09/28/2002 Cruise

Hi Jean! So nice to hear from you. Sure hope you can join us for the cruise. We sure did have fun. Plan on going to feed the stingrays this time.:D

Cathy, that is my favorite store in the whole world! I love Home Depot. Lowes comes in a fast second. I would rather wander around those stores than go clothes shopping any day. I hate clothes shopping. In fact my DD2 usually goes for me. :D I hate it that bad.

We watched the Magic go by awhile ago. Mike was telling me that you and Art will be on the starboard side while Mike and I will be on the port side. I can hardly wait. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Gotta go the fud is ready. Steak, french fries, salad, hot rolls, and brownie for dessert. Yum.

Mary will trade you Mike for one month if you will trade George for one month that way you will have great meals and the recipe for creme brulee and I will get my rooms finished. Hey?:D

Also, what do you do at the hospital to have 'teams'. We really need a morale booster here at the Big "G" (General Hospital)

Take care, Kathy

Countdown timer that Psiklops (May 11, 2002) was kind enough to give......Just add this to your signature box in your User Profile. I simply Copied & Pasted it underneath my Flying Mickey.

Oaky...I tried to post the Code as it was written....but I didn't do it right, so here is what you do. Jim posted the code you need on Page 41 of the 5/11 thread
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=133650&perpage=15&pagenumber=41
and copy and paste it from there.

Would you please post the URL for Two Palms?

Hope everyone had a great day! It was beautiful flying weather here and we had Outback for dinner. Does it get any better than that? :p

Karen the url ishttp://www.twopalms.com Just watch the screen between about 5:15 and 5:45pm est or edt. The magic will glide across the screen. Speaking of outback, have you had the spotted dog sundae there? It is on the childs menu. It is a chocolate sundae with vanilla ice cream covered in the most delicious chocolate sauce topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Kathy and I get one and split it. It comes in a cereal size bowl that is big enough for 2 adults. Order extra chocolate sauce with it:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Found my first cache today. Weather was beautiful here in Nashville today. 70 degrees and sunny all day long.

My son cut the grass yesterday and I just finished fixing dinner. Took the leftover spaghetti, added more sauce and covered it in mozerella cheese and baked it in the oven. Fixed some white beans, cornbread, fresh corn and for dessert. Chocolate cake with a homemade vanilla sauce. Sweet tea to drink:D

Come on cruise!!!!! Oh Karen meant to say that not only can you see the magic sail on saturdays, but also the wonder and other cruise ships based at port canaveral with the occasional submarine. Mike

Hello Everyone! Spring has definitely arrived and only 5 days until we leave for DL. I NEED a Disney fix.

John I miss your singing.

Hi All, We were in Iowa for the week-end. Jean`s aunt and uncle were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. So we went up and ate our way through the week-end.
Haven`t cooked since Friday night. Kind of a nice change.

T-girl, I haven`t had much of a voice for awhile. Maybe last year`s kareoke scared it out of me. But let`s see.

There once was a guy from the flatland,
He developed a taste for sea and sand.

Got the cruisin bug real bad
When not on a cruise he looked so sad.

But come this September
He`ll have another time to remember.

Guess I haven`t totally lost it.

Later, ya`all John:D :D :D :D

I long for the good ole days of posting prior to cruising. No New York Lotto win for us.... yet!

I was going through our old 9/22 posts. I was in the section prior to reaching the 2,000ths post in the thread and Susan thought she got it but actually Peagreenid stole it out from under the 9/22's noses BUT DCL-Fan came to the rescue and deleted one of his prior posts to take the 2000ths away from Peagreen and put it back to Susan - a true 9/22. What a group! What a hoot!

SIGH - Those were the posting days......

Hi Rosemary:bounce: Good to hear from you. Hope you win the lottery and come on with us. We have a lively group going with us again.

For an update on DD2, better known to her Papa as "Prego" she called me last night to take her to school today. That third blood pressure pill is making her too sleepy to drive. I am driving her to school today for the hour and a half class. Then back home to rest. I just keep praying for Katie to stay put and school to end. Her hubby has to work today or he would take her. More bonding time for grandmommy.:D

Twinave, sorry about getting mixed up about your team and crediting Mary. But, what do ya'll do and what are the incentivies? We are trying to get the old ball rolling at work and looking for ways to get EVERYONE involved.

Gotta go, take care everyone, have a great week. Kathy

Hi Rosemary.

We are still planning on doing the parks after we get off the ship on the 5th of October. Have a room reserved in Kissimmee, but may change and stay on the property.

JNOEL ... So now we can get boked thru you and you can see that we get good rates and get placed next to each other on the ship! You know how us DIS family is --- want to be next to each other so we don't miss any of the actions and fun. Really nice to hear that things are working out for you. I'm hoping that you can come on the Cruise with us ... seems like another fun filled week of heaven without dishes!

Tuli - How are the Rich's doing. Say Hi for us. Keep buying those lottery tickets ... you only need a few grand to come along for the party!

Mike ... mailman came while we were out BUT AshLee let us know as soon as we got home to check the porch! How nice ... and I guess that really is me loaded down and headed to the beach.
The design is really cool too. Have a ? ... what will the full name of the new grandbaby be? I know it's Katie but I need the last name, along with the mom and dad's first names. Don't ask why,
I'm thinking again and that can sometimes be dangerous.

I do cross stitch and had this idea in my head and believe it or not, I was able to make myself a hands-free needlepoint frame out of PVC and a few elbows and t's. Cost less than $5 and works as well as the ones I saw in catalogs for $55+......saved $ good to Cruise!

