I'm glad I found this thread! I finally convinced my huband to cruise (I've cruised before) so count us in for 09/29!! We planned this just last month so we haven't had much time to research let alone read the boards.

Since this is a "big-kids" vacation without the little kids (ages 7 and 9), we told them that we're going alone first to "check it out to see if that would be something they would be interested in". At their age, they bought that logic! They know that next time, they'll be on board as well.

Laura, we surprised our kids a couple of times for vacations; simply priceless. Last year, we went to WDW but insisted that we were going to Canada. Even at MCO where they have been numerous times, they didn't realize they were in Florida. It wasn't until we got on property that they went nuts.

I just finished up a door sign and I am working on designing t-shirts for the kids.... something reflecting that this was a surprise trip!

I still havent done anything about pirate costumes, so I may just flake on that... but then again I know once I am there I would regret not doing it. UGH

School starts tuesday for my oldest so we are gearing up for that.

My heart is saddened with the news of Hurricane Katrina becoming a Cat 5. Lets hope all those in her path reach safety.

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has received their cruise docs? My travel agent ( who we have had a tons of problems with) just informed me that she will be out of town for the next two weeks. She said that her boss will have to take care of our docs. when they come in. I just want to stay on top if things. Please let me know when you all start getting them! Thanks!

No docs here yet, but we too booked via TA, so I expect our docs close to sailing.

No trip Docs yet-just checked the mail. My TA said they come directly from Disney not them. That Docs come 21 days before the trip. (never again will I use a TA-not worth the aggrevation) That would mean they should be here in a day or two. Has anyone received theirs yet?
We can't wait- it is going to be such fun.

Two cardboard bricks arrived today from disney. Inside were the docs. I was surprised to see they are in paper airline form.. Like a large coupon book. I imagined them as sheets of paper... not cardboard tickets...

The ammusing thing is yesterday I drove up to the house and saw this HUGE Mickey pouch in the mail! I was giddy!! Since this is a surprise for the girls, I quickly snatched it up and ran upstairs. I ripped it open and low and behold not 1 but TWO books on old fashion Dolls and a package of paper golfing napkins for my husbands birthday. I look on the front, and my Aunt had sent the stuff in a Mickey bag via the post office.

But none of that matters now!! Sept. 29th 2005 cruise is fantasticly close!

Laura, I am so happy for you! Doing a little dance as we speak! Did you go through a travel agent? We did and she said the docs will come to her. I sure hope they come directly to us, as we have had nothing but probelms with her! Hope to be doing my own doc dance soon! Only 20 days to go!!!!

Finally the time is here! Ok, who is packed? I need to get that underway real soon! Though I am 2/3 there.

Laura, we are in a GTY, so I am not sure of our deck yet. But we would be very interested in meeting everyone! Still no docs yet. We booked through Southwest though. I shall place a call tomorrow!

I am still in search of a Minnie Mouse Dress for Sierra. I have been consumed with family since the birth of Natalie...who by the way weighed 9lbs 2oz! All natural mama! and a little help with the epidural! I will post a picture soon. Diana did amazing! Thank you for prayers and good wishes!

I may 86 the pirate idea as well, as time is running short. But who knows.

Hey Cindy! I was 'wonder'ing when you would find your way back here. Congrats on becoming a g-ma again. I love the name Natalie!!

We are on Deck 6 starbord mid ship. I have desided to go nuts with door signs and so far have 2 made. I will do 2 or 3 more before it is all said and done, but plan on bringing supplies for the girls to enhance them! LOL

STILL keeping it a surprise, but I am trying to figure out what I will say at what point... HUH...

Wake the kids up early (why mommy... you have to be a school early today sweetie.. oh ok) Load them into the car.. (why are their suitcases in the car mommy? Well... maybe we are not going to school today? WHAT?? REALLY?? WHere are we going mommmy... Um it is a surprise!) Arrive at the airport... it sucks that DD6 can read, so I doubt I will be able to hide the ORLANDO fact. (DD6 MOMMY MOMMY we are going to WDW?!?!?!? Oh that sign is wrong... they changed our gate at the last minute, they just didnt have time to change the sign... prolly wont work, but if I tell them we are at one gate, then go to the secnd gate, it might work... lol)

then we have 2 1/2 hours on the plane to fend off their questions... I plan on just keeping a smirk on my face. If we manage to keep Orlando a secret until we land, both the girls will know where we are in nanosecond we walk into the terminal. LOL

I am trying to figure out when to tell them about the cruise...

We have one night at the COntemporay before the cruise... Do we play dumb, and then spring the cruise on them in the morning (we have an early Chef Mickey reservation befroe heading to the port) Should we continue to say nothing until we are at the port? Should we fess up on the plane??

I guess I am leaning towars spilling the beans on the plane. The kids are 6,4 and 2 and at that age, they are better knowing the plan than not, if that makes sense. Transitions work better if they are aware of them.

It would be a lot easier if we were staying at Ron Jons or the Raddison (not at WDW). I mean they will be super tickled to be staying at the Contemporay.. and if I dont say anything they will think we are there for the week....

UGH UGH Why do I let this stuff consume me! ROFLMBO

We were booked in a 12 GTY for the 9/29, and Disney has now assigned cabin numbers for some (at least mine) of those rooms - you can check online - I found a nice little upgrade when I checked my room #, and the kids are very excited about it!!!

Let me look.... all I see is main dining confirmed.... nothing about rotation or which of the 3 timeslots for early and late dining times. Sorry. I think the first you can find out is when you get your KTTW card.

Hey Bender Congrats on your upgrade!!! What catagory did you get??

So who is interested in a quicky meet??? I suggest 3 pm up on deck 10 mid-ship on sailing day. 3pm works because everyone is pretty much on the ship by that time, has eaten lunch and signed kids in etc. It is quiet up there then and gives us all time to meet and chat. Low Key..... Then we do the drill

I would also be willing to make up a little Door sign with all our screen names and locations for everyone to put on their doors.....

I started working on the group sign today, I think adding everyone's cabin number would be cool. I am also thinking of just having our DISBOARD screen names on it... like Laurabearz and family and then a little plug for the DIS and Cruise Critic (if ya'll dont mind... I know Cindy is a HUGE CC fan, and I learned a lot there too, but since this is from the DIS.. I will leave it up to the rest of you. ) Right now I am thinking the sign will say something like... Here... there.... everywhere... from surfing the net to surfing the seas, freinds on the DISBOARDS having a Magical time aboard Disney's Wonder..... Or something catchy like that... gotta see how it all fits.

Anyway I just PM'd everyone and emailed those of you I could. I think I even emailed a couple of people more than once... Oh PrincessH I dont think I emailed you, but I have your info! I did PM you I think.

I am STILL trying to figure out if we are doing anything for Pirate night. I saw some cute costumes but the price was over $50! I need to find out what Disney gives you.. I know a scarf/bandana thing, but I wonder about eye patches. I saw some neat pirate tattoos on oriental trading that I plan on ordering. They also have some hats, that might be fun. :::: shrug::::: gotta find a median of fun for kids and vacation for mom. I want them to have SOME extra pirate stuff, but not so much that they are fussing with it all night and asking DH and I to carry it. LOL
