09/21/08 SSMC08 S.S. Member Cruise 2008 - Part 3!

Hey Peeps :)

Joanne- sorry to hear about the job. I know that you will find something that you like better :)
I may be in the same boat in a month. They are doing a different "operating model" to "better serve the customers". Yadda, yadda, yadda. We may be going from 12 supervisors to 5. Since I'm the highest paid sup in the smallest department (revenue wise), it may be me. I have been told by my General and Assistant Managers that they will take care of me (whatever that means). I am hoping for the best. I will sell my soul before I cancel our cruise. Isn't McDonalds always hiring?:rotfl2:

Kathy & Frank- a night in the Big Apple sounds really good. Did you do anything dining while there? We've been to NY twice and would love to go back again.

Mary and Cheryl- so glad to hear from you :)

The 5k was great! Amanda got her personal best! Now, I want to do the Princess Half Marathon next year. We'll see.

It is great to be back with our friends :) Have to make dinner. Will be back later.

Annette

Good morning everyone! So nice to see this thread active again. Hope you are all enjoying the planning for your cruise.

Mimi - sounds like Mack was sick. Sorry I didn't know that. Hope he's feeling better now.

I really miss chatting with all of you so I hope you don't mind me popping in here and chatting. Just didn't feel comfortable doing that much on the BOB thread.

BTW we've done a couple of Eastern cruises so if you have any questions about St. Martin or St. Thomas ask away!

He was pretty sick, Mary, but he is better and of course - nothing compared to you. He had to go through two rounds of steroids and two rounds of pretty strong antibiotics to knock out pneumonia. Thanks!

Good morning all,

This is much easier.

We had some bad news yesterday- I am being laid off. 5/15 will be my last day. They are moving our accounting dept to Dallas, I can keep my job if I want to move to Dallas. Not.........

We are still going to cruise, hopefully I will find something, if not you will see a very tan person in October. But I believe all things happen for a reason and we will be ok. I am just mad at how hard I have worked the last few months for nothing.

I am so sorry you are in this position, but like you, I know God has a plan and will take care of you through this.

Glad to hear mack is better,

Thanks!

The spring break crowd is here, usually spring break & Easter are worse than summer. But it's nice to see and the weather is nice. been foggy in the am but sunny by lunch.

I wish we were there - our neighbors are going to Ft. Walton this weekend just for a fun weekend trip.

Good for you! Time to start reaping the benefits of all that money you've paid into the system!

My guess is they'll give you some kind of package too.

I am SO glad to hear that, since me likey Mikey! :thumbsup2

That sounds fabulous (especially the shopping part :woohoo: ) Have a great time!

I'm also excited to be back here with you guys!!! :yay: I guess we can all say WELCOME HOME because that's sure what it feels like! :grouphug:

He does seem to be a pretty decent guy - I am glad.

The move went well. The new place is great. Todd is good, he says he is breathing easier in the new apartment. ( I suspected the house had mold) His job is doing good.

Our new addition is a Bichon ( he is 4 months old) . We got him after we lost our chow. Going through puppy stage is fun.

I love Bichons - pictures, we must have pictures!!!!

Mary - so glad round 1 is over! You hang in there!!!!

Good morning everyone - just wanted to stop in and say Happy Friday! Hope you all have a great day and a great weekend!

Happy Week end to you also.

Mimi- hide in the trunk. It has been beautiful so I hope it holds for the week end.

happy friday all.

Good Morning Everyone! :sunny: Happy Friday the 13th!

Well, looks like I escaped the axe one more time. My company had announced about a month ago that we had 175 'excess resources' that would need to be 'force adjusted' by the end of March (translation: 175 people were getting laid off by the end of this month).

The good news: I'm not an 'excess resource'
The bad news: I have to pick up more work (now I'll have 3 jobs) :thumbsup2

Fortunately, my new job is made up of new work. The last time I picked up another job, I had to take over the work from someone who was getting laid off. That wasn't fun, since she had to show me her job before she left. :scared:

Have a great day everyone!

Congrats on being under the radar. I am hoping we have seen the worst and we are on the way up. :)

Very cute Cheryl. Did you stay with the name Jasper for him or did you name him something else?

Mary: He was unnamed when we got him. He was named after Jasper Jax of General Hospital

He is adorable, Cheryl! Thanks for posting the pictures!!!