Check back later.....

Hi Cathy, Katie's name is "Kathryn Lenora Klinger". I took Stacey out to school this a.m. The drive to her apartment took 40 min, the drive to school took an hour and the class time was 1.5 hours. Then it was a 1hour and 40 min drive back to Hermitage Tenn. to the nearest Schlotzsky's and then 40 min drive back to Stacey's apart. then back home. (1hr 40 min) Yes, I did do some backtracking but Katie has been raised on Schlotzsky's Mediaterian Pizza and their Turkey Bacon Club sandwich with a side of peanut butter cookies with a little mexican food thrown in for good measure. That is the only real "craving" that Stace has had. She briefly flirted with a strawberry craveing in the middle of November and December. Of course they weren't avalible unless you promised your first born.;) To make a long story short, Grandma needed a nap when I got home.:)

So glad your dust collector got there ok. We just knew it was you.:D Your longing for the beach was what did it. :D Then Mike and I saw it at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and the rest is history.

Take care everybody, Mike is fixing crawfish etoufee for dinner tonight. Yum!

Kathy

Scratched the crawfish, we are having teriyaki chicken, macaroni and cheese, along with waffle fries poatoes and something green:D

Glad that you enjoyed the dust collector Cathy. Have to run as Kathy is cracking the whip and there is dinner to fix;) Mike

Woohoo! You are right! Those were the days!

Thanks john for the little ditty!

JNOEL- sounds like you too are turning into your very own LS.... (you would have to be a 9/28/02 cruiser to understand that little joke) We'll have to compare notes.
smiles Patty

Kathy....I spoke to George about trading places with Mike, he wants to know "what's in it for him"??? I told him, the joy of hard work!!!LOL. The way he sees it he will have to work hard, NOT get fed, AND be away from me!!!Sorry to say he is not coming to Tenn. I am working on cloning him and if it works out I will send one of him!!
Our living room is almost done. The crown molding and baseboards are in, the curtain rod and new curtain is hung, and the trim is all painted. All that remains is to replace the electrical outlets, and hang the pictures back up.
Kathy have you reserved with Capt. Marvin yet? I really am looking forward to "StingRay Hickie"!The more I hear about Capt. Marvin the more convinced I am that it will be much better then the larger tours.
Is anyone interested in horseback riding in Cozumel, or bottom fishing at Castaway Cay? Last year I promised my son a fishing trip, but they were not offering the fishing at CC last Sept. He was very disapointed. I have NEVER seen an 8y/o who loves to fish like that boy of mine!He would rather fish then do ANYTHING else!He even watches those "fishing shows" on TV!
Mike , I see you now have your own "countdown". I guess you won't need me to count for you anymore:(
Cathy...what's up with the logo/t-shirts?

Mary we will always need you to countdown for us. It would not be the same if you didn't. We are both too large for horseback riding, that would be cruel and unusual punishment for the horses.

I am going to make the reservation with captain marvin for Kathy in the next day or two. Which one did you book again Mary?

I will try and digitize the logo tomorrow Cathy. For the last two days I have taken my dad to see his girlfriend who is in the hospital. She had both knees replaced at once. Daddy get confused sometimes with directions. He is 75 and still working at repairing tractor trailer tires.

Kathy and I are going to see Ice Age tomorrow. Mike

Mike, we booked the 1/2 day trip 10am -1pm. Be sure to mention the DIS group. I let them know others may be booking and we want to be on the same boat.

Glad I can still do the countdown!

173 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!

just swinging by.....to

bump......bump......bump........

Kathy, No problem about the mix-up. You may find this hard to believe, but it is not the first time someone confused the two of us. As far as the "team" thing goes, it works like this. There are 3 teams. Each team has a nurse, medical assistant, 2 receptionists, 1 file clerk, and 1 insurance person. Each team works together in one office (our practice has 3 locations). There are some exceptions, for instants, all the insurance ladies work in the same office. Each team is graded on a monthly basis. The grade includes things like attendance, patient comments, least amount of "no show" appointments, office cleanliness, % of co-pays collected, and so on. Each month a team "wins". That team gets lunch brought in (pizza, bugers ect). And a $10 bonus in your paycheck for each team member. The quarterly bonus is lunch out with the docs, and a $25 bonus. And the team that wins for the year get $150 plus 2 extra vacation days. Each team works in an office for 4 months, then rotates to the next office. I am my teams "leader", but there is a receptionist leader and a medical assistant leader. We just started this mid-Jan. so we are all still working out the kinks. But so far it's working well. Thanks for asking! I know it's a different situation in a hospital setting, but it is amazing how much something as simple as a pizza can improve morale. Oh, one thing I do for my team, the first Monday of the month, I make them breakfast. Last week I brought in a ham and cheese quishe (homemade of course), fresh fruit, and OJ. :) Ave

I am having such a hard time keeping everyone straight!

RellingTwin I did not realize you had an 8 year old boy. Where have I been or have I missed something.

I need a vacation. My mind is turning to mush.

Hi Folks. I have been checking out your thread every once and a while. Ellen and I will still be crusing on the eastern cruise September 21.

I realize it is early, but have any of you given any thoughts to a cruise week in 2003? Maybe Eric & Anj and Rosemarie and Rich will being joining back in that year :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

How about the rest of the lurkers from 9/22/01???? Dan & Scott?, Jerry & Laura? Robin & Mike? CarolAnn? SideShowBob and Ann?

When I look on the web for weeks in 2001 there are only two available (9/6 & 9/13). One of the ships must be scheduled for dry dock in late September.
