I know they left a voice mail on our phone on the cruise saying they announced the dates and back by popular demand would be two stops at CC, so I assume it is going to follow the same CC-sea-CC day.

Oh and for anyone who has done cash and points for the cruise. How do you figure travel insurance. I got it last year, not though Disney but through another site and I paid all cash last year so it was easy to calculate the value. How do you do it if you use a combo of cash and points???

Good morning All

Is the 2007 members cruise board staying intact or are we going to use the 2008 board? I think we should use the 2008 board and let members be aware of the new board.
Everybody have a Magical day.

Each individual is insured, so if they are cruising on points, then the return on the travel insurance would cover $5 per point (not much). The person cruising on cash would fall under their cash guidelines. There will be a brochure in with your cruise ressie confirmation and you can give them a call with questions. They are the only company (Travelguard) that insures on DVC points I am told.

when you call about the insurance, whichever company, they'll ask you the value of the cruise. The points they figure at $5.00 a point and then the cash value will be what the cash price you paid. Did that make sense to 'ya??

In any event, the company will figure it out for you. Still comes out to about the cash value of the cruise.

Actually the one time that I paid cash and points is the only time I got trip insurance. Worked out well for us. I collected from my private insurance company plus the trip insurance company.

It just so happens that my personal insurance pays for my medical anywhere I am in the World.

NOW - it might not pay for me to be air lifted out of an Island somewhere.

BUT then again, the company (individuals) that does most of the air lifting from the Islands, is a very good friend of the family and they'd probably give me a break, if I ever needed it.

That runs anywhere between 20K and 30K. Very good business.

Karen and I were talking last night and since I'll be in Calif, I'm not sure I'll be awake for calling in - so she is definitely going to be trying from VA and I'll try and get up and get thru too - hope that I can remember - who am I kidding, I'll be wide awake! So, are we going to have the chat room open that morning?

We're going to try to go also. We've sailed three times on the Magic so a 4 day will be different. Can't beat two days at CC, though! :thumbsup2

WELCOME - and hope you get in to make your ressies w/o any problems.

Kay - GMTA!! LOL!

I purchased travel insurance from AAA for my Med cruise last summer. I was not insuring my points for the trip, however. I figure if something happened, I would eat whatever the penalty.

My air fares were covered via my credit card company, so we ended up purchasing just Medical, luggage and delay coverage from AAA. Very cheap and worth having for the "just in case". The medivac always scares me - it runs about $40K basic to med flight someone off the ship, yikes. Saw it done on CC once on one of my cruises. Scary...

Mary - you'll get in. "I think" Mary said she would do the chat room. I'm not sure. But she'll post if the chat room will be open.

I'll be on the Wonder and there will be lots of posts when I return. Look forward to reading everything and see who is confirmed.

We'll definately have the chat room open if anyone wants to meet in there on Saturday morning. I'll post the link here on the thread that morning. It does help add to the excitement of the day as people get through and also helps encourage those who haven't yet.

Dan - once everyone has booked this thread will be the main focus for most of us. Having said that many of us still post on older thread to keep in touch with friends we have made on those cruises. :)

Mark's been a little busy but we hope to get the wrap up on our 2007 web page up in the next week.

If there is interest we'll be happy to do the 2008 web page and gallery again as well.

Cool Beanage, Mary! We'll definitely be posting when (positive thinking!) we book. The chat room is a great idea although I agree this thread will be home base for us. It snowed here in Erie yesterday:guilty: I don't wanna even THINK about renewing my relationship with my snow blower this soon!:sad2:

By the way, thanks for the welcome, Kay. :wave2:

'ya know, Mary - it got down to 72 yesterday morning in Ft. Lauderdale and I thought I was gonna freeze. Went to work complaining :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I just could not handle snow and sleet - I feel for you, honestly.

Guess my blood is very thin living in Florida since 1953. :scared1:

Gary and Gail - the chat room just helps us get through that morning. This thread will definately be the place to get to know each other and to make any plans for the cruise.

Here's hoping all the DISers that want to get on board!

Gary & Gail - two quick questions for you:

1) do you both post or is it mostly one of you? If so which one?

2) just being nosey - what does HADD stand for in your signature?

Just all part of the getting to know you process. :)

PDFG and all who need it.

I hope we don't double book

1. I (Gary) do all the posting, with frequent input from my wife (Gail AKA She who must be obeyed). ;)

2. HADD stands for Have A Disney Day!!!! :mickeyjum

My other Disney favorite is WWWD : What Would Walt Do?

Back atcha, what is PDFG? I googled it and got some responses I can't post here. :rolleyes1

Hello.

We are thinking of booking the '08 SSMC but will have to take our DS (12) out of school.

Anyone else doing this and what are their ages? Our DS loves DCL but we'd like him to have a posse to run with if we book.

Thanks.

Have a Disney Day - I like that!

PDFG goes back to our December 2004 cruise. We sailed with a gentleman name Garry (the G). Our group sailed again in May of '06 but Garry couldn't join us because he's awaiting a liver transplant. We used to do a silly thing on those threads of celebrating who got a top page so we decided that every time one of us got a top we'd edit it to say PDFG or Pixie Dust For Garry to get him to the TOP of the transplant list. Then as other friends needed some pixie dust we added "and all our friends who need it".

One really cool thing that happened on our May '06 cruise was that we were able to have Don "Ducky" Williams do a drawing of Tinkerbell with PDFG on it for Garry. That's why I love the DIS boards so much - getting to meet and connect with people.

I hope we don't double book

That's the great thing about the chat room. If you are both in chat and one of you gets through and starts talking to an agent the other can hang up!
