1 College Grad, 2 Days IOA & 6 Days With Mickey. New TR Started!!

I have been to IOA and Universal about 6-7 years ago. We did each in a day so I'm thinking that will be the same this time around. BF really wants to go because he has never been so this was our deal, he would come back to WDW if we could also do Universal.

We haven't made any set plans yet, and won't until the package comes out in August. I know my cousin and her kids plan on staying on site at WDW in ASMu. We were going to try to get ajoining rooms or at least near one another. I don't know if that would work out if BF and I were to do a night at Universal. The perks of staying at Universal sound almost worth it though so we may end up doing that. Last time I went we stayed at HRH and it was AWESOME.

So I am really looking forward to hear your plans and maybe take a few tips and pointers.

If you will be staying at WDW you could always pay for the Express pass for the day for Universal. If it's not a busy time of year you may not even need to do that.

Ok I'm here and I'm caught up! I can understand just wanted to spend your time at Disney.. but Universal is pretty amazing too. I've only went once with my parents when we were little and we've always wanted to go back. My parents even mentioned that they wish we could go one day.. we might but its not in the plans..

Hi Jen. I am excited about Universal (even though it is NOT Disney). It is something different & we will be on vacation so all will be good.

Yes Ryan is very happy. He got his cap & gown the other day.

I got some shorts the other day that I ordered online. One pair fit & the other I have to return (and get 1 size up. They run small.

Yes Erika it is just one credit for lunch. I made sure to ask a CM when I called to see if I might possibly have a free dining pin code attached to my name but no luck. However she did reassure me that for lunch it is one credit.

This is great news! Now I have to go back and rework some ADRS. DH will be very happy.

Well as I sit here we are getting dumped with heavy wet snow. They say we will get 6-12 inches. Schools have been closed. I am leaving soon for work but I can officially say.......

Will your cellar flood? Everyone in the neighborhood has some kind of pump in their cellars & ours pumps out to our backyard but not when we do not have electricity. I keep saying we will buy a battery back up but we haven't yet.

Hi Jackie I know we can't believe we are getting snow either!! We got about 5 inches & hopefully they are saying temps are suppose to go up a little this weekend so hopefully it will be all gone by Monday.

So on to our proud Mom & Dad moment:

Cody has taken French since Freshman year & has done very well. So this year (Junior) he was asked to be inducted into the French Honor Society. This past Wednesday night they had the ceremony at the high school. It lasted all of 20 minutes but it was cute. You have to maintain a 90 average & now the fund raisers & volunteer work starts.

I mentioned to him that he could go to the Humane Society & volunteer. They are located in the town over from us. Although if he does that he will want to bring all the cats & dogs home with him!! I would be the same way. We already have a cat that cannot stand other cats & hisses at them through our windows at home. I would love to at least have one more but not while Willow is here.

So anyway Jeff & I were sitting in the 2nd row of the auditorium & I was video taping parts of the ceremony. I think I looked happier than Cody did It was a nice honor & we are proud parents.

I have to go eat dinner but I will be back sometime this weekend with more trip plans.

Our basement will flood if we aren't careful but we have a generator so we'll be OK. It's just a pain to keep it gassed up & a pain to move it from our garage to the back yard, plus I've only ever hooked it up once by myself and I'm in no hurry to try it again.

I am glad you didn't loose power. Some here did across town. Yeah we keep saying we need a generator but we have not gotten one yet. We usually are pretty lucky when we do loose power it is not for very long.

I thought I would show you my fancy schmanzy binder

It is a notebook I bought at Walmart years ago. The pages are perforated on the sides so they come out. After each trip I tear them out. I decorated the notebook with Disney stickers. The inside cover has a pocket that I keep these in:

These are my colored index cards that I have for each day of our trip. I have the park hours, parade hours, our ADR's for each day. I also have an index card with all the phone #'s for airline, resort, limo service, reservations, dining, & on the back I have doctors, dentist, & any dissers # that we will be meeting up with. This year I have a Universal card with suggested restaraunts, ADR # & Universal Park hours. Then I have a card that has the days & hours that Off Kilter & British Invasion are playing.

In the notebook I have our reservations #, costs of everthing, flight info, transportation conf. #'s, etc. I will also write my trip notes in it.

See I told you it was fancy. It works for me. It is small & travels well. I know some people get the passporter. I did that one year but it is way too bulky for me. I like just carrying an index card or two.

Great update! Congrats to DS!!! I just bought a cute little Alice in Wonderland Journal at Target for $1 I'll probably use that to take notes when we go on our trip in June. I can't wait to hear what you think about Universal! I'm getting excited to go there even if it's just for a day. Since my brother is a TM there (Harry Potter area), he will know the ins and outs and hopefully we won't need to buy the Express Pass even though it will be June!

I can't recall, are you guys getting the dining plan there? We're considering it but haven't fully decided but it looks like if you want a beverage you have to buy a refillable cup that comes with 12 refills a day. Since we won't have to pay for a park ticket, we thought about doing the meal plan!

No we are not getting the dining plan at Universal. I figured we would eat lunch in IOA & then dinner at Margaritaville then grab breakfast at HRH the next morning before going back to IOA. That's great that you can get some pointers from your brother. I am sure that will be a huge help & then you won't need to spend the extra money on the express passes. From what I have heard if you want to go to HP you need to get there first thing in the morning.

Thanks! When I lived in Orlando/Worked at WDW, my friends and I would eat at Margaritaville pretty often and always enjoyed the meal. They had a meal/movie ticket for $25 which was a great deal!

Bro works at the Harry Potter ride so that won't be an issue
