09/28/2002 Cruise

GoofyDisney,

Yes Scott and I are going on the halloween cruise! I am thrilled that you can join us. You will miss a great bunch of people though, the 9/22ers are wonderful!

Welcome aboard the 10/28!

Dan

Now that I'm dizzy (or is it "Goofy") with all the jumpers .... should we start packing or what?

Read somewhere that if you want to get underwater cameras .. Fuji makes the better one for blues & greens, Kodack is better for yellows & reds. Just a hint! Also grab them now cause EEEEK, they are starting to put out the Fall stuff!

Well back to work ......

Underwater cameras are available year round here in the south at wally world. Had a little bit of a problem last night. We had to go to the ER as I had a bad case of cellulitis in the left leg. They gave me a whopping dose of gorillacillian(can't remember the exact name)in an iv and let me come home. Have my leg elevated and no work for two days.

Made the final payment today:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: so I guess that means that we are going:D

Cathy tell Art that we can also use the cameras to catch those pretty two legged tropical fish when we are snorkeling;) ;)

Congratulations Ave and we have our fingers crossed for you in August. Mike

Dan & Scott: Did you get my letter via snail-mail? I'm just curious as I didn't get a mail from you. Please inform me, if I have to send another one.

Papa: Rest your leg and get well soon!!!

Pixie dust from Germany to you (The REAL stuff)!!!

OMG :bounce: "Gorillacillin" that sounds like nasty stuff. Seriously take care of that leg ... stay off of it, prop it up in front of the puter and keep us updated! Freight car full of pixie dust coming down the tracks (inside joke!)

Ave - congrats - now fingers crossed for the final decision. Know you'd like to have that $ for the Cruise!

BTW Mike - there will be no "mermaid" shots on those underwater cameras! The leg may be ailing but the mind is obviously still churning around.

Viking - hope that you were not involved in checking out that awful plane crash in Germany ... as I recall you do something with the airlines in Germany! PS tell Anja we said HI.

Picked up some passport applications today - I had a thread on this you can check out. Seems that there was a couple that had a terrible health emergency and she had an awful lot of problems without having a passport. Now to get those awful pictures taken.

Well back to work.....

I'm sorry to hear that Peagreenid and GoofyDisney won't be joining us on the cruise. Hope you enjoy the other cruises that you are planning.

Papa -- gorillacillan! wow sounds like they used the serious stuff on you! Hope you are feeling better quick!

Welcome to all the new people who have joined our happy bunch. :D

I would like to take this as my "DisCruise Project". If this is OK with the rest of the group. Here's what I have got so far: Monday Sept. 30th 10 AM Brunch at Palo's. The following have expressed intrest. TiiiigerGirl, Mlshields, Rellingtwin, Kimber1963, @GoofyNut,Papa,PowerAlaska,Eshannon, and me Twinave. Assuming each person is bring a spouse/guest this is a group of 18. I will plan on making the arrangements for Palo's on Sat. Sept. 28th. If anyone else wants to join, or I've got someone on the list that has changed thier minds, let me know. Ave

BoooooooHoooooo. I was just finally able to get on line and realized that my old friends from 9/29 last year aren't coming. That means that Kelly and I are pretty much it from last year!

I'm just happy you guys get to go on a cruise. I mean cruising somewhere is better than nowhere. And both of them will have something to look forward to when all we have are fond memories.

I have to talk to my husband about the brunch. (Got to be a good wife and include him in the decision making process. LOL Who am I kidding? Disney is mine! All mine!)

I do wonder what day Disney will have the character breakfast.

Waves hi to a newcomer - who might be lurking!

Mike, how's the leg? I can't find gorillicillin in my PDR. Must be new stuff!;)

Mike, sorry to hear about your leg!Take care of yourself!

TwinAve..so glad you will take on the Brunch project. You may want to look at the 5/11/02 trip report and PM or e-mail whoever booked the private room at Palos.I am not sure how this is reserved but I seem to remember someone saying they did it BEFORE the sail date.

