09/28/2002 Cruise

The docs arrived today. :) This is a first for us. We've never gotten them any further out than two weeks so them coming a month out is rare for us.

I also talked to DCL this morning and they are showing our cruise with amended dining times. I'm not sure if the CM I spoke with is right but she said that early dining time is 5:45pm. She said the other trial cruises were 5:30pm but they've moved it to 5:45pm on ours. If she was correct I'm wondering what time the late dining time will be. Has anyone heard any differently?

It is so funny to see the number of posts increasing rapidly! I remember our posting marathons last year for the 9/22 Cruisetoberfest! I think we ended up at around 3,200 posts!

With a month left, do you guys think you can beat it?

Come on Mike and Mary, you can do it!

You guys need Rosemary on this cruise to rally the posters!

I would help, but I will be on the Wonder starting Thrusday until Sunday!

Hope ya'll are doing well!

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
We really haven't been trying too hard on the number of posts:p Cruisetoberfest II is on for 10/11/2003 first trip for the magic after it comes out of drydock. Enjoy the wonder and have a fantastic cruise. Tell everyone we said hello. Mike

Dearest Poughkeepsie Pal -

Would it be too much to ask you to bring me home with you?
I will work hard, very hard - I even do windows and cut grass!
I promise not to swear, drink, gamble or chase men (well, maybe oogle them!)
I will TRY hard not to eat all the cheese in your house and unless you force me to eat them, I'll give up desserts - even that other vegetable, chocolate!
And I will faithfully go to church every Sunday.
Promise?~

Just bring me back home to New York!!!!!! PLEASE!

Your faithful friend stuck in the Hoosier state between cornfields and pig farms,

Rae

Sorry I've been missing lately.

Life has been crazy busy. I am a cochair for my daughter's elementary school's store so I have been busy shopping for the items that they will be selling. The store takes place on Friday and Tuesday. School starts Wednesday!!!

I have to go back and read 5 pages of posts! I hope to get to that later tonight and then I will welcome all of the newcomers that have joined us.

:D hi :D

Beth, no need to be sorry. It's called having a LIFE! LOL!

Calling JellyMoon, Renee,SusanD, and tcjp4me, if you will e-mail me with your e-mail addresses I will forward you a copy of the DIS cruisers list. RellingTwin@aol.com

Rae, I have to tell you....my brother and his family were in the same boat as you. They lived upstate, then due to my brothers job, moved to Ill. (outside Chicago). They did not like it at all. I don't think "hate" is too strong a word for it. My brother jumped at the chance to move back to the Thousand Island area before they were there a year. Not as good a job, but the family is happier!

Hi Kevin:wave: Have a great time on your cruise!I'm not sure what our final count will be, but at the rate we've been adding cruisers we just may have 100+ by 9/28/02!

Still no documents ... Should I start to worry? It's beginning to bum me out.

Working out of town again tomorrow .. with any luck I'll come home to the Fed Ex Guy!

Check back on everyone tommorow when I get home!

Have a very Mickey Night!

Well they got here Monday woke up my DS and he signed and went back to sleep. He called Barbara at work and she vibrated till she got home and did the honors. Some catchng up to do is the organ at the GF called Bertha? William it will be a blast to have dinner with you and your family you are an Disney encyclopedia. My favorite rides have to be Pirates, Haunted mansion, Rocking Roller Coaster and Space mountain hard to pick only a couple. I love to eat at WDW so it is worse. One of Barbara's favorite meals was when I took her on a boat trip from the GF to watch the fireworks over the castle and had dinner served on the boat during a downpour. I tried to plan the perfect romantic event and it poured and poured. Great meals are Epcot=Canada, Germany, MGM= Brown Derby, Grand Floridian=1900 Park Fare, Contemporary= Steak house again just a few. When we go the week after the cruise we plan on going to Portobell Yacht Club (again, very good)/ Citricos 1st time / Luau/Olivias/Fultons. Any suggestions are appreciated. We will try almost anything once. I had the best meal I ever had in the Living Seas and have never had a good one there since funny that way. Hope this starts a flood of Fed Ex deliveries. Hope all are well! See Ya later. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Well congratulate us, we just bought dirt! Our son thinks we had better put a house on it so I think we will.

Hello all,

eshannon - did you call about the dolphin tour? Not sure what I want to do yet - checking out alot of options on our own - this looked pretty neat.

