What do you mean "... as you are announced..." and does anyone on here know anything about the special DVC pins that can only be purchased online or at the parks? Apparently they are already out of 2 of them. I wish they would give us those on the cruise!

I purchased the first 2 when I was down in May, the last 2 will be released one in August, the other in November. The first one is minnie in a car with MK in the backround. The second is Mickey, Donald and Goodfy driving a car with Epcot in the backround, the third will be Chip-n-Dale with Hollywood Studios. The fourth will be Mickey and pluto with AK. They are very cute and all have the DVC logo on them.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful thoughts about my grandmother...I really appreciated them!

Our dinner was very nice and relaxing...The girls were at Vacation Bible School, so we went out just the 2 of us. We were able to just sit and talk to each other with no interruptions...It was nice.

Congrats on the pirate! And yes I think DVC needs to give us some clue as to what the theme is, and what they are planning for us. I hope they don't wait until the last minute or drop the ball they way they did on the 2006 member cruise! Come on DVC!!!!!!

Hey everyone - could I get some clarification on drinks please? What drinks are included on board? What about on CC? Can a passenger bring a cooler of drinks on board? Do they have Splenda on the Wonder?

See below

Hey everyone - could I get some clarification on drinks please?

What drinks are included on board? Soft drinks are included at all meals and at any time from the drink station on deck 9. If you order soft drinks from a bar you need to pay for them. Alcoholic drinks cost no matter where or when you order them as do non-alcoholic versions of these drinks. Also "smoothies" (think milkshakes) are charged for as well.

What about on CC? Soft drinks are available for free at Cookies and also at the lunch area at Serenity Bay. Anything from the bar you pay for this includes bottled water you may order from a server walking around.

Can a passenger bring a cooler of drinks on board? Yes as long as it is a soft sided cooler and does not have ice in it.

Do they have Splenda on the Wonder? Yes they do!

When does DVC usually release the final information about the scheduled events for the cruise? Do we get an email or something in USPS? ;) We will get some idea from the website as far as guests. You won't know until you get the actual navigator the night before each day. For an example of these go to the web page (click on my member cruise logo below) and click on the 2007 link. One of the links is for the navigators from last year.

Just curious as to what things I should look for on the schedule that are a must do? I have heard that they give away lots of free stuff on the cruise, is this true? Our DVC Guide indicated that we should plan on taking an extra bag to bring home all of the stuff we will get. Yes you will get a number of gifts. Again if you look at past reports (available on the web page) you'll see what we've gotten in past years. As for must do things it all depends on what interests you. We enjoy all the special guests so make it a point to see most of them. We also enjoy the special shows they put on.

Thanks all for helping this first time cruiser and first time DVC Member cruiser, you are all very helpful. :)

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

Could someone remind me about bringing food on board? Basically I will be bringing snacks that I can eat with my dietary needs.

Thanks Cheryl

:badpc: I have to admit, I was yelling at my computer the other night. We received the infamous error message stating we didn't pay the cruise in full. So, we couldn't make our reservations. We received this same message last year for our December cruise too. :headache: This is a VERY frustrating glitch in the DCL system.

:rolleyes1 After about ten minutes of unpleasant words, DH was able to get through on his laptop. We didn't plan on Palo Brunch, but were VERY shocked it was already unavailable. ::yes:: Like mentioned, they DO hold back some reservations for onboard bookings too. So, there is still hope for those unable to book online. Good luck! :shamrock:

:cool1: We kept our fingers crossed and were able to reserve one of the Spa Villas on the At Sea day. I can't wait! Has anyone ever done this? We've done the couples cabana massage on CC twice and decided on something different this time. Also, we got Palo at 6 PM one night. In the past, we had 7 and 8 pm Palo reservations. I can't wait to dine there, when I can actually see out the windows. ;) I'm hoping for a sunset. That would be sooooooooooo romantic.

 Okay, I have to vent my frustrations to y'all regarding Air Tran. DH surprised me the other day and booked our flight for September (usually we drive from TX to FL). :scared1: Well, he checked on the Air Tran website and noticed our flights (BOTH) were not listed anymore. So, he called them and they told him the flights were canceled. They didn't even contact us to tell us this. There weren't any non-stop flights listed. So, he asked for a refund. We are waiting on the money to be refunded and then he is booking our flights through American Airlines. I sure hope they don't decide to cancel our flights and not tell us. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? :sad2: What really got me was that they DIDN'T contact us to tell us of the change. I don't see us flying Air Tran anytime soon.

