Oh man listen to this!
I was just about to go get my daughter from school and UPS shows up.
He comes up to me and says LOUDLY "Package from Disney World!" all excited (he is a great guy).
I kept thinking 'OMG thank god my daughter is not home yet'. I told him to shhhhhhhhhh its a xmas surprise and he will be bringing me cruise docs soon! Now I am afraid to answer the door if she is home!

Wow. You got lucky! We surprised our kids once with a trip to Disneyland. It was so hard to keep it a secret. I'm impressed you've made it this long. How fun

In case anyone is looking for options other than the Disney-offered excursions, I just booked two through shoretrips.com. They are a company based in Milwaukee, WI. A co-worker of mine used them on a cruise he took a little over a year ago and he was very happy with them. He said the group he was in was small, (about 15), and got quite a bit of personal attention. I think they did the swim-with-the-stingray-thing in Grand Cayman and he said the rays were everywhere! As their alotted time came to an end the horde from the cruise ship started to arrive. He was glad he and his family already had the time they did with the rays since the other group was just way too large. Check out their website if you're interested.

Hello again! I am still "stuffed" from Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I guess now maybe I can get motivated to start my cruise preparation. I would like to sign my husband & myself up for the fish extender exchange. This sounds like a lot of fun! It will only be the two of us this time. I am hoping that he will love Disney as much as I do.

Yup - stuffed as much as we can be!!! Over this past weekend we've had two family birthdays (ds and mine!), watched the Detroit Thanksgiving parade, I ran in the Turkey trot (came in 14th out of 193 in my age group!!! 490 out of 7000 overall!), and I hosted 17 for Thanksgiving!! Now, I can officially start packing! LOL

Your dh WILL love Disney as much as you do!! I swear it's addictive!

So, who has started packing????? I have a suitcase started already!!

I have started "laying" things out to bring, but I think this continues up until the time you sail! LOL! I procrastinated on the fish exchange because we are not bringing any kids, but then after looking at the list, I see there will be other adults as well.
We also have had a hectic week. My DD, DSIL, and DGD came for the holidays and as soon as they left, we had friends in from Tybee Island. Even though it was hectic, I wouldn't have changed a thing. We had a wonderful holiday and it's back to work today. Yuk! But work is a necessary evil for my cruise addiction.
Is there anything on the Disney Magic that is a mustdo? We have dinner booked at Palo and I love the shows, anything else?

I can't pack openly and its driving me nuts! I bought packing cubes from ebags and am packing and hiding!

The fuel supplement is now dropped and we should be getting an OBC which is nice! I phoned disney this morning and they said that if oil is below 70 on the day we set sail, we will get the OBC. Fingers crossed.

Do you guys want a REALLY GOOD laugh?

Ok here goes....I was all proactive and ordered something custom made for our FE gifts. I was all proud of myself because I found a great deal and got 50of what I wanted for $25. I approved the design and had them shipped. They finally arrived today. I was all excited. I tore open the package to find.....

I screwed up. I put 2008 instead of 2009 on what I had made. How the hell did I manage that? I am just about in tears,but then just started to laugh. Out came the mastercard and I just re-ordered.

So guys, I 'was' going to do a nice little package thing with what I had made, but now it has cost me $50 for FE gifts, this is all you get from us! I am so sorry! You will know what it is when you see it I am sure. If not, I will fill you in after the fact.

OH NO- Lolipop's mom, this is SO something I would do! I have been looking for all sorts of stuff and have hesitated getting anything since we don't have actual numbers yet. I really feel for you I have done so many things like this. I agree with Tiggerlover2 as well. We probably wouldn't have even noticed. We all paid in '08 =) and it sounds as if many of us will be packing in '08 as well. If this cruising is as adiciting as it seems- keep the '08 ones and change them in 10 years to 18.

I have to finish our Thanksgiving dinner- DH is a FF coming off a 96 hour shift so our dinner is tonight. So happy delayed Thanksgiving to you all!! Have a great night everyone- we are getting closer by the minute!

I just called DCL after reading the fuel surcharge thread. I was told that we can check with DCL on 12/18/08to confirm whether we, who are cruising on 1/10/09, will get an OBC.

Also, I asked about stateroom assignments for guaranteed categories. The DCL rep told me it will be done 30 days before we cruise. So, for all of us who are not yet assigned a stateroom, we should know by December 11!!!

Welcome all new cruisers. I'm cruising with my DD's m-i-l, Carla. It's my 11th DCL cruise and Carla's 2nd.

Navigators, if anyone wants to look at recent Western Navigators, I do have mine from the 10/4/08 Magic. Just let me know.

I have a silly question For those who fly in and use Bare Minerals can these products be taken on the plane? The TSA searches our luggage most of the time and the products just get tossed around. I've tried tape but it leaves a sticky film on the holes.
