1/17/09 Magic anyone???

For passport numbers once they have them you don't need to tell them again for future cruises. The fields in the online checkin will already have them filled in.

Jim

I know when I was able to do my online check in my kid's passport numbers were already entered in. So, I do not think you need to call DCL to provide them with your passport numbers. Just wait until you can check in online and if you already sailed before they should be there. If not, enter them in at that time.

We had to order our son's passport about a month ago. We had it in less than 2 weeks. Better than a few years back with the mad crunch for everyone to get it to travel to Mexico and Canada. The wait then was 3 to 4 months.
We booked our Palo and spa stuff today as well. We're still up in the air about shore excursions, but I'm not worried about getting those done like I was about Palo and especially Flounder's Reef.

I know ... we put in, a few months ago, for the boys passports on a Friday and got them the following Monday (like 10 days) ... I was SHOCKED! Pretty cool and my youngest son is ADORABLE in his picture! HA! They're both cute, but for some reason my youngest turned out to be an adorable picture!

WOW! We're all really getting there!! I can't freaking wait!! We're going to Kohl's today to see if there's any last minute sale shorts for our oldest since there won't be any shorts for sale in January!

Question ... my passport expires at the end of May 2009 ... I won't have any problem for the cruise will I? I'm just worried I wouldn't get it back in time?

Anyway, anyone else playing the disney cruise video for their kids every few days? We're also doing the Walt Disney World video too since we'll have 3 days in the park prior to the cruise!

WOO HOO!!!

As long as it is good up and until 1/24/09 there should be no problem. You just have to have it good for the dates of the cruise. You should sit back and relax on that issue.

I have a question for you all about what time on Oct 19th we can make our ressies. This is our second DCL cruise - our first we just made all the ressies when we got on the ship (we actually got what we wanted - after a short waitlist!). BUT this year, I want to do it right...is it midnight on the 19th? :confused3

Of course - you could all tell me it is noon to avoid competition :lmao:

That would be too funny!! Anyway, if anyone could (kindly) ;) tell me when that starting gate opens that would be AWESOME!!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but when I did it last year it was 3:00 AM Eastern time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I think that is right. 3am EST and 12am PST. If you want to make reservations first thing you need to wake up really early if you are on the East Coast. Or, stay up late if you are on the West Coast. For those in the Central and Mountain, geez I don't know what I would do. I guess it would depend on if I am calling in sick to work the next day or not. HA HA!!!

Is it 3AM for all booking windows? I have never cruised before, so I can't make reservations until the 75 day mark, which is Nov. 3rd. So, since I live in MA, I can't book til 3 AM??? I was prepared to stay up until Midnight, but waking at 3 AM :scared1: . I guess I'll have my husband wake me when he goes to work (that's his "normal" wake up time).

Somewhere on the disboards I swear I read that we can start booking at midnight--even on the east coast...naturally, I can't find it now but I'm going to keep searching!! :confused3 I'm also going to post on the main board to see what kind of answers I get then I'll report back.

Just have to share that I found Captain Jack Sparrow hat/wig on disneyshopping.com for only 9.99!!! Christmas at our house will be a disney one!! SO EXCITED!!! Also found jammies 2/25 ... which is always our Christmas Eve Present for our boys ... wow ... I'm so excited!

That's so funny, :rotfl: I just saw your thread on the main board about booking at midnight and came over here to post what that person said. She said that she booked at 12:01 eastern time. So Yay,:yay: I can just stay up a little later instead of having to get up at 3 AM, which i was dreading!!!

Yep, on the main thread there's been one reply to my post. It has been reported that we can start booking at 12:01 eastern time. I haven't found any more posts but that's what I thought I previously read. Quite a few people have said that if you are logged in at 12:00 you won't be able to post and they are recommending you log in at 12:01 ! YAHOO...5 more days to get our excursions and PALO. It seems close now--even though we have so much to do between now and the cruise (with the Holidays!)....but I cannot wait!!!