Favorite Rides - I am a coaster Queen - went to Great Adventure this weekend to get my fix. I love Rockin' Roller Coaster. DH and I are dying to get DS6 - we are coaster nuts. Space Mountain, of course, it was my first real roller coaster ride in 1976. Pirates and Haunted Mansion - always spooked me when I was little - especially the lady in the crystal ball (I know a lady that looks like her) and the lady at the end "Hurry Back, Hurry Back".

Favorite Restaurants - DH and I love ESPN Club - especially on sport contest nights, EPCOT - Canada - Le Cellier - best soup, Beaches and Cream - great burgers, Yacht Club Galley - good lunch. MGM - Hollywood and Vine (Fantasmic Dining Experience) and Brown Derby.

Ok - as you can see I am in a Disney Mood. Who else will be going to WDW following the cruise? I am in DT's right now without it.

Good Nite.

We will be going to Disneyworld on the day we arrive back and then our fllight leaves that evening. However, am excited to go back in December. In fact have been looking for flights. The cheapest I have found is on delta and it is 340. That is pretty high, but I think I had better book it as when I called United they had no return flights for us.

My all time favorite food at the world is......the pineapple whip. I know... it isn't a food. but I love it. I have to have it as soon as we get there. The strawberry/ vanilla stuff by the teacups runs a very close second.
We do like the fish and chips also. Actually I like the chips and Bill likes the fish.

Can't remember who asked, but we have booked the dolphinwatch. They have agreed to take the three of us and if anyone else signs up that will be fine, but they will take us alone if necessary. They had a show on the Animal Planet about this group. Anyway, wouldlove to have someone else join us!!{{wink}} {{nudge, nudge}}

Hubby's 1966 ford pick up just "died" Oh I am so sad (read, NOT) but I can't believe what he decided to buy to replace it. I had been telling him about the Toyota hybrid car. Itruns on gas and battery. It gets 60 mpg. anyway, we went and he got one. It is small, but great for running around in.. Love the gas mileage.

to our dining companions: William is really brushing up on his trivia. You are right about the organ. Big Bertha is her name. William thinks the answer to the dwarf question is Doc. but he is doing some research to make sure:p
Evening all......Elaine

Hi, it is me dopeyfan,. I have been working on this for awhile. Listen to this wonderful song. it sure gets me in the mood for disney. <a href="http://members.rogers.com/supermom20000/default.html"><img src="http://members.rogers.com/supermom20000/SMbanner.gif"></a><bgsound src="http://members.rogers.com/supermom20000/Kids_files/MickeyMouseClub.mid" autostart=true loop=infinite >

ELAINE!!!My DH has a 1966 Ford Pick up also!It has died many times but DH just keeps putting it on life support until he get an organ donation and then preforms a transplant. This is his everyday work truck, and I must admit, it IS a pretty cool looking truck. About 2 years ago, a co-worker christened it the "Jurrasic Ford" and stuck a 8in T-Rex on the hood. Well DH liked it so much he gluded it on!Now kids on James Island call him the "Dino Man" and wave at him!LOL!

Shelly..congrats on your dirt! Now the real fun begins....looking at plans!Best of luck to you in your future building!

William...I am in awe! Can you be my child if I get picked for WWTBAM??

I LOVE Space Mountain, but must always go alone as neither DH or children like anything that is even rollercoster-ish!But since Buzz Light Year and Space Mountain are close together, we split up and do our own thing in TomorrowLand. Body Wars is another favorite (Star Tours too!)

I wish we could go to WDW either before or after the cruise, but 5 days is the most school the kids can miss in any single grading period.
DD has just started to play the Viola. And she has tried out for Chorus again this year. I have a feeling I am going to be pretty busy this year!LOL

OK..I have to ask this....Does anyone else know where the Magic is every min of the day???Today I was thinking OK...she is pulling into St Martin today, 5 weeks from today I will be in Grand Cayman. I think I am going to need to be weaned off this board at some point (BUT NOT NOW!LOL)

I am going to call Shirley at The Perfect Gift this weekend before going to the race. I think I am going to have a NASCAR themed basket for DH. Shirley said she can get me a Mark Martin Beach towel and drink "hugger", to put in it.But don't tell him , it's a surprise!

YO! William - Left-handed Dwarf? - Not DOC ...

Rae - You will probably be suprised that I hardly eat salmon. Love to catch them, keep some in the freezer for guests mostly.
Love to pull out a 15-20 pound full salmon and roast it ~ BBQ!!!
Much better fresh though ~ Now HALIBUT ~ Any time, any place. Chrystina makes something called "halibut hash" ~ TOOOOOOOOOOOO Good!!!!!!!

