I'm booked for the Magic on 1/22/05 in 2 adjoining cabins, cat. 8. (rooms 7004 and 7006) I'm considering changing to 2/5/05 but cat. 8 costs $300/cabin more so I would go to cat. 9 to keep the price the same. Has anyone stayed in cat. 9, it seems to be far from all the decks with activities, is this a problem or not? We'll have 2 kids, 1 in a stroller. Just looking for opinions on the deck location of cat. 8 vs. cat. 9. Also in either of these cat. when there are 4 in the room, how does that work? It says Qbed and single sleeper sofa?

We were on deck 2 in Feburary and really enjoyed it, very quick and easy to go up to dinner and entertainment in the evenings, and easy for disembarkation at port.
When you have 4 in a room, the sofa flips over into a bed, and another bed comes down from the ceiling right above the sofa.

We were on the same cruise with Christine (Hi Christine!) and also stayed on Deck 2. We had no complaints with Deck 2. We didn't have a problem getting to any part of the ship, although we used the stairs more than the elevators. You wouldn't be able to do that with a stroller very easily. In my opinion, saving the money and going with a Cat. 9 room would be a good idea.

Here are pictures of our Cat. 9 room:
