Just read it one Snopes, so it must be true. Oh, how I wish I had one near me! Hope some of you get to enjoy this.

Thanks! Just found this on their site. Any excuse to eat there.:)

The Cheesecake Factory Serves Up a Delicious 30th Anniversary Celebration!
Celebrating “30 Delicious Years,” The Cheesecake Factory is serving up several sweet initiatives throughout 2008.

To kick-off the anniversary celebration and in commemoration of National Cheesecake Day on July 30th, 2008, The Cheesecake Factory restaurants will offer every delicious slice of its more than 30 varieties of cheesecake with a dollop of nostalgia by featuring all cheesecakes at $1.50 per slice, limit one per guest, dine in only, on that day—as they were when the restaurant first opened in 1978.

In addition, a special, limited edition cheesecake, the 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cake Cheesecake, will be introduced on July 30th with $0.25 from the sale of each slice sold this year benefiting the national hunger-relief organization, America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network. Additional activities will be announced throughout the year.

I think Ds and I will go there for lunch. Always game for free dessert and charitable donation! Thanks for the head's up.

Yep, we ate at one in Atlanta on Friday and the server made sure we knew about the $1.50 special for the 30th. Too bad it's a 90 minute drive to the closest one!

What does "dine in only" really mean? It is just that the offer does not apply to "take out", or that you need to order a meal to get the $1.50 cheesecake?

While no one in my family eats cheesecake, I know hanging my head in shame, I am thinking about going to the Cheesecake Factory for the first time next week for my bday. Any suggestions on the menu and "other" desserts?

Thanks!

Godiva Browine Sundae or there is a cake whose name eludes me right now it has like a million calories and is chocolate ...not just plain chocolate cake though.

I have 3 Cheesecake Factory Restaurants near me....they are ALWAYS crowded (no matter when) like a 60 min wait. I cannot even imagine how bad it will be with 1.50 cheesecake! While they will have all 30 varieties I think the pieces will be much smaller to help keep from running out AND lots of people will just go in for dessert and coffee making it a server's nightmare!
That said I would love to go but I will be in Williamsburg.

I was hoping it was takeout, too but no.... :(

The two near me are almost IMPOSSIBLE to get into on a normal day. I can't imagine what it'll be like tomorrow... :scared1:
