I have been on the wait list to upgrade from a family ocean view concierge suite to a 1 bedroom and the call came through. The room available is 12526 and I am concerned that it is located across from the elevators and would be quite noisy. It is quite a bit more expensive and I want to ensure it is worth it. Any comments/suggestions? I have to decide by tomorrow morning.

We have been on both Magic and Wonder in 8532, which sounds like the location on the Fantasy that you are describing. Never once did we hear outside noise from the elevator. We love concierge!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Have you stayed in a family ocean view room vs a 1 bedroom suite? It will be our first trip and I'm trying to figure out how much time we will really be in the room. We have 2 kids with us and will be on the Eastern Caribbean route so 3 days at sea. Now I think we might want the extra space.

The stateroom reports for the Dream report that the room location is quiet. I would go for it. Any Cat T on deck 12 is awesome. The second bathroom is awesome as well as the ability to order room service dinner from the rotational restaurants. IMO, go for it!

I say upgrade, especially for a 7 night. We have done the Dream twice and had the Cat T. It is so fabulous. So much space !!! I know it's $$$$$ but I think you will love it !

We were in 12022 on the Dream which is pretty much right off the elevator/stair lobby and had absolutely no problem with any noise. Keep in mind that there isn't a lot of foot traffic going to/from this part of the 12th deck. Pretty much just other concierge guests.

I have been been in cabin 12526 on the Dream. I never ran into any issues with noise. I have stayed in Cat V, T and R on the newer ships.
The Cat T. is a very nice to have I would not call it absolutely needed even with two kids. If they need afternoon naps they could use the main bed while you watch TV on the couch or sit on the veranda in a Cat. V. Also if you don't have anything planned you could use the lounge as a play area too. They have toys for the kids and videos playing all day there. Honestly there are so many things to do you will not need to worry about downtime unless you plan it to rest the kids up.

We have stayed in 12524 and 12024 on the Fantasy. Both of these rooms are are the closest to the elevators/opening to the doorway. We never had any issues with noise from the elevators except when people late at night would ring the door bell and run away. For some reason though, we did hear more noise from above the room when we stayed in 12024. Never heard that with 12524.

I have done both the one bedroom and family with veranda. I also wanted to book the 1 bedroom for our cruise in July, but I am telling you, it is not worth $8000 more. I LOVED the 1 bedroom, my husband loved the one bedroom, but it is not worth $8000 more for 1 week.

My husband tells me it is all relative to what you have, so if you can afford it and this is not a lot of money to you, totally book it.

We had 12012 on Fantasy, fantastic room, no noise at all, easy access to concierge lounge.

That somewhat depends on your style. If you're the type that just wants to relax while on board you'll spend more time in the room than if you want to see/do everything.
