1 College Grad, 2 Days IOA & 6 Days With Mickey. New TR Started!!

Firstly Angie is in my prayers !!!
Now those sanddals look AWESOME I have to check them out !!! They look like something I could use !!!!!

Thank you Rosie:hug:. Today was a LONG emotional day but we all got through it & Alex was amazing. He read a 7 page speech that he wrote himself & we were so proud of him. He grew up overnight.

It is so cold here I have not had a chance to wear the new sandals too much. I think it was only in the 30's here today. Hopefully it will warm up SOON & I can break them in.

I have had very little DIS time this week. I am sorry to hear about your friend. In the past few years, I have watched several young people lose their parents - most of them were the dads. They are making it, but they miss them terribly. We know that good men step up and try to fill the void somewhat and be there for these kids as much as they can. There is really no way to know what they feel, though, losing a parent so young and at such a vulnerable time in their lives. My thoughts and prayers are with your friends and all those who are helping them through this.

Evening Doreen !!I bet you are so proud of Alex!!It must have been a tough day!!

Hi Rosie. Very proud of Alex. It was a tough day & now it is behind us. Now I need to be there for Angie.

They are making it, but they miss them terribly. We know that good men step up and try to fill the void somewhat and be there for these kids as much as they can. Thank you MeMom:hug:. Angie has a close family & so many friends that they will have lots of support. Alex has uncles, coaches & lots of friends. I cannot tell them how it feels either & cannot even begin to imagine. We just have to be there the best we can. We plan on attending some of Alex's baseball games this Spring. He was the only Sophomore to make the Varsity baseball team this year. He is an outstanding catcher. All he wants now is to make his father proud.

Ok so I left off with our ADR plans. In Nov. when we hit our 6 month mark I went online & booked our ADR's. I had mentioned that Ryan wanted LeCellier & Crystal Palace. The original ADR's looked like this:

Crystal Palace 8:05 am
Teppan Edo 6:10 pm
LeCellier 2:50 pm
Yak & Yeti 11:30 am
Mama Melroses 12:15 pm
Chef's De France 1:00 pm

Of course I changed my mind & some of these have since been changed. I tend to be a creature of habit & when I like to eat someplace I usually go back again & again. All of these places my DH & I have eaten at & there were no new places on the list & most of the ADR's were for lunch & DH rather have a sit down dinner so I changed a few things around.

We are on the regular dining plan so I planned a late lunch for LeCellier so we would only use one credit. I wanted to bring Ryan & Cody to Teppan Edo so that stayed the same as did Crystal Palace for 8:05 on a 9:00 am MK opening. The two ADR's I changed were Mama Melrose's & Chef's. We decided that we would have dinner at Mama's instead of lunch so we are eating at 4:15 there. So that leaves Chef's. We have all eaten there before & I do like it there but wanted to try the new Via Napoli and decided to go for dinner instead of lunch. Soooo this is now how it looks:

Crystal Palace 8:05 am
Teppan Edo 6:10 pm
LeCellier 2:50 pm
Yak & Yeti 11:30 am
Mama Melroses 4:15 pm
Via Napoli 4:30 pm

I like beating the crowds & having dinner a little earlier in the night. Then I have an excuse to sneak in a snack in the evening.:rolleyes1

Last night when I was having trouble sleeping I was thinking about how much we enjoyed eating at Narcoosees last year. The boys have not eaten there & I know they would enjoy it so my mind was going & I thought we could maybe cancel Yak & Yeti and eat at Flame Tree BBQ. I love eating there down by the water & then we could pay OOP for Via Napoli so I figured I would run it by DH this morning. Well DH reminded me that it took a LONG time when we did eat at Narcoosess last year. It was like a 2 hour meal & Ryan & Cody would not want to take that much time. He is right about that so we are leaving things the way they are. DH said when it is just the 2 of us again we can go back to Narcoosees.

Your ADRs look great! :thumbsup2 We tend to be creatures of habit too... I think you'll enjoy Via Napoli. Laura & I ate there last fall shortly after it opened. I just heard they are testing out a "by the slice" take out option for the next month or so - I hope it sticks & we can grab a slide in November. There's nothing there that Alex will eat so I don't want to make an ADR to eat there.

I hope your weekend went OK.

Great ADRS!!!!!!

You will for sure be eating well all week :) When my brother and I ate at Yachtsman it took about that long as well! You can look forward to eating there when your DS's are older :)

Doreen, you've got some great choices there. We LOVE LeCellier, CP (breakfast only), Mama Melrose & Yak & Yeti. We've not done Teppan Edo or Via Napoli, although we do have Via Napoli on the list for September.

Teppon Edo was the first one Kyle requested , followed by the 2 girls so that was a definate !!I still have to try Via Napoli sometime too!!!I think on a solo trip or maybe a Freebie one !!!