Beth...too funny! If you DH is like mine he just wants to be told when to be where, and what he should be wearing!LOL!

19 more days and we can reserve our Disney excurtions!I am hopeful this year to reserve the fishing trip at CC. It was not offered last year for some unknown reason and DS was very disapointed.

@GoofyNut...you are all set for Capt. Marvins . No need to do anything. We pay when we get there.

ColinsMom....do you know the number of people in your party. I am getting close to the end of my lanyard supply and need to order more if they are needed.

Hello gang the antibiotic was rocephin. Doing better babysat today with one leg propped up in a chair on a pillow and one squirming 7 week old beside me. DD had to run to the art supply store(only trouble was it was in Knoxville) to get some supplies. There were two motives though. Kathy went with her and they stopped at the sewing machine store and at marble slab creamery;)

Has anyone thought about excursions in Key West yet? Mike

Mike - How's your leg? Hope much better. Just remember that you have to bounce Katie on the other leg!!!!

Re Key West ... My SIL gave me a brochure on Key West and said that she liked to take the trolly (tram or whatever it's called) that has one price for the entire day and you can get on and off anywhere on the route. She said that was nice cause you could do/see what you wanted at your own pace. It goes from one end of Key West to the other. I haven't seen where they have any beaches to speak of ... it's actually coral reef. I sent for some stuff and I'll try and go over it asap and give you guys some info. So far the ship wreck museum thingy sounds neat to see. I heard that Hemingway's house is rather pricey for what you see that may be unusual.

Ave --- Thanks for doing the Brunch thingy ... Put me and Art down for a go. Just wondering what the dress code is?

Any lurkers out there that are on this cruise and haven't given RellingTwin - Mary your info. If you want in on any of the goodies, SIGN UP ALREADY! :bounce: For those that have signed up and gotten "the package" you have an idea of what we mean!
Not to mention we are reallllllllly a fun bunch!

Well back to work .....

GBG ~ no one will stalk quite as good as you and yours!

And actually I realized there is ShellH20(sp) and maybe one or two others that I've forgotten in my senility.

Hi Gang, I contacted my travel agent about doing the Palo's Brunch thing. She said she could book it in advance, I just have to give her the go ahead. Now for the bad news, the room can only hold 14 people. I'm not sure what I should do now. Do I book-it, and hope for the best? Should I book 2 days, or 2 different times? For this we would need 28 total. And then we would have to figure out who eats at which Brunch. At last count there were 18 people considering the Brunch.
These are our options:
1) Take the first 14 people who say they definitly want to attend. Which will leave at least two couple out. :(
2) Book two different times/dates, say Mon @ 10 am and Thur @ 10 am and try to fill both days. This could still leave some folks out, but may also enable someone to enjoy Brunch twice.:D
3)Or deep six the whole idea, and just have everyone book athe same day and time in the main room.
Any other ideas? Please let me know!
I will tell our travel agent that I will get back to her as soon as I can.

Cathy dress code for brunch is resort casual, no tank tops for us guys. Ave if it is too many for the private room, maybe we all could reserve the same time for the main area and sit close to oneanother. 2 brunches wouldn't be bad either:bounce:

Hello all! Barbara and I are planning to try and get reservations for the brunch a couple dinners and a high tea if we can how do we book now? Also I have a question what kind of documents do we need on the trip? Must we carry passports or does the drivers licence birth certificate suffice for this trip like the 3/4 day ones. Can we also book spa treatments early? We are so excited about going we did a packing rehersal already for suitcase size and number. The last couple trips we took we ended up sending a box of stuff home, not enough room, and I can carry about as much as a pack mule but enough is enough. We got our package and love it THANKS! and hope everyone feel great. Take care and we will sailing soon. George and Barbara:earsgirl: :earsboy:
