09/28/2002 Cruise

Kathy and I picked up a recliner for Stacey(the preggo)and delivered it to her apartment last night. She is coming down to go to the doctor thursday for an ultrasound and bloodpressure check again.

I am thinking strongly about doing the atlantis submarine excursion while you girls are feeding the stingrays. Any other takers for this excursion?

My dad loves the tortuga gold rum that we get in the caymans and so a shopping trip is in order also.

Mike

I am really excited about the cruise and it is only 5 months away! Will be getting together with friends who were on 3/23 in the next two days! Can hardly wait!!!

We did go ahead and get out passports. Figured we would do it since we were so far out and have it out of the way. Now we are ready for Sept!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, Still lurking. Like to see what all the friends from last year are doing.
We can tell you that the sub ride is fantastic. We took it at St. Thomas. Had a great time. Wouldn`t have missed it for the world. Seems kind of high when you first look at it. The one we were on, you board a boat and get a three mile trip out to the sub. Then down under for an hour or so. Then the ride back. It can`t be beat.
For all who didn`t know we will be at the Raddison the same night you will be there. And two of the ports at the same time. Maybe we`ll see you there.
Haven`t seen Panic room. Did see Blade 2. Not for anyone with a weak stomach. But we liked it. The last time we saw Ice Age. That is so funny.
Bye for now. You`ll be seeing me again. I`ll be lurking.
John

Hello! Hello! Hello!!! I am so glad that we will indeed see you and Jean even if we are cruising differently. Yeah! Have certainly missed you and hope all is well with you! Tell Jean HOWDY!!!!

Papa: Praying for good outcome with your daughter and grandchild. Please tell her to listen to her doc.
Rellingtwin: Glad to hear your living room furniture is now in your living room. Have you got the second bathroom fixed yet?
Having a great week here. Got a new nurse, she started Monday, and she looks like a keeper. Also my "team" The Starfish, won team of the month! As team leader I was very proud and surprised! Only 6 people on my team, 4 of which have been working with us less then 3 months.
Got to go help DH with dinner. He is the cook in this family, tonight we are having beef stroganoff. I do things like set the table, stir the pot, and do the dishes. Maybe he could get someone to give him a receipt for cream berlae (sp) LOL
Twinave....AKA Ave

John, I hope you can meet up with this crazy bunch at the Raddison!

TwinAve...bathrooms are as yet, unchanged. They are next on the fix up list. We have the tile and grout for the floors but are thinking of a MAJOR remodel of the front bathroom (replacing the tub with a stall shower, adding a closet, removing horrible wallpapaer, new celing, new light fixtures) so the floor will be the last thing done in there. I will be very happy if kitchen/livingroom/1 bathroom/ new windows and new floors and MAYBE outside stuccoed by the time we have our family reunion in late August. That will still leave the bedrooms and 2nd bath to do but I can wait for that a little longer.
Congrats on winning "team of the month" WAY TO GO!

I got some exciting news at work today. We are Moving to a new facility! This is a brand new building just behind where we are currently located. Our office will also "merge" with the "high risk" office which is currently on the other side of town.
We have also (as of 4/1/02) gone "Paperless". All electronic charting! Several of the doctors are very upset about this, they just don't feel right without that old "paper chart" in their hands. It will take some getting use to.

178 days to go!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone and thanks for the info about the left side. I thought I remembered to sleep on the right but it is the left. Duh! We put the babies on their right to help them with digestion. I am a baby nurse, not a pregnant nurse. But mostly, right now I am a worried Mama/grandmama to be. I forget my training when it comes to my family. :o I have heard that happens to a lot of nurses. Huh?

The recliner seems to be helping. Stacey woke up only twice night before last and one of the times was because she was hot in the chair and threw the quilt off. She said that Katie was kicking the heck out of her, the other time was to go the the outhouse.:D Her husband put the chair in the bedroom so they could still sleep together. Awww, how sweet.

Stacey and Eric are going for an ultra sound today. We think she is carrying Katie breech cause Katie tries to kick the door open, (or so Stacey tells me.) DD1 was born feet first so was their Papa. (My MIL told me he backed into the world. Don't know what it is with this family.:) DD1's hips were ok if anyone is wondering. Thanks for the prayers and pixie dust.

How nice, for you Mary. It sounds like your home is moving right along. Are you and your husband doing the work yourselves? Mike and I tried that ONE time and after the fur quit flying we called a truce and never finished. We need baseboards and some trimming. :o "One of these days". It really is my fault, I should have let the guy do the drywall for the $1000. He was the expert and could have made sense of the crooked walls. Malaligned ceiling and stupid floor. :D

I am taking a page out of your book Mary and buying things that I think I may need and putting it up for the trip. I need to get the thingy for over the door that Cathy suggested. That sounds wonderful for the small stuff to keep the cabin neater.

Are we all going to decorate our cabin doors? Cathy and Art, Mike and I are celebrating 30th anniverseries. (sp)

Take care, Katie will be here before we sail, got 8 birthdays (9 counting Katies) and then we sail. WaHoo! Kathy

Hope that everyone had a nice day. Mike

We will absolutely be there. Have the room reserved and car rented. Like last year I`m ready to pack now. The money`s in the bank and I`m ready to cruise. Think we will get passports. There may be other trips coming up that we will need them for. Alot easier than all the other papers you have to carry otherwise.
Went to Chilies tonight. Sirloin stacker for me, Fajitas for Jean.
Still haven`t found any friendlies who are as cool as the ones here. John:D :D :D :D

Cathy keep your eye out for the box I sent you. Will try to digitize the logo today if I get the grass cut;) Need to do something or else I will have to get someone to come and bale it for me.

