Winning a dinner there would be nice. We thought we might enjoy brunch more than dinner. Those of you who have done both - which do you like better and why?

Of the two I prefer brunch more.

For one it is during the day so you can enjoy the views a lot more than you can at dinner. For another reason I like that it is part buffet and part ordering. It is more relaxed. Mark and I aren't big dinner out people and at dinner at Palo I always feel more fussed over. Some people enjoy that but we don't. Plus I really like the regular resturants and being with our servers.

Everyone is different but that is my 2 cents.

Tina-sorry to hear about you grandmother. It's great that you have memories of her that you can go to when you need it. I miss mine everyday.

Enjoy your dinner though. :)

Do you have to book a time for kids to go to the clubs?

No, you only have to reserve time for Flounders (0-3). You are only allowed to reserve 10 total hours prior to embarkation. Once onboard, you can reserve additional hours if they are available.

:thumbsup2 The Oceaneer's Club and Lab are on a walk-up basis. Make sure to look at your Navigator (daily newletter) to make sure your kids are in the clubs for the activities they want to participate in. Our kids always love making Flubber and cookies. Also, make sure to bring a highlighter to mark up your Navigator. You can get a clean/new Navigator by Guest Services and at the kids clubs. You are only given one in your stateroom. I like to have extras for my scrapbook and they usually get bent or crushed from being used so much. ;)

Once we board, will it be obvious where to go at Route 66 to try to get a reservation for Palos?

Once you are on the ship they will direct you where to go. Last year we wanted to change our rotation because we have a certain dinner rotation we enjoy and the wait was minimal however there was a longer line for palo.

Oh now do tell! What rotation do you prefer and why? This is interesting. I had no idea the order of the rotation would have significance.

Mimi - when you check in they will give you some paperwork. One of the things on it will say the exact location to go to make dining changes or to book Palo. If it is Route 66 (where is usually is) here is all you need to do. You walk straight in as you are announced then when you are in front of Triton's you make a right (a left would mean you were turning into Triton's). Keep walking and you are at Route 66!

What do you mean "... as you are announced..." and does anyone on here know anything about the special DVC pins that can only be purchased online or at the parks? Apparently they are already out of 2 of them. I wish they would give us those on the cruise!

Button update. With a few new people stopping in the thread I thought I would remind everyone that it isn't too late to get on the list for the DIS buttons. The buttons are a gift from Mark and I (we do it instead of dropping gifts in the fish extenders). It is just a nice little way to identify other DISers. All we ask is that you are a regular DIS poster (and if you have posted on this thread you qualify for that) and give us your room number. The reason we ask for that is that in case you miss out on the meets we can get the buttons to you and then they won't go to waste (we've had past meets where we made buttons and no one picked them up). :( It also makes it easier to keep them in order (when you meet me at the DIS meet I'll ask you for your cabin number).

See the first post on this thread for where to send the info and what other info you can send if you want to be included on the web page. Please let me know if you don't want your cabin number posted.

The button cut-off will be September 1st which gives us time to make them and pack them up. Buttons will be available at both DIS meets.

Any questions just ask. Either here or by e-mail.

Now back to our regular cruise chat. :)

We like PTTA. That's Parrot Cay, Tritons, Tritons, Animators Palate. The first night, we really like casual dining, yence Parrot's. Then the more formal night and Pirate night are in the middle. We don't want to sit in formal wear in a less than formal place. Last year, I would have felt overdressed for the Legends Ball in my very dressy dress in any place other than Tritons. The last night at AP is perfect. The service is faster on the last night and we don't have to get very dressed up. That is the night you have to put your luggage out by 11pm, so it is easy to pack a pair of capris than it would be a fussy outfit. If this all makes sense, then you must be one of us.

Annette :)

Sorry Mimi - I keep forgetting this is your first cruise. Great questions.

1) As boarding starts you will be allowed to board by number (you get the number when you check in). Concierge is #1, then everyone else starts at #2. You enter the big mouse ears you show your ID and KTTW card and head towards the ship. You stop and get your picture taken in front of a large screen (a digital boarder will be added later). You then cross small walkway and you are at the entrance to the ship. A cast member will ask your family name and you will be announced. The Disney Wonder Welcomes Home the XXXXXX family. You are in the atrium!

There have always been special DVC pins in the parks. You just need to ask at the major pin shops and show your DVC card to purchase. In addition if this cruise follows past ones you will be able to buy a special Member Cruise pin and you will also get some as gifts.

If you check out the digital scrapbooks from our past cruises (links on the web page) you will see some of the pins we've gotten.

Hope this all helps and any more questions ask away!

Thank you for everything you do. I have all of the buttons you've made us

I learn so much from you all. Any other Palos preference information?
