1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

Yes, I will look it up tonight after I put the kids in bed and send you the info. I'll post it here rather than a PM so if anyone else needs it, it will be here. Have a great evening!;)

According to Passporter's Ebook Disney Cruise Clues "You can send yourself a box (FedEx Ground was the preferred method) and have your door signs, wine/beer/champagne, decorations, gifts for kids, and whatever else you wanted shipped to your stateroom. It arrives anywhere between before you get to your room at 1:30pm-ish to before dinner the first night. You send your packages to: IDS, 9001 Marlin Street, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920 and include the following: ATTN: Disney Cruise Line Housekeeping; STATEROOM: (enter cabin or GTY—they’ll get it there); PASSENGER NAME: (your name here); DATE OF SAIL: (make sure box arrives three days before your cruise sails); VESSEL: Magic or Wonder; and NUMBER OF BOXES: (1 of 2, 2 of 4, etc.). There is no fee other than what FedEx charges you to ship it there. Disney Housekeeping will deliver it to your stateroom free of charge. [Editor’s Note: Call Integrated Distribution Services (IDS) at 321-799-9100 or e-mail idsftz@aol.com to confirm this address and procedure before you make your shipment, just in case there have been changes or they no longer offer this delivery service.] " I hope this helps. WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!:rotfl:

I am not going to ship ahead of time. We are in Canada and that would cost me a small fortune. We are doing a week in WDW before hand,so I am going to be packing as light as possible. I tend to overpack and have made a decision not to do that this time. I bought these great things from ebags called packing cubes - go take a look. They are really amazing! I can't wait to use them!
Also, my daughter doesn't know about the trip - its her xmas present, so I can start packing soon and hide it under the bed!
I am also going to be doing laundry on this trip and just pack lighter. I don't mind tossing a load in here and there!

OMG I am so excited. We leave for our vacation in just 6 weeks!

Who's staying in DW before the cruise? Anyone want to share a limo to the port? Or any other ideas on how to get to port at a good price...

Wow! Thanks Lolipop's Mom for pointing that out! I take that as a sign we are all going to have a fantastic voyage aboard the Magic.

p.s. Thanks for the cubes idea! They look way cool.

Hi Everyone-

They do give everyone a pirate scarf to wear on Pirate night, so with an eye patch all should work out. Thought I'd wait until we hit Key West and the Pirate Museum to stock up on anything MJ might want(he'll want an enormous sword and that won't be one of his options!):scared1:

I have stuff for the kids' fish extenders, now all I have to do is try to think of something lite weight for the grownups.:goodvibes

I'm really getting excited. Now I will start to worry about the weather conditions for flying out of Philadelphia!!!:headache:

I had posted about sharing a limo a while ago, but no takers - I have paid for my bus to the port, but I wonder if that can be refunded?
I would be interested. Email me a liz72 @ shaw.ca (take out spaces).

We sorta dress for pirate night. DH wears a big gold hoop earring and eye patch. DD,19, wears a fancy coctail dress that's black and red. Identical red as in the red minnie pirate ears perched on her curls. That same red peeks out from under the hem of the black dress....and the shoes....red, again, with 3" heels. (and she's 6' tall barefoot) She gets tons of compliments wearing that get-up on Pirate night THe rest of us add pirate scarves here, eye patch there... loads of fun regardless how you choose to dress.

I'm starting to get things fior the fish extenders. Thats so fun to do!! won't be long now before we're out of the snow!!

Our travel plans have goofed up...in a good way. Monday, DD phoned home all excited . She is accepted into Disney's College Program. This begins 4 days after we get off the ship............... So our plans are changing ....DD and I will drive to Florida for the cruise instead of fly.(sigh) in a car packed full of important teenage stuff to live on for 6 months. DH and other DD will fly as already planned. I'll have to cancel 2 round trips on Southwest and use some of the credit to eventually fly home after she settles in

My mind is spinning over it all. I need to make a master list for things to do/and not forget for the cruise and another master list for packing and getting the college car down to Orlando in plenty of time to board the Magic on the 10th.

There is excitement in the air! And its not all snow!

oooo, we found out today Disney honored our original reservation and returned main dining to us. Disney has helped us everystep along the way since we discovered our final payment to them had been stolen by our travel agency,

phred52,

That's all wonderful news! We were keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, and will continue to do so, as we know how stressful transition can be! Congratulations to your daughter! Isn't everything turning out magical after all!?! Happy Thanksgiving! :jumping1:

phred52- Congratulations to your daughter. I bet you are having a fit trying to plan everything. Good Luck!

Does anyone have any thoughts on Xcaret?

I have seen mixed reviews. I thought the water might be too chilly in January in the caves, as people who go in the summer say the water is chilly then -so the thought of doing it in January wasn't appealing to me.

Also, I saw there is a very long and fast walk through a town that takes about 15 mins. You have to get off a boat (which some say make you very sea sick), walk to the other end of the town and get a bus to xcaret.

I do get motion sickness and am afraid I would get off the ferry boat feeling sick and then have to walk super fast through this town, feeling kinda crappy. Just not my thing. Also, I am more 'pooh sized' and probably can't keep up to those young slim people walking fast through the town, get separated and miss the bus!:rotfl:

There was a really good post someone had on the main cruise board with photos and everything. It was very detailed!

Phred52 - Congratulations to both you and your daughter. :thumbsup2 Kids do not usually get accomplishments like this without great parenting! Way to go!:cool1:

Thanks! You must be talking about the same review that made me think of this excursion! It looked awesome! I was more concerned with the time constraints. It looks like this would need to be something for a full day to see everything. :)
I can't stop thinking about the weight belt for snuba! Yikes! :scared1:

According to the USA Today article they started showing Bolt on the ships beginning at midnight the 20th. It doesn't say how long it will be playing though? I think the 3D theater will be used mainly for a special 3D show with special effects. It sounds like the bug show at Ca. Adventure or Honey I Shrunk the Audience at Disneyland. I thought somewhere in our posts there was one about when you could call the ship and find out what movies and shows will be playing but that may have been another thread? I'm just SO excited!!:yay:

Thanks, guys, for all the kind words. We've been blessed with 2 really wonderful DD's. Imagine this...they both still love to vacation with their parents! :thumbsup2 ((and its not all Disney...next summer is a camping week so popular we've booked an extra site just to hold DD's & friends....but not too close to Mom and Dad:)

Can't wait.....both DD's come home Wednesday for a loooooooong weekend! We'll put on thinking caps and iron out more of the trip details. Not long now 'till we'll be having our first lunch on the Magic! WooHooo!:cool1: !!