Mary when you are through with your additions I could use your services:D

Time flies when you are having fun. Looking forward to meeting everyone in September. Mike

Yeah....we thought about cutting our grass today too. Am thinking that the 3 ft of snow that is still on the lawn might make it a little tough though. :D   :D   :D

Karen it has been on the cool side some this week. Started out Monday and it was 80 degrees. Last night and the night before it was below freezing. Going to warm back up this weekend into the upper 70's. When we were in Baton Rouge La 2 weeks ago it was 85 down there with beautiful azailias(sp?) in bloom and the spanish moss hanging from an 200 year old oak tree.

Think happy thoughts our northern brothers and sisters:bounce: The time changes in most places this weekend. That puts us another hour closer to our cruise. Mike

Our weather has been really nice. Cool by Charleston standards but summer with it's triple digits will be here soon enough!

Kathy "we" are doing the renovation work ourselves. Really George is doing it, I am just helping ( and picking out the stuff) . I got a GREAT deal on a blind for the living room window on E-bay! A 64X60 2'in wood blind for 62.00! The BEST price I found for a new one was 257.00! It arrived yesterday and is perfect! I just LOVE IT! when that happens!!!!!!

George builds houses for a living so he always wanted a "house to fix up". Boy did he get his wish!!!LOL
We bought this house from his dad. It is the house he grew up in and it has been a rental for about 15 years now.
I think the next house we buy,George will br happy to buy one "AS IS"!!!!
It is a LOT different building a house then it is living in it while trying to renovate it.

Got to get to bed now! Tomorrow we have to build a front porch, finish the hall floor, and put in ther baseboard and crown molding. Goodnight all!

OK Mike, You backed into the world .... Tooooo Funny! SO I guess if Katie is breech, she'll just be following in her grandfathers's butt prints! Couldn't resist that.

Anybody remember what the cabin doors are made of? I want to decorate our door too, Kathy. Just wondering how to get what I do on the door. If they are metal, a magnet will work .. if not, back to the drawing board.

I tried to figure out the land vs sea days ... I think that our actual 30th Anniversary is on a sea day. Would that be a formal night?

OK you guys .... I'm not letting AshLee read over my shoulder anymore. I'm afraid that the "ralphs" and "poops" might be contageous and I'm not in the mood to get out the scrub bucket for doggy yuck! Hope every one of them has cold wet noses and dry tush's today.

What's with TwoPalms ... again with the beach. What's up with that?

Anybody that sews and likes Snow White .... Walmart just got in some new material that is really cute. If I'm not mistaken, one of us likes the dwarfs!

Well gotta go ... breakfast calls and so does a trip to Home Depot. Got an idea in my head and want to get some supplies before it gets lost up there!

Check back later.

Cathy two palms is always a beach shot. If you watch the horizon from about 5:20p est till about 5:40 you will see the magic glide by.

Have developed an interest in geocaching. It is like a treasure hunt where you take a handheld gps receiver and find caches hidden in you area. These contain a logbook that you sign and sometimes they contain trinkets that you can remove and replace with some other nicknack. You can go tohttp://www.geocaching.com and check for any in your area. Something to do to get me out of the house and pass the time till we cruise. Going to look for my first cache today.

That is smart Cathy to not let Art go to home depot by himself. You are going to need some folding money for the trip:bounce:

MIKE!!! That looks like the coolest game EVER!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting it! DH is in the air right now, but when he gets back, I am going to show him the site. Not only is he a big Gadget Geek, (as discussed on the old 9/29 board) but he would love the challenge. Also, most of his friends are Gadget Geeks. This would be a great game for he and his partners to do with their employees at the managers meetings, it looks like. (They usually golf, or bowl or do paint ball in the summer with their managers.)

This sounds like the perfect game for Gadget Geeks and or Hunters/Outdoors types. (I have just named all of our closest friends!)

Plus, what most of the world usually has, we never have...so it was nice to see so many caches in our area!!!

Have you been playing it long? Tell me more about your experience!!!

(It is Saturday and someone will be boarding the magic soon!!!) (WIsh it was me!)

HI all you Disney Maniacs! I was just cruisin' through your chat thread and thought I'd say "hi". Things are going great for me! I am starting my own independent travel agency and working as office manager/business co-ordinator at the host agency. This gives me the best of both worlds, a real paying job, and a chance to make commissions doing what I like best, helping other people take great trips! Of course, I'll persuade everyone to take a Disney cruise and meet other great people just like you all! Granddaughter Hannah is getting big, 4 months old already! Still considering possibility of meeting up with you at the last minute, waiting to see how finances look come August. I'm glad you are still communicating and looking forward to your next great cruise. Has anyone heard from Dan & Scoot, TuliRose, or Eric and Anja? Hope all are well and good. Stop by to say "hi" sometime via e-mail. Take care.

Jean great to hear from you!!! Oh we do hope that you can make it that would be great. Tuli and crew are doing well as is Dan, Scott and bunch. Cathy and Art(goofynut) along with relling twin and her bunch are joining us.

Karen I just started geocaching today and didn't find my first cache yet. Ran out of time had to come home and fix the little woman some dinner so that she could go to work:D Need them bucks for the trip.

Cathy saw the magic go by on two palms at 5:34pm est. Mike

PS send me the code on how to include the countdown timer please Karen.

Jean (JNOEL) how nice to hear from you!I also hope you can join us in Sept.! Nice to hear DGD is doing well. I was hopeing to see Rosemary and family this summer on a trip to NY but it looks like I may not go afterall:( . I used to be able to fly into NY from Myrtel Beach for 118.00 on Spirit Airline. They are now either out of buss. or not flying that route, and the fares are now double that. I am still waiting to see if a great rate.
