1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Congrats on Round 2, Lisa!!!!

I was at a doctor's appointment when all of the excitement went down and by the time I could try to log in, the message was up about it being later this week, so I get to wait until Friday to hear the yes or no. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that or not. :lmao:

The thing I wish I would have done different for my video last year was to have more fun with it. I thought my essay answers showed a lot of personality, but I was very nervous when I did my video and it didn't seem natural. I'd love to get another chance, but I think I'm okay if I don't. Or at least I'll fake it until I make it.

Congrats on making it to the second round! I can't think of anyone more suited to the job. You'd be amazing at it.

I hope things work out for Hunters school. If you do any small scale fundraisers let me know, I'd be happy to donate something I've made (just got an embroidery machine-I'd love to use it more ;) )

I wondered if you had made it to Round 2 and, in my excitement, I forgot to send you a message. I'm betting that you were nervous making the video. I am going to be! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that you are moving on to the second round.

That was the most electrifying 20 minutes of my entire life!

The crowds on Main Street had thinned out some but it was still really busy. It was almost time for another showing of the Main Street Electrical Parade so we looked around to see if we could find a place to sit and wait for it to start. We wiggled our way over to the roped off area in front of The Emporium and found a place large enough for us to sit on the pavement and wait it out. We were, literally, sitting on the pavement with the rope right in front of us. In front of us and a little to the right was City Hall, to our left was the circle in front of the train station and to our right, just a little ways down was where the gates would open and the parade floats would come out.

People started smooshing in behind and around us and it got a little tight but everybody was nice which was a plus since I’ve been in parade crowds with the pushy rude people before. :sad2: Soon, the lights were dimmed and the music was piped in and Tinkerbell came out to greet us! :tink:

I’m going to stop talking and let the pictures tell the story.

Mickey! Oh I forgot, I’m supposed to have buttoned my lip.

**Continued in next post

So, I can’t keep my mouth shut for long. You can see that it was hard for me to get pictures of the characters on top of the floats. That’s because we were so close and low to the ground.

I would sooooo love to be one of the stepsisters! I’d be perfect for the part....they are funny/I am funny, :p they think they can dance/I think I can dance, :dance3: they can’t keep their mouths shut/I can’t keep my mouth shut. :mic: See, I’d be perfect at it! :teeth: Actually, I may have to take that back. I don't think I could be mean to anybody but they aren't really mean to any of the guests at WDW, so I'll stick with the plan that I wanna be one someday. :thumbsup2

Gotta say something else....this picture shows how close we were to the parade entrance:

The ladies dressed in the patriotic uniforms marched out and stopped right beside us. Each and every one of them stopped to tell Hunter Happy Birthday: :cake:

I have no idea why I felt the need to snap a picture of their shoes:

We’ve watched the parade from this area a few times and, other than the fact that you get a neck ache from looking up, it’s a great place to view the parade. We stood up to stretch our legs and I went over and took a peek down Main Street :crazy2::

Yikes! No way were we trying to go down Main Street just yet. We took a bathroom break and then let the crowds die down a bit before we moved on.

**Up next: Who wants to join the giant slumber party?

Thank you for the congrats and on the offer! We haven't heard another word about fundraising so I'm thinking that they are leaving it all up to us as individuals. I'm jealous of your embroidery machine.....I WANT ONE SO BAD!

We have sat there too...a massage is needed for the neck after that.

Considering how low you were, you got some terrific pictures. I get a little sad every time that I think we missed the parade again this year. :(

It does make you have a neck ache after looking up for so long.

It's odd that I never want to miss the night time parades but I don't mind missing the afternoon ones. :confused3

eat pictures and you sure were close to the action. But if I ever got down to the pavement, I wouldn't get up with my arthritic knees. What time was this parade that it was still so crowded?

We were very close. Girl, the pavement was tough on these buns.

The parade had to have been around 1 a.m. since I was at the CBR bus stop around Midnight.

Congrats on making it to round 2, I'm so glad I didn't have to make a video my year (well except the official one at Epcot which was scary to shoot :rotfl2: ) Just be yourself and you'll do great :goodvibes

It looked like you had a fantastic spot for the parade and I love your photos :)

Thank you! I appreciate the advise on the video. I guess I'll just do what I do best......talk about Disney. :rotfl:

We had a great spot to watch the parade. It was super close and the characters interacted with us a lot.

Ya'll sitting down? No? Well sit down and then I'll tell ya something. How 'bout now? Okay, so the reason I had ya'll sit down was this.....I have another installment written and ready to post. Yep, two of them in the same day. See I told you that you needed to be sitting down. Didn't want ya'll to go bumping your noggins when you fainted and fell out. :lmao: I'll be posting it in just a second or two.

Who wants to join the giant slumber party?

