1/23/2014 Dream - 3 Night Bahamian

This will be my partner's first cruise and we definitely want to eat at Palo Saturday night (her 50th birthday!). It will be my 6th DCL cruise, but my first time at Palo. When I called the first time to inquire about a reservation, I was told that we would be missing dinner at the Animator's Palate that night. When I called today about changing it, I was told that the restaurants will not be assigned until we board the ship. Since it is only a 3-night cruise, we will have to miss one of the restaurants if we go to Palo. Does anyone have suggestions for which night would be best for Palo?

I chose to reserve the 2nd night because it's Pirate night. While it does mean we'll be missing one of the restaurants, we'll only be missing the pirate-themed menu which I don't remember caring all that much about anyways.

FYI there isn't a pirate themed menu on the 3 night.

Ok, if you honestly don't want to miss dinner at any of the restaurants...go to your scheduled time, eat light (appetizers) and book the latest table at Palo. We used to do this when our kids where young and didn't want to miss dinner with them, but still wanted to enjoy Palo. If you book the second night, you will miss the Pirate Party. This is our 5th cruise on the Dream, kids are teens now and disappear as soon as they board the ship! They don't mind if we miss a dinner with them...they get to dine whever they want! (We DEMAND they show up for dinner and pictures on the other nights!) BTW, happy 50th birthday to your partner...we are celebrating MY 50th too! 50...it's the new 30!

Good to know! Last one I went on was the 5 night which I wish they still had so we had gotten both the Pirates night and Farewell/See Ya Real Soon night, which I really did love the menu for.

Well if I had to pick, here's hoping the 2nd night we were going to be at Royal Palace. But regardless I'm sure Palo will be a perfectly fine substitute. ;)

Hi There! We are booked on this cruise! Our first Disney cruise! I am a CM in the MK and am looking forward to trying something new for us! We don't have any children and are hoping there is plenty to keep us busy!

Hey everyone! Me and my family are new to this, big fans of Disney World and looking forward to trying one of the cruises! There's just me (24), our mom, and my little sis (she'll turn 13 right before the trip). Are there gonna be many people in the 18-25 age group? Hoping I won't feel too alone there, haha. :)

Hey there ya'll-
We should work on setting up a non official meet and greet. I know DCL doesn't hold an official M&G for a 3 day cruise. Can anyone think of a favorite lounge for us to meet at ? How about "Currents" on Deck 13 forward? we could meet right after the sailaway party is done on deck 12? Also this would be a brief meeting since everyone is still looking for their luggage and getting ready for din din. It would be nice to match faces with the CC handles. This is our first time to have a cabin in category 8A. The sideways cabin. It's an oceanview but the size of a balcony with 2 large portholes that you can sit in. Has anyone been in a 8A before?

My family and I (wife and 6 year old daughter) are booked on the cruise as well.

We love WDW, but thought we would try a cruise, and thought the 3 night may be a good way to ease us into it. We are doing 5 nights at WDW before the cruise, and staying the night we are kicked off the boat.

Looking forward to cruising with everyone. I have to admit I am a little nervous, and am overwhelmed. I have no clue what to expect.

You will have a blast! All the magic if WDW without the fast pace

We are headed out in less than 2 weeks as well. We are doing Disney prior to the cruise for 3 days and then hope to have relaxed fun on the cruise. Keeping the cruise part a secret from the kids until that morning! With 4 kids we talked my folks into coming with us (real hard, haha!). Rounding the group out with 4 kids and 4 adults! Can't wait :)
