We have 2 little ones and have gotten studios on our 3 trips on points at WDW. We have a great time. They are good little sleepers and fall asleep without any problems. In a 1 bedroom you would still need to put your 4 year old on the sofa coach eventually. When staying at Residence Inns we used to put our older child 2 to 4 years down in the bedroom and move him later after we retired for the evening we would move him to the sleeper in the main room. If you have an agreeable little boy I would save the points and go with the studio. Our vacation is made by the interaction of our little family not the size of the accommodations. When we need a larger unit ie., 2 bedroom due to traveling with grandparents we do so. The fact that the 1 bedroom has a king instead of a queen offers very little to us over a studio with its 2 queens or 1 queen and a sleeper sofa. We ask to be near a pool so we are close to the laundry facilities. Have a great trip.
