DTD.

Definitely a plus on FQ's side.

Sorry to hear your dinner wasn't good.

Just plain old yucky! I just saw another review that complained about the food there.

It was blazing hot that day!

What a neat card you made for Fathers day!

Thank you!

Oh my gosh! I'm sooooo excited for you! Just 8 more sleeps? :hyper:

Not yet but it will be!

The machine is right inside the food court on your left.

I never really got into the Cars movies and can't even remember if I've watched them all the way through.

I do hope that the heat didn't effect your mom too much on the rest of the trip. I think that in the parks, there are enough opportunities to cool off on rides, shows & shops that you don't get wandering a resort or walking around downtown Disney.

Mama did stay at the resort some while we toured the parks but, for the most part, she held up well.

Yep, he's still eating on it now.

I just had to agree with everyone else that the father's day card was Awesome!

Thank you! John really enjoyed it!
