1 and 2 day ticket prices - OUCH!

tickets arent encoded with the biometric scan data until the first use at a park after Jan 05. So tickets from prior to jan 05 and not used since jan 05 , while it says on them aren't transferrable arent encoded in anyway (other than name and signature which generally aren't checked) until the first time they are used after Jan 05. Tickets are not coded at purchase but when they are first used. SO it doesnt matter who purchasses them but who first uses them. AND all tickets are finger scanned on entrance..it can slow entrance down but it isnt terrible when thinks go smooth it isnt much slower than used to be..you stick in your card stick in your fingers and walk through....it often took a few tries though cause even being the same person you still have to put your fingers in just right for it to look the same. Children are not scanned but there have been differing reports of at what age they start scanning. my 4 and 6 werent most say the children werent but some say even their quite young child was scanned. my 6 year old kept sticking her fingers in and the cm's never said anything just that it wasnt necessary.

Ther person who got in using the sisters pass - I believe someone commented at some point but not sure if it is true or what that tickets bought at the same time or used for the first time together or something were somehow linked. Meaning that it often happens that a group travelling together gets the cards mixed up so any of the tickets will work for any of them. I'm not sure of any specifics about this but suspect it may have to do with why you got in.

For our AP we had our finger print done, I was not aware of the changing of the system to all passes! If that is the case, it must take forever to get into the parks on crowded day

Obviously if they fingerprint everyone for every ticket we cannot move forward with our plan however I need to confirm this.

Here is the thing about staying longer etc... I am staying longer I am going on "DISNEY" cruise - no perks or discounts for that! While I know it is cheaper in the long run to buy a 7 day I don't want to do it especially since in all liklihood we will not be there in the next year or so and I could use that money elsewhere. Disney doesn't pay interest where as the bank does so we need to keep that money where it is most lucrative for us!

I know we are in the same boat as many, we are just trying to "HAVE IT ALL!

Also, to be honest, I would pay the $63 for Sea World because we haven't been there with the kids yet and they will love it, however we are travelling with friends of our kids and they will be doing WDW and I think to not do it with them on our first day of vacation together would be unfair to them!

So it looks like "only if they fingerprint" - I need to pick up a few more nursing visits  and make more cash before May! Thanks for the feedback.

I am one unhappy DISer tonight , I thought I was all set!

I understand that your money makes interest while sitting in a bank account , but seriously how much interest can you make (a few cents a month?) Anyways think of it this way.... if you buy the 7 day pass with no exp you are locking in those days at the rate they are at now...you may not go to the parks next year but lets say you go the year after that, at the rate the price increases are going you may end up paying $10 - $20 MORE per ticket later on, so in a way Disnay IS making you money (or atleast SAVING your money)

"for the record I know it is not LEGALLY DISNEY" but come on $75/day :confused3
Sorry, but even that rationalization doesn't fly. I recommend you buy a multi-day pass with the expiration option. That's the offering that Disney makes available for folks in your circumstance.

We wanted a 3 day pass but I would not pay that much $ for 3 days. My hubbie said that this this is our last WDW trip for a while because he wants a carribean vacation. I ended up buying a 10 day premium non-expiry passes. $1400 later  :crazy2: :scared:  We will get 3 vacations out of these passes and it also insures that I get another WDW fix. :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

I was so disgusted with Disney prices this year that I decided to give Universal a try.

My family of FIVE can do five days at Universal for right at $300.00

The same days at Disney (with hoppers) would be over $1000.00

We are going in November and can't wait to see how we like Universal/IOA.
I actually thought about doing this also, however my kids are little and Universal isn't geared towards little ones as much as Disney is. I really enjoy Universal - hope you and your family do to. What a difference in price!