Thanks Cheryl

You may only bring on and off the ship PRE-PACKAGED foods. You may want to contact DCL and tell your servers of any special dietary needs. :thumbsup2 They should be able to accomodate you.

Hi Jennifer! :hippie:

I don't know if I told you, but I did the Villa last December. It was awesome! They had to pretty much pry me out of there!

Sorry to hear about the Air Trans problems. But thanks for sharing. I'll be sure to avoid them in the future!

Wendy

Good morning everyone. Happy Wednesday!

Cheryl - My understanding was that you could pretty much bring on anything but you could only bring off food that was still sealed in its packages. So if you bring snacks make sure you'll only bring enough to finish on the ship.

Jennifer - sorry to hear about your trouble with Air Tran. We basically only use American and while they have changed our flights from time to time we always get an e-mail notification when they do.

Have a great day everyone!

We have 2 birthdays to celebrate today!

Happy Birthday Joanne!

Happy Birthday Tanya! (DW of manascarfan)

Member Gallery Update!

We've got the following additions/corrections to the Member Gallery:

Marylyn (Icydog) sent in updated information as well as a new picture of her and DH Bob.

Kristin (2Princess2Pirates) sent me a correction of the spelling of her name. I had typed it as Kristen. Sorry about that!

Milford (disrailfan) sent in the info for he and his wife Shawn (JCDisneyfan).

To get to the gallery you can go to the link in the very first post on this thread or you can click the Member Cruise logo in my signature (that will take you to our main page and then click the link down the page to see the pictures). It is a good idea to check over your own listing to see if I made any other typos like I did with Kristin's name.

Just a reminder that this web page and the buttons we provide are for the members of the DIS community. As happens every year I've gotten an e-mail from someone who doesn't appear to be a DIS member. At least they haven't posted on this thread. When that happens I send an e-mail back explaining and inviting them to join us on the thread. Until then they won't be added. After all the whole reason behind it is for DIS members to get to know each other and recognize each other on the ship.

Hi Jennifer - We have a story about Air Tran and cancellations without being told that is way too long to type out and much better with our exagerated tones of voice and facials anyway, so let's be sure to meet and share! We avoid Air Tran like the plague now, but we have taken them again when we couldn't beat the price.

Good Morning all. I so enjoy my DVC countdown watch from the member website. It opens each morning to show me how fast the time is counting down.

But the first line of business this morning is

Happy Birthday Joanne and Tanya. :jester:

We need to plan an on board Dis Meet. I know Mark and Mary have a lovely one planned for Saturday at BCV, but we need to make arrangements for on board.

Good point Robin! We have a tentative time set up of 3pm but where to have it?

We've had them up on deck 10 before and that has been successful as it is easy to get to, not a lot of traffic at that time, and if people have kids in the goofy pool they won't be far away. It is also an easy way for everyone to remember where to meet up to enjoy sailaway. The down side is if the weather is bad we'd need to find a new place and some have complained it is too hot up there.

Mark and I did a meet on our April cruise in the Promonade Lounge at 3pm. It was attended pretty well (we had a really quiet group on that cruise). The nice thing is that it is out of the elements, easy to find, and climate controlled. The down side is that people tended to come and just sit in groups and not really mingle.

So what does everyone think? Is one location better than another? Any other locations that you think would work? We'll be happy to put the final decision up on the website for all to see. Also does 3pm work for everyone? We've used it in the past as it is late enough everyone should be on board and it gives about 1/2 hour before you need to leave and get ready for the safety drill.

Hi Mary I think the the same place we had it last Sept would be fine. Do you know if we will know what location by the time we have our meet at BCV.
Been busy thismorning mowing the lawn. We have one of our kids here helping grampa. He's just old enough to use the riding mower with grampa watching.
Haven't heard fom Joan ina couple of days she must be busy with the wedding.
Evrybody have a great day

We have 2 birthdays to celebrate today!

Actually, three! Today is DH's 39th birthday.

 Happy Birthday Bill!

:cake: DD5 celebrates her 6th birthday during our cruise (September 23rd/At Sea day). I am still undecided on how to make that day "extra" special for her. Any ideas?

Morning all,

Last day of vacation here. Went to Muir Woods yesterday was very pretty and chilly.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. My sister is throwing me a party tonight even though I would rather not, but I guess you are only 50 once. I hope no one bring gifts-- I only have one suitcase. The fires here are awful. My nephew still hasn't called so we don't know how he's doing. He is at a fire up near Mendicino.

Have a great day.

Can we try for Palo on the 75 days or is that just for first timers?
