1/17/09 Magic anyone???

WOW! We're all really getting there!! I can't freaking wait!! We're going to Kohl's today to see if there's any last minute sale shorts for our oldest since there won't be any shorts for sale in January!

Question ... my passport expires at the end of May 2009 ... I won't have any problem for the cruise will I? I'm just worried I wouldn't get it back in time?

Anyway, anyone else playing the disney cruise video for their kids every few days? We're also doing the Walt Disney World video too since we'll have 3 days in the park prior to the cruise!

WOO HOO!!!

Ha ha ha...I thought I was the only one that played those videos prior to the Disney vacation. I have the Disney travel shows from the Travel Channel recorded onthe DVR and we play those quite often. It really keeps the momentum going.

I thought that DVC members could book earlier than prior cruisers and prior cruisers could book earlier that first time cruisers. Either way, the cruise has to be paid in full too before you can book anything. Still not sure though exactly what day and time you can book...confused.

I'm fairly sure that, in the case of a Cruise, DVC is basically just another travel agent you can book through. You pay with your DVC points rather than cash, but other than that, there are no special "perks" to booking through DVC.

We've booked 2 cruises on points - this one and the same cruise in '08. The '08 cruise we could do reservations at 90 days because we were not first-time cruisers. This time we have the REAS package, so we booked our stuff at 105 days out.

Because with DVC you pay up-front, the only real benefit is you don't have to worry about not being paid-in-full when your booking time comes up. :thumbsup2

Note - all of the DVC perks you get on-board, you can get for being a DVC member even if you book cash (in-room gift, reception invitation, door magnets, etc). They should have your membership on-file, but you can double-check at the DVC desk in port (far-end of the TV area) or on the ship (deck 4 off the atrium).

Actually I think the order of being able to book reservations are...1) Concierge- 105 days, 2) Castaway Club members-90 days, and 3) first timers- 75 days. Of course, you need to be paid in full prior to all bookings. I also believe those who pay for the Romantic package are able to book with concierge guests. DVC has no status in being able to book reservations.

BTW I still fly my DVC door magnet on our message board at home. We can't wait to get a match.

Here are two quotes from people on the main forum talking about booking Palo, etc. I've got my hopes up to book at 12:01 so I hope I'm not too disappointed:

Must have changed?
I have a Jan. 10th western cruise and was able to book after 12 a.m. east coast time. I was camping with no internet, so I actually had to find a cafe at midnight in a town I wasn't familiar with to try and book. Is that tenacity or just crazy??? I'm not sure.

Thanks for the advice everyone...I was able to get on successfully at 12:01 and got the exact Palo dinner and brunch times that I wanted! Can't wait to be there now!

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed until Saturday at midnight!!! I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks for the info on when we can start booking. I've got it now. I get to start booking Oct. 19th...I can't wait !:woohoo:

Tomorrow is the 90-day mark....hard to believe it's here already. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I get a Palo dinner and brunch....even if I have to do it at 3:00 a.m.

I hate to wish away this time of year but I can't wait until January!! This time of year always seems to go fast after Halloween so it really will be here before we know it!

Good luck to everyone trying to book tomorrow!

I don't think you will have a problem. You never know but the Palo brunch is still showing availability for the at sea days at 10:30, 11 and 11;30am. Good Luck.

I wonder how everyone did with their reservations? I hope everyone got what they wanted. Boy, 90 days...we are certainly closing in on this cruise. November is right around the corner. It is surely flying by.

Tim

We can't quite start booking yet. Midnight tonight. YAY!!!

I know!! Midnight just can't come fast enough!!! I hope I can get in then (i know some people on the East Coast can't get in until 3AM, but some can get in at midnight!!)...:cool1:

If I have to wait until 3am I think I will go CRAZY!! :crazy2:

Hey there, everyone else who's waiting to log in and book Palo! Hope everyone gets what they want!!! Wish me luck!

Oh no! I keep getting this message!
Sorry, there's been an error. Please correct the information below to proceed.

So I managed to get on and book brunch but then I started getting an error report again and now I can't get back on!!! Ohhhhh-nooooo!

We're done! I got Palo for Monday night, which is when we wanted, brunch on Sunday morning and tea on Thursday. I would have rathered brunch on Thursday, but this is good. I am a HAPPY CRUISER!!!!!!!!!!

I got on at midnight (12:01 to be exact) and was able to book all of our excursions and the Palo brunch/dinner that we wanted. I was surprised how easy it was to get what we wanted since we did not have luck getting any Palo ressies on our first cruise in Sept 2007. I went to bed at 12:20 very happy. The only problem I had was yesterday when I tried to log on to the disboard. For some reason when I’m at home I can’t log on. It takes my name and password and says that I’m logged in but when I try to post a message, it bumps me out :confused3

Well, sounds like some of us were busy booking things this weekend. Glad to hear eveyone seemed to get what they wanted. I booked some spa stuff but I'm still looking at the shore excursions. I think I may be the only one that didn't want anything for Palo. It's getting closer and feeling a bit more real. I don;t want to wish time away but I'm sooo ready for a relaxing vacation and ready to be spoiled by the DCL. :sail:

Since cat 1-3 deposits were due this weekend, we called today to see if we could move to either a cat 2 or a larger cat 3. We were able to move to 8534, one of the larger midship cat 3s!
