1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

OOOOOooooOOOOO MY STARS!

AAAKKK! I JUST discovered that our final payment we made to the travel agent NEVER was forwarded to Disney Cruise Line!!!:scared: :scared:

OUR RESERVATION WAS CANCELED due to non-payment!:eek:

What a panic! Our rooms are gone. Our early dinner seating is gone!!!:sad1:

I've got Disney VISA working on a dispute of the charges made by Cruise Value Center but not forwarded to DCL. We've repaid, and are putting the trip back together. Have 2 new rooms, and at this point we are saying, "Hey at least we'll be ON the ship!" We're going to make the best of it......even if we can't wiggle and twist to get our early dinner time back.

Guess this would have been the trip to book excursions through Disney, then I'd have realized something was fishy sooner;

If you ever want to see your spouse or children speechless......tell them your looooooong anticipated cruise has been canceled!

Unbelievable!

The travel AGENT we have used the past 4 cruises.....with Cruise Value Center....JUST phoned us. First off, he asked IF we had had any contact with DCL, and were we aware that his 'former' agency went out of business. ???

I said yes we were aware our thousands of $$$ had not been forwarded to DCL, AND our reservation had been canceled due to non-payment.....no early dinner, our carefully chosen rooms gone...... He ACTUALLY BLAMED DISNEY!:sad2:

I quote him saying "How stupid is that" ....his comment about our reservation being canceled. ??? Hello, its way past the deadline now, we paid the final payment middle of September, its now middle of November, and nothing.. nada ..has been forwarded to Disney.

He was soooo insistant that our woes were Disney's fault I actually told him to call DCL on my behalf and get our original rooms and early dining back. OOoo NO he wouldn't do that. No surprise there.

Unbelievable. 'How stupid is that', him blaming DCL for our canceled reservation.


I'll be working on getting early dining back but as of now, it's late seating for us.

On the bright side, our Disney VISA was credited back the full amount we paid to Cruise Value Center.:)
 
Thank goodness you used a credit card to book. While credit creates problems for many people, imagine the poor folks who paid by check and now will probably lose everything! Glad you were able to catch this in time. :thumbsup2
 

We are late seating but we requested it that way. =) After reading the info in Fodors, passporter etc. about pros/cons and I figured it would be best for our kids to be closer to actual dinner time. Hope some of you are there too!
 
OOps maybe we got your main dining? lol.

I am glad it all worked out. I sure hope they were able to honor the price you paid originally if the price now is more than what you paid.

This is just another reason why I always book myself. $100 OBC is not worth it to me if something like this happens that could cost me 1000s! I am so glad it all worked out ok!

That happened to us on our first big cruise - to the Baltics. Everything got straightened out but what a mess. I sympathize with you. Ours was not a Disney cruise so we ended up on another cruise line which actually was better. The bad thing was when we got to the airport in London, there were no reservations for us to return home. That took months to get the money refunded thru the cruise line. All's well that ends well. You are going and all will work out.

Since I am relatively new I cannot seem to figure out how to jump to #56 to check the FE list I thought I might try to do it this way. Being somewhat mac-savvy though I can cut and paste the list here for us. A huge thank you to Lolipop's mom for starting this. The more I read about FE's the more excited I get. I called DCL this past week and we're still scheduled for 2nd seating and waitlisted for early. I just checked the DCL website this morning and we're still at 2nd seating. We'll be at Rockin Bar D at 1pm sharp the day we board to make the change to early seating.

Can't wait for January 10 to get here!

We are thinking of just bringing pirate hats, eye patches, etc. rather than a full costume to save room in the suitcase.
 
I most definately will NOT be. I am not a costume kinda gal. But...my daughter might. She got this girl pirate costume for halloween, but i have to say it looks really stupid on her.LOL. It was a bit too big and she looked like a 12 yr old trying to fit in mom's costume. I didn't tell her that, didn't want to hurt her feelings. So I think I 'may not have room' for it in the suitcase and let her wear her mickey pirate ears and go comfy. lol.
 
We'll have pirate accessories here. My sis (who is also on our cruise) found some cheap stuff after Halloween for us. I think we all have swords, eye patches, a parrot for our shoulders, and a few other things.

I started to panic when I thought of all the things we need for this cruise- and these are the basics!! Clothes for 6 (including dressy - which means dressy shoes! Those take up SO much room!), a formal for me, dd's princess costumes, swim suits, swim shoes, snorkels, food for our drive down and back, etc, etc, etc!! Ack!!! Maybe we should've rented a trailer!! LOL

It says you can ship your FE gifts and other things to the ship ahead of time. I called the number and this is still available so we are planning to do that. :)
