09/21/08 SSMC08 S.S. Member Cruise 2008 - Part 3!

Good Friday Morning everyone.

Our back yard is currently flooded and its still raining:headache: Im thankful we only have a crawl space instead of a basement to flood. Otherwise everything is good in Michigan.

Mimi- Tell Kami, Steve and the little one Hi.

I know, we are so tired of rain also. Today I see sun!!!

have a great trip say hi to kamy & steve,

Good morning! We have the rain you all had today. It has gotten cooler. I am ready for 70's all the time.

Mimi have fun this week! Tell Kamy and Steve hello!

Mimi- Tell Kami, Steve and the little one Hi.

We will tell them hello from everyone!

We changed our vacation plans for this year - we wanted to take our kids somewhere while we can. We will miss cruising with those of you still going and hope to do so again soon! I'll stay on here with you though!

Just stopping by to say hi to everyone. Sorry to hear that some of you cancelled your cruise or switched to others.

Remember that each group is different and it is hard to recapture some of those special feelings and moments that happen. SSMC08 was a very special group and will always be near and dear to me. Even if we won't see each other in person in the near future we can all still connect here.

In fact I still correspond with people that we first sailed with in 2004 and we are sailing with one family this September and a number of the families next July.

This small little part of the web known as SSMC08 part 3 is our own little corner of the world to share things with each other.

:grouphug:

Thanks Mary you expressed our feelings very well.
Im hoping some day our old group could sail again together.

Dan

Yes, that was a fun group. I hope they do a seven day member some day.

Yikes good luck, we got a lot of water also, but no floods here. The rivers are cresting but staying in the banks,

Hey Mary! Good to see you here. It is interesting how the different groups have different temperaments. Not that I would expect them to be the same, but Mack and I got very spoiled with the SSMC08 group. We have often discussed whether it was the group of people or the fact that the majority of us were DVC owners thus a Disney affinity that not everyone shares. We always say it must be some of both. For those of you who have cruised DCL several times, and especially if you have done member cruises and regular ones, do you find the member cruises tend to have a different "flavor" because of that affinity for Disney?

I would like to see our old group get together maybe in 2011 on the new ship.

Dan

I would love to do this Dan! I would also love to go to Ko'Olina (Did I spell that correctly?) for our 20th anniversary in 2012.

Hey Everyone - Kamy and Steve are doing great! Kids are hilarious - currently chasing Steve around the kitchen through the learning room (dining room serving a renewed purpose).

I'll let you know in November!!!

Let's see 2012 - that would be 45 for us!!

A 7-day member would be amazing but also prohibitively expensive. I would love it though!!!

I think you're right.

Hey Everyone! Dan - good luck at the doctor's today.

Nancy - I saw that post. Let's start planning a trip to Ko'Olina in 2012!! 45 years - that is amazing! My folks got 44 together, and as their children, we considered that quite a testimony and blessing!

OMG, I don't know if I can think that far ahead!! But I suppose I can put it in the very very long range forecast!!!!

Hi All! We're back. We had a great time with Kamy, Steve and the kids. I will post some pictures. Come join Facebook so we can all share pictures and news more easily! Mary is there too!

Hi all,

How crowded was it? The crowds here are awful. I guess the springbreakers are here in full force.

It is a different feel on the member cruise, the crowd is older and less kids. The regular ones have ports to visit and more stuff to do on board.

Both are great though. I think we just have more in common with the DVC'ers. 2008 has to be my favorite group, but I prefer the 7 days to relax and be a tourist.

Crowds? Not sure to whom that was directed, but we were only at Hoop-dee-doo and it was not sold out at the 9:30 on a Monday show. It was still the same lots of fun and good food!

I am ready to have my kids at the OBX for a week and ready to be at the beach with my hubby later in the year for a week, but I do hate missing the cruise. Another year - soon!

I just joined Facebook last weekend - I looked for you but couldn't find you. You'll have to find me.

Good point - 4 days went by awfully fast, but I think it was definitely the right thing for our 1st time - and 2nd and 3rd!!!!!