All this talk of documents made me check. Called to our friend the "babysitter" (Cats - Socrates & Sabrina) - Nope

Found out that I DO have to go to Fairbanks the four days prior to leaving for Alabama - Not good ... Will definitely be SNOW!!!
Oh well, I guess that will make a trip to the Deep South better.

Well, what else - Oops - leg injury - age defeats ego everytime!!!
May be down to walking ... Need to see how long healing takes.
Longer every time with added years !!! Talk about EGO strain!!!

Notice lotsa folks going to WDW for Xmas - Probably us two too!

Okay, this is the DD known as Stacey, better known as "Katie's Mom." I'm posting this because Papa wants a list of what he needs to bring back and I'm counting on you people to make sure and remind him and Mama to get this stuff from DW.

2 mouse ears balls (one black, one patriotic if they have it)

a t-shirt for me that says "Disney(whatever)" on it. Preferably white, next choice would be neon green, next choice is hot pink, next choice is gray

a t-shirt for Eric that has "Disneyworld" printed somewhere on it. Preferably gray, next choice would be white, next choice would be navy blue... he has such boring color preferences ;)

one of those chinese umbrellas with Katie's name on it, and anything else they'd like to get her

ummm... oh and a hottie from the Norway Pavillion if they can find one... the less English he speaks the better. What? I need an Au Pare (sp?) for Katie. Yep.. that's what I need... -Stacey

STACEY NICOLE! I did not think you would do it! :p LOL You are too funny. Wait till your Papa reads this. :p I promise will make a list for everything to get at WDW.

Hello, everyone. Just got up and watched a few min. of news. There was a house fire this morning that a three year old found and got his family out. Then the fire flared up again and the family lost everything that wasn't burned the first time. The fire department called it a "flareup" Thank goodness everyone got out ok.

DD1 and I cleaned out the sewing room and threw away a LOT of junk yesterday and then DD2 was at Opry Mills shopping when we called them to check on Katie's day and we went over there to shop with them and bought several cute outfits at Carter's store for Katie. I hate to say it but I do not like to shop but this baby shopping is great! They had better prices on a lot of their clothes than Walmart. Katie racked up! Including a new diaper bag.

We left there and Mike and I went to the men's store and he got a new sport jacket, (sorry Art) and pants, shirt, tie, cardboard hankerchief (What's the deal with that?)and socks. He is going to look spiffy! He then tried to drag me to clothes shop. I dug my feet in and we went home. I HATE clothes shopping for me. Stacey and Kathryn have promised their Papa to go with me on Thursday. :p

William is too good! Hello everyone. Oh, is the left handed one Doc? That is one of my favorite Disney movies along with Lady and the Tramp.

Gotta go, DD1 is here and we are going on a treasure hunt in the attic today along with the closets. Kathryn wants to have a yard sale. ;) Also a good way to get rid of a lot of junk.

Take care everyone, welcome to the new ones, thanks Cathy, Kathy

Dennis - when we lived in Maine (I worked for US Rep Snowe then) - we had a variety of meats compliments of the office manager - bear, moose, venison and rabbit. A nurse friend and her entire family moved to Alaska and have been there now nearly 15 years (retired USAF) - all I hear about is how beautiful, friendly and peaceful it is! Makes me envy you all the more even with the cold temps and snow! Soooo, Dennis, if I ever get up to see the Slaymakers (that really is their name!), I'll ring you up and bring a few nice bottles of wine for you and Chrystina to go with the salmon!!!!

Mary - I can completely understand your brother and his family's unhappiness in the Midwest. They are different people here and have different lifestyles (apologises for being my New York blunt self here), but it's hard for Easterners to deal with the big change from progressive to "well, it worked for Grandpa and his Paw". I have always tried very hard to fit in to any area that the USAF sent me, later us, - and out of a dozen plus locations, this one is just the one that has been the hardest to adapt to. I have nice friends here, the theater does my plays, but it's just not the same as other places. No matter how long a person lives here or what they do, it's never enough and you are always looked at as "one of those military retirees" or "transplants".

But I'm still going to keep trying to "fit in" and maybe someday, Lauren (my Poughkeepsie Pal) will see me on her doorstep asking to borrow a cup of sugar!

Got my reservations (and Michael's) for Nicki's on the Grand Cayman for horsebackriding on the beach. Michael is beside himself with excitement. Mom said that if she weren't afraid of breaking a bone she'd come along - now that I'd love to see!!!!

Have a super day all!

Rae

Okay Dennis, I think I know know. It is Sleepy. Right? YOur friend William. Gotta go, my mom thinks I am getting ready for school. Ha Ha William aka dopeyfan