Well then that is a change. Because when I tried to book 10 days ago when It was the 105 day mark, I could not book at midnight (live in NY). I went to sleep and woke up the next morning and was able to book. So something happened between midnight and 9am.

In addition, back for my '07 cruise, I know for a fact I book at 3am EST (12am PST). I work from 7pm-7am and was signing on starting at 2:55am and on. I kept refreshing and I finally got through at 2:59am. I posted this message and I am trying to find it but the search engine on the disboards are not working right now. Once I find it I will post it. Beleive me I hope for the east coasters that we are wrong.

Well, here are some conversations from the last cruise we took on these disboards (as you can tell I was a cruise neophyte):

>>>>>
Well, just paid off our balance w/ our TA. Luckily I will be at work tomorrow night and will be able to be online at the time the bookings go public. One question I have is, do I have to log on at 3:00 am EST and then bring up the planning page or can I be logged on already and then bring up the planning page at the prescribed time? Could be a matter of seconds but hey ya never know. Really intersted in getting those Palo ressies if they are available still.

Tim

>>>>>
I usually log on earlier than 3:00 then just click on the appropriate page at the right time. Good luck getting what you need
CepMom

>>>>>
You can log on early and then go to the reservation pages about 2:59 ET. Keep refreshing your browser and at 3:00, it will accept your reservation like magic.

Did It!!!!

Well I got everything I wanted. Hey, it also excepted the reservations at 2:59 am. I know it was that time because I have a nuclear clock that is set to Greenwich time. Lucky me that I was refreshing the page constantly. Too bad for everyone else . All the shore excursions worked out and the twins were registered for the Club. Secured reservations for the DW for the Spa. She has a massage on Tuesday evening after we get back from GC and before we go to dinner at Palo's. I got an 8:30 pm reservation there. I like that because we have the early seating all week and a little change will be good. DW also has a facial reserved for Thursday at 11:45. Her only complaint is that she would like them to have some combo packages instead of just one service. Question, if you make dinner reservations at Palo, does that prohibit you from making brunch reservations online? I did not see Brunch in the drop down menu, just "all meal types". Now, I am really looking forward to it. I also want to thank Cepmom for putting the times up that were left for Palo. It helped tremendously knowing what was still available.

Once again I hope it has changed. Good Luck to everyone.

Tim, Thanks for the info. I know for my September 07 cruise I also got up and signed up for excursions and Palo (didnt get it) at 3:00 a.m. est. So when I started seeing people getting their excursions, etc. at 12:01 a.m. I figured it must have changed...maybe not? I guess on Saturday I'll be trying at 12:01 a.m. and if nothing works I'll wake up at 3 ! It's worth a try, I guess. I'm not toooo worried about excursions but I'm hoping to snag a Palo dinner and brunch but will not be too frustrated if I don't get it. Last cruise we were able to get a brunch once we got on board so we'll just keep our fingers crossed!

Let us know how you make out,for those of us who can't book until Nov.3rd:sad: and live on the east coast.

Just a thought, be very careful if you book an excursion on your own on St John's. If you get caught on St John's with your excursion and miss the all aboard, Disney will leave you. They will wait if you are on a Disney excursion. And Disney and all the other ships will leave. We've been on a few cruises where pilot ships had to race the cruise ships to get passengers back on. And you'll pay that out of pocket and it ain't cheap. And if you miss the boat on St John's/ St Thomas you're cruise is pretty much over. Flying from there to Abaco Bahamas isn't easy, if at all possible.
Just a thought.
You won't have that problem to the same extent on St Thomas or St Marteen since you'll be physically on the island that the port is on. Where as St John's is apparently a 40 minute boat ride from Charlotte Amalie on St Thomas.
Again, just a thought.

Wow, thanks for the info. I was actually thinking of booking some excursions on my own but you've scared me out of it.