Hi everyone. What an emotional few days.:sad1:I am taking tomorrow off & the services are on Saturday. I spent a few hours at Angie's yesterday & a little bit today. They are doing as well as can be expected. Thank you all for your thoughts & prayers. I told Angie there are many people praying for them that they do not even know. Rich was the "life of the party" kind of guy & will be missed by SO many people. Ok enough with the sad stuff...
You are all still in my thoughts and prayers!
I didn't take any pictures of my DH sneakers because they are just boring white sneakers & also a pair of black ones.:) He likes to wear white ones during the day & black ones for night. Don't ask me why:rolleyes1
This makes perfect sense! Just as much as "never wear white after Labor Day" or whatever that rule is.....

Looks like some really good choices. I'm not as excited about trying Via Napoli as so many others seem to be. After our experience at Tutto Italia, if we plan to eat in Italy again, I'm pretty sure a return there will be met with :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

:woohoo: for already thinking about a return trip!!!

I'm joining!! My graduation trip in 2007 was to WDW so it will be nice to relive this!! My bro is also working at Universal so it will be nice to hear how it is since I've never been there! We're hoping to stay at FQ in June for a few nights (Vero Beach for a few too). We just got back on Monday from FQ and LOVED the new upgrades and I'm sure you will too!!!!

So sorry I missed this post:eek: Welcome!! Your brother works at Universal???? Wow that is great. I wonder if he will be there when we go on the 22nd & 23rd. I cannot wait to see the updates to FQ. It will be nice to have queen beds. The boys are very happy about this since they have to share a bed.

Thanks Amy. I think we will enjoy Via Napoli. The only one that might not would be Ryan as he only eats Pizza Hut pizza. He is very picky about his pizza. I think the "by the slice" would be a very popular option.

I am very glad the weekend is over. Wow I do not find myself saying that very often.

Great ADRS!!!!!!

Yes we always eat well when we are there. I think that is why my DH loves going so much.;) Yes it was a long meal. Actually our sons are 22 & 18 but of course they rather spend their time in the parks than spend a lot of time eating.

I just love CP for breakfast. What a way to start the day at MK:cloud9:. Mama Melrose is our favorite at DHS & Yak & Yeti was a first for DH & I last year on our anniversary trip. We had a window view & saw the parade (sort of) except for the big rock:

I will try & take lots of pics while we are there.

Great ADRs! Via Napoli is one of the ones I am most excited to eat at someday! :goodvibes

That is where we are eating on our last night. The plan was to head to MK & meet a certain wonderful family after. Hopefully we WILL meet up someday.

You are all still in my thoughts and prayers!

Thanks Marv. We have been to Tutto twice & absolutely love it there. So many places & not enough time!!

Marv I am ALWAYS thinking about a return trip:rotfl: Next year Cody will be graduating high school so we hope to go for 10 days like we did when Ryan graduated high school. Have to do the same for both right????

Well I will be late for work if I don't get a move on...

Have a great day everyone.

You have some great ADR's. I didn't realize LeCellier was 1 table credit for lunch. I need to go back and revisit that. I didn't book it this time thinking it was 2 credits for lunch and dinner.

Yes Erika it is just one credit for lunch. I made sure to ask a CM when I called to see if I might possibly have a free dining pin code attached to my name but no luck. However she did reassure me that for lunch it is one credit.

Hope you don't mind but I'm joining!! :wave2:

We are planning a trip for Next Feb (Wayyy to far away!:sad2:) It's going to be My cousin, Her two kids, my BF, and Me. BF is dying to go to universal because he has never been so we are going for two days as well. Can't wait to hear how everything turns out!

Of course I do not mind you joining. The more the merrier!! Welcome!!

I know it seems like a long time away but before you know it you will be getting ready to go. I am looking forward to Universal as we have never been to IOA so it will be new for us.

Are you planning on staying onsite?

I have been to IOA and Universal about 6-7 years ago. We did each in a day so I'm thinking that will be the same this time around. BF really wants to go because he has never been so this was our deal, he would come back to WDW if we could also do Universal.

We haven't made any set plans yet, and won't until the package comes out in August. I know my cousin and her kids plan on staying on site at WDW in ASMu. We were going to try to get ajoining rooms or at least near one another. I don't know if that would work out if BF and I were to do a night at Universal. The perks of staying at Universal sound almost worth it though so we may end up doing that. Last time I went we stayed at HRH and it was AWESOME. :thumbsup2

So I am really looking forward to hear your plans and maybe take a few tips and pointers.:woohoo:

Ok I'm here and I'm caught up! I can understand just wanted to spend your time at Disney.. but Universal is pretty amazing too. I've only went once with my parents when we were little and we've always wanted to go back. My parents even mentioned that they wish we could go one day.. we might but its not in the plans..

and Congrats on the Graduation- I bet he is very happy!

Sorry about your friend who passed away.. I hope that things are getting a little better.

I love trip shopping! I still have a lot of that to do.. and it feels like I'm running out of time.. which reminds me I need to make a list.. hehe:lmao:
