1/17/09 Magic anyone???

Docs came yesterday here too!! YEAH!!! Now I am online shopping for all the things I grew out of between last summer and now :scared1:

I am getting my kids clothes out too and they have both seemed to have grown a foot over the past 6 months...I wasn't planning this! I hope to get through all the stuff and see who needs what on news years day!

Oh, I hope everyone has a happy and safe New Years Eve!!!

We were on this cruise last year and if I remember correctly it was cool at PC (and rainy?) and through the Bahamas but once past there it was gorgeous. Castaway Cay was cool and windy but many people still braved the water.

So, warm weather clothes for probably 4 days and cooler weather clothes for the others (ie, long pants and t-shirts) is what we did.

I would definitely keep an eye on the 10 day forecasts for the various areas though:

WDW: http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/USFL0372?from=36hr_topnav_business

St. Maartens: http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/NTXX0004?from=36hr_topnav_business

Port Canaveral: http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/USFL0066?from=36hr_topnav_business

I've been watching these every day to get an idea of how the weather is looking. So far it looks better than it did last year for Florida but a bit cooler than last year for the Caribbean. We'll see what happens as the day gets closer :)

We had this exact problem with last year's cruise! We pulled out our daughter's shorts and realized they were all too small. We went through this weekend and started pulling things out. I'm hoping my wife actually checked to see if the shorts would fit. Maybe I had better check as well.... ;)

Not to mention St. Thomas:

I just checked those links for the weather for the next 10 days, and even though its still early, those temps looked like shorts weather to me!! Considering I'm freezing my butt off in NJ those temps look wonderful!!:cloud9:

Yep. While 15 day may be fine for St Thomas/St Maarten I don't trust anything more than 3-5 days out for Orlando. Too unpredictable. The Caribbean weather doesn't fluctuate nearly as much except for the precipitation.

Right now we're basically assuming long pants and possible long-sleeved shirts for our WDW day before and day after and shorts for everything else.

Funny but being from NY...low 70's maybe even high 60's at this time of year is tank top and short weather for me, LOL

As for the weather...I am waiting with baited breath to see the forecast (even thought it is a forecast) for the 16th. Being up in NY I want to leave and hope we don't have crappy weather. This is the only thing that ever worries me about January cruises.

I did go out yesterday and picked out some running shorts and new sneakers. My others were getting a little ratty. So far this is the only thing I have done towards something that would relate to getting packing or ready. I think that I am even going to send my clothes out the first night to get them pressed instead of having to do it here and worry about it getting wrinkled anyway. We will see but I will probably forgetit and do it here to save the big bucks.

Hi,

I'm new to this thread and was wondering if there are any DIS meets or activites planned for this curise. I will be sailing with DH. It's his birthday cruise

I am with you...this holiday has been brutal cold.....I got the chills just watching the folks down in Times Square!!! We live about 15 miles north of NYC and there was no way I would endure hours out in that cold!!!

We cruised once before in very early January and all ports were hot except CC....where it was about 60 and breezy....too chilly for me to swim but others were. I just wore my sweatshirt and read on the beach....beats the snow in NY any time!!!