We waited until some of the guests had filtered off Main Street and started making our way towards Tomorrowland. Our first stop was The Laugh Floor where John saw the love of his life...Roz:

I mean, seriously, who wouldnt love a monster like her....those lips, that grassy green complection, the not-so-Cindy Crawford mole, those cat eye glasses, that raspy voice. Whats not to love? :lovestruc

The show was, as always, cute and entertaining and we succeeded in filling up the laugh tanks and saved the world! Oh wait, is saving the world part of that show or just filling the laugh tanks? :confused3 No matter, Im going to say that we saved the whole gosh darn world! Yay us! :cheer2:

Even though I dont have pictures (I apparently wasnt in the picture taking mode at the time.), I know that we went on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin again. Knowing what I know about my target shootin skills, the boys beat me by a mile.

After Buzz, we walked on over to Space Mountain and, on the way, we saw this:

No, your eyes arent deceiving you, all those people are lying down watching a movie. Disney had rolled out the red carpet for them too. Actually, the carpet was blue but it was a carpet/blanket nevertheless. It was a giant slumber/movie party!

I dont know that I would be all that comfortable lying down on a carpet that others had walked all over. But, as you can see from the pictures, others didnt share my sentiments.

Oh, wanna know what movie they were playing?

Monsters, Inc.! :sulley:

As we neared Space Mountain, we could see the line snaked all the way out of the building but the standby line clock said that it wasnt that long of a wait. John told Hunter and I to go ahead and hed wait for us and people watch. He used to ride it but now says that it hurts his back with all the jerking and jarring. Hes getting old and falling apart, I tell ya. :p

After our ride through the galaxy, we hopped on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and my pictures turned out so badly that I am not even going to post the blurry, sloppy things. Weve always like the Tomorrowland Transit Authority even though theres really nothing special about it. Its neat to look down at the people and see across the park and tonight was no different. There were people everywhere and it was now way into the next morning.

Once we had made the loop around Tomorrowland, we stopped at the snack stand to get something to drink and John some coffee. This 24 hours in the park business was hard work and we had worked up a thirst. The men stood in line while I found a teeny tiny space on the concrete ledge to prop up on and did a little people watching myself.

One of the castmembers who was sweeping and picking up trash stopped and asked where I was from, was this our first trip, etc. I asked if he had ever seen the park that busy that late at night, I mean morning, and he said that he had never seen guests in the park at that time of the morning other than on holidays when Disney extended the park hours. He said that even then, it hadnt seemed as crowded as it was now. We chatted for a few more minutes and then he got back to work.

Of course, I couldnt just sit there and do nothing so I took pictures:

The lines at The Lunching Pad were looooong:

I spied a small table open up and I moved over to it to give my aching behind a break. I asked a grandmother who was pushing two sleeping grandchildren in a stroller if shed like to sit at the table with me. She thanked me and we started talking. She and her family lived a few hours away and had come specifically for the 24 hours in the Magic Kingdom. From the looks of the children (and her), they were pooped. She said that they had a room booked offsite and would be going home after resting up the next day. Considering the time, that was a good idea.

The guys returned with our frozen Cokes and Johns coffee after standing in line for about 30 minutes. John and Hunter said hello to the grandmother and then walked over towards Stitchs Great Escape while sipping our drinks. We knew that we couldnt go into any attraction with our beverages so we stopped near the exit of The Laugh Floor so we could finish up.

Remember when I said that we waited until people filtered off Main Street? I think they all filtered over to Tomorrowland. We found a little concrete ledge to sit on and watched all of the people walk continue to walk by:

Our view:

I decided to take a video to document how many people there were. I apologize that the video is sideways but I cant figure out how to flip it around on Photobucket:

You can see that there was a steady stream of people still filtering into and out of Tomorrowland. I would imagine thats exactly what it looked like in the other parts of the park. Yowza! :crazy2:

Despite the fact that John absolutely abhors Stitch, he agreed to see Stitchs Great Escape and we zigzagged our way through the people to the line. Almost immediately after we passed through the turnstile, the doors opened and we were let into the pre-preshow area. We watched the little film and then went into the pre-show area where the poor guard or whatever he is called oiled himself. Bless his robotic heart. :rotfl:

After being jumped, spit and burped on by a little blue alien who escaped to Flor-I-Da, we walked out into the still crowded park. John needed another coffee and we were surprised to see a little vending cart over to the side and the castmember was selling drinks and coffee. I wonder if it were there before?

**Up next: Were gonna boogie oogie oogie like we just cant boogie no more!

You are an updating fool today.

That's a heck of a lot of people and I know Mark would be hitting the exit immediately. That's kind of cool that they set up a movie for people to watch. I wonder how many of them fell asleep laying there (I know I would have)?

Mark's with John (and me)...Space Mountain is just too jerky for this aging body.
