09/28/2002 Cruise

Still not packed and decals not on shirts yet, but dryer now fixed so can at least do laundry. I did clean the house, however that won't help me when I need clothes to wear on the cruise. So Norm and I will be easy to find we will be the ones with the same set of clothes on for the entire cruise.


Have a safe trip everyone who is starting down. I still have till Friday afternoon to get it together.

I do not know how I am going to get through this last day of work. I hope we as VERY busy, because a slow day would be torture!

Not enough time to comment on all that's been going on. Have to work all day, pack tonight, and leave for the airport about 4 a.m. tomorrow. Yikes!

Anyway, Elaine, I thought I might pick up some bonine, too. I took Dramamine before, and yes, it did make me a bit sleepy. Hopefully, we won't need any of this stuff, but I feel better knowing that I have it if we need it.

Went into work yesterday, and someone had left a box of salt water taffy from the shore. (Bet you know where this is going, huh?) It was 9 a.m. and I had no business having a piece of candy--------but there it was. To make this quick: broken tooth, emergency dental appointment, big bucks. Now I'm good as new (or at least as good as I was before 9 a.m. yesterday). And I swear I will never again eat salt water taffy. Never.

Everyone keep calm---------I'm crazy enough for all of us.

Then Friday packing, doing documents, dogs to kennel, into the car and off to the airport for 7:30pm flight. Hope the storms stay away so we can at least leave BWI.

Bags are packed and we are off for the airport as soon as the kids are out of school. Looks like we're going to get wet at WDW for the next couple of days!

Hi Vonda! Thanks for getting me the shoe thingie. I'm Beth, but you can call me Michelle if you want. It will make me feel like my kids who always say I call them by eachother's names. LOL

Karen -- sorry to hear about your tooth. I woke up this morning with pain in my ear and near the top of my jaw. I think it is TMJ, but I am seeing the doctor this afternoon just to be safe.

I have dramamine and ginger tablets. I want to get seabands for the girls.

Well guess everyone is packed and set on go - Norm and I leave in about 55 hours for Key West - sooooooooooooo looking forward to seeing everyone at Bill Fish Pier House 0 Duval Street at 5PM on Sunday - the hurricane don't be around but we will - in fact we will be the hurricanes in Key West

I got seabands for the girls. With all the stuff I bought I should pretty much insure calm seas. I'm knocking on wood here in NJ.

I had to stop at Kmart so I thought I would look for that shoe holder thingie. Good thing Vonda is looking for one for me -- Kmart was all out!

Hi Western Cruisers,
We just got back and would like to suggest two places in Key West. One is The Blonde Giraffe where you can get a slice of Key Lime Pie on a stick dipped in Chocolate. It is so good. Located about half way down Duval St. on the left.

The other is the Key West Aloe Shop located on Front St. They have a great selection of all kinds of lotions made from Aloe. The young lady that waited on us has lived there all her life. Her father is the High School baseball coach.

Several eateries are closed. End of season they told us.

Papa ~ If you are still out there - Yes, yard work (unfortunately).
REALLY INJURED. Hobbling around ... I am NOT a happy camper.
Drugs & sleep were NOT the activities planned these 3 weeks!

Oh well ... I can still navigate the pool without too much pain.

Isidore appears to be a non-event for us on its curnt path.
HOWEVER, Lili looks like trouble. Perhaps the Captain can sneak southeast (down & around). Any bets that there is an alternative port to Key West?
