OK, I tried to avoid it, I tried to stay away, I didn't want to obsess. BUT...seeing as how I just PURCHASED something for the FE exchange, I guess I should officially JOIN the FE exchange :lmao:

We are Chuck, Linda, Stephanie (11), Tommy (9) and Kevin (6) and we are in rooms 2624 and 2622. I'm not sure which door the FE will hang from, we'll have to decide once we get on the ship.

Hope it's not too late. Thanks!!

Thank heavens! We thought you'd never join!

We haven't booked any excursions yet. I know, we are kinda pushing our luck as to what kind of excursions are still available. But, we are all about relaxing on this cruise. If we don't get a specific excursion, thats ok. We were looking into Xcaret in Cozumel but I'm not sure if its worth the hassle to go all that way for just a few short hours. Anyone?? The 3 reef snorkel in Cozumel looks cool too! :goodvibes

Yay! Happy to have you join us. :cool1:

OK, I know there are no "rules" for FE, but it's ok if we don't get everyone the same thing, right? Especially since our cruise is close to the holidays, I hope if I will find good stuff on post-xmas shopping, however I have already started getting stuff...:)

I don't think that would be a problem. Like you said there are no rules just do whatever feels right for you. This should be a pleasant experience on your vacation, nothing should stress you out or feel like work.

hey there,

I just noticed the dates of your past cruises; all January! How was your weather? Rain, water temp, any experience to report?

Well thanks for having us in the FE exchange. Steph is completely over-the-top excited about it.

Can I make one small request? Can we add usernames on the list next to the families? It may help get to "know" people and who we are delivering to. Some are obvious but many are not. Thanks!

Well our past cruises were the Eastern, but I can tell you what I remember. The weather was great usually between 75-80 degrees once we got in the Carribean. We were able to swim at all the ports with no problem the water was very warm and air temp was wonderful, with the exception of Castaway Cay. Our first year the air temp. was warm and sunny, but the water was quite cool. Last year on Castaway Cay the weather was bad, rainy and cold. If I remember correctly I think all the excursions scheduled for that day were cancelled. I do have to mention that both years on Castaway Cay there were people swimming I don't know how, but they were. I guess even cold in the Bahamas is warmer than many places in Jan/Feb. including here in Michigan. Our first year when it was sunny on Castaway Cay we just rented bikes, and enjoyed the BBQ, we had fun even though we were not in the water.

I am curious this year to see how Key West is going to be temperature wise. It is so far south hopefully it will be warm. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I think we're going to do the same-----I'm loving the snorkel thing with Xcaret! But I'm feeling cheap!:scared1:

I'm more excited each day that passess. I have gotten all my clothes together in the closet so all left is to throw in the suitcase. I will look like I brought everything in my house with the one suitcase, large duffel bag, and the bags for breathing machines, carry on's etc...... But I promise I'm not bringing the hole house. LOL

:cool1:

Marsha

Just throwing this out there and please know no one is obligated or even think about this: Does anyone have one place setting for the late dinner that I could link up with? If so at least i will be with another Dis'er.

If not its alright as I talk to everyone and no way near being shy. So no matter who they link me with I will know my dinner mates in no time and will tell them about how to become a Dis'er.

Marsha

We have the early seating, and we are with 3 other families, otherwise we'd welcome you. But we will definitely look for you and say "hello"

I am use to cruising or vacationing by myself so I am ok with whereever they put me.

Hi Marsha,

we are trying to get early seating and if we don't we unfortunately won't eat in the dining room...there is just no way with my kid.

As an aside, and being a vet cruiser you must have noticed, they always tend to out you with people you just fit in. Sometimes it's weird. Last cruise we were with another couple and their 4 year old, and there were so many things in common that the cruiseline had no way of knowing (hobbies, etc)...

you all have me getting worried that I have not been looking into things too much. With the holidays I have not has the time. Hoping to be more active after Christmas is over. Than the stress will begin finding swim suit amongst all the snow pants and boot. Will be glad to see nothing but sun and water for a week.

We are also very excited to see sun and water for a week! It has been so cold here in Erie (Buffalo people understand:-) Tonight it is in the 20s. Brrr!!

Its sorta hard for me to find time to concentrate on preparing for our cruise b/c our Christmas shopping isnt; even close to being done yet. Hopefully this weekend we will finish most of it.

Also, we can all be excited that our cruise documents should be arriving soon!!! Our cruise is less than a month after Christmas--so I figure right around Christmas we should get our docs and our flight schedules!

Marsha, I just checked our dining and it now says main. We have been showing as late up until now, so I guess we got switched. I really didn't care either way. You are more than welcome to sit at our table if you get changed to main. Of course, after one meal with us, you may want to switch back!!!

I feel like I was more mentally prepared for this cruise back in the fall. My fish extender is pathetic. I have 7 Mickey heads cut out with names on them, but nothing to put them on! I know I will get it all figured out in time...could be interesting.

I am really excited for the cruise, but there is so much to do before Christmas. My plan is to be super organized in January. Nice plan, huh? My biggest challenge will be getting my husband to understand we can't start packing the night before! Well, if I packed like he does, I guess I could.

Looking forward to some warm weather!!!
