I know this question was asked several times in the other posting on the 1/2 Certificates...but I never did see an answer. Can someone please tell me if you have a $50 one, will you get change back? I know there is no way I would spend $50 on me & 2 children. I can't see getting them if we don't get our change back....I know someone had commented that even if you spend only $30 & don't get change you still come out ahead...I don't look at it that way.... I am a pass holder & if I show my pass, I will get anywhere from 10-15% off my bill, so I don't consider that comming out ahead if you are only spending $30.

How much change would you be expecting? If you only paid $25 for the $50 GC, would you actually expect to get $20 back in change for purchasing a $30 meal? I don't think that is going to happen. If they did give change like that, people could use the GCs to purchase $10 in food, get $40 in change and make money off of the transaction.

You'd probably be better off just sticking to you AP discount if it looks like you'll be spending less than $30 for the 3 of you.

I do not mean actual "money" back. Some places will give you a "credit" for your remaining balance. If I use only $30 worth of it, I paid for a $50 certificate, they should "honor" what I have paid for and give me the balance in the form of a credit slip. If I purchase a $50 GC at a store, I do not use all of it, the credit balance is going to remain on my certificate. It shouldn't matter how much was paid....it should be what was purchased. I still went and ordered on for The Kitchen anyway. I will just order extra food & take back to the room ... I just feel that if you purchase $50 worth of a GC....you should get what you have paid for (ie: $50 GC).... no matter how much you paid for it(ie $28.50).

In that case, I agree with you. You should get what you paid for. I misunderstood your question. I thought that you were asking if they would actually give you cash back in change. My mistake, sorry.

Gosh no.... I use to work in retail and know all the scams people would try to pull to get cash back... I was just meaning some sort of credit... I am sorry... I didn't word it that well... I knew what I meant but I guess others didn't.... now that we understand each other.... let's hope maybe they will change their policy & start to issue a credit when credit is due...:D

Your best bet would be to order whatever you need to bring the bill up to the amount of the GC, as most of the GCs do not give credits.

Order some dessert to-go and get an appetizer for tomorrow's lunch! :p

That's what I'm gonna do! It's just me and my two sons, so we will order extra to take back to the room for snacks later! :bounce:

It says on the NASCAR coupon that you can only use 1 $25 GC per check. For you and two children- Id bet you'd still spend the $25!

Yeah, but Pastamore & The Kitchen are both $50 gift certificates. I figure we can maybe take some dessert to go, since we are usually too full after dinner.

Sorry I can't help you with this one, Sharon. Mike and I ate like piggies until we were sure we reached $50 (actually $50 is not very hard to reach at The Kitchen, even with 2 for lunch)!

I read the menu that you posted & you are probably right, for 2 normal eating adults, I will be with very picky eating girls. There may end up being a total of 4 of us now. My youngest daughter's friend is going to come...but between the 2 of them, I will be lucky if they eat one meal. Do you know if we can use it on the other side for the ice-cream desserts? I know that they would eat LOL!!! I am wondering if I did the right thing by ordering the one for The Kitchen. .... I may have been better off with Nascar....they have more of what the girls would eat.... oh well...

Ive been away for a while, but heading back to MCO in May with three teens, where do you get these certificates, are they like the connection vouchers? Any info can be helpful. Thanks L.

I just used my 1/2 price certificates, and can answer that No, you will not get any change back..... I would say to order some special drinks (maybe smoothie's or such for the kids) an appetizer, and desserts to go,if you haven't used up the whole value of the certificate.... You shouldn't have a problem spending the $50. It adds up fast...... :sunny:
