We are styaing at OKW post-cruise, will they ship a box back for us, and what the approximate cost is?

How does the swag work? One per room or one per person?????

Traditionally the DVC gifts have been one per person. Not sure about OKW as far as shipping but I know people have shipped things from Boardwalk and Beach Club. Also if you have a car there is a UPS store not far from OKW over by the Publix (near the Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine and the old Dolly Parton Dinner show).

As to cost - that is going to depend on how big and how heavy the gifts are. In 2006 we got scrapbooks that came in beautiful (and heavy) boxes!

Well we hit two more planning milestones in our house.

1) The luggage is out of the attic and in the dining room!

2) Our road trip book is done. Ok we've driven to FL enough that we don't really need maps but we love putting together a road trip book. It has step by step maps, copies of our hotel reservations for down and back, our cruise contract and the every import locations of Sonic and Chick fil a. :lmao:

Wow, I was gone for the long weekend and I came back to start reading from page 108. Whew!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I am anxious for the cruise!

Member Gallery Update!

We have another update to the Member Gallery. Please welcome Diane (Disneyokw) and her Mom Barbara. Diane is a long time DISer who doesn't post much but I hope she stops by to say hello.

Since the next couple of weeks are going to be crazy at work for both Mark and I this may be the last update we do. I'll be getting the listing to Linda on the 12th for inclusion in the mini-navigator.

For anyone who is still lurking or who joins us in the next couple of weeks we will have some blank buttons at the DIS meets so please come and join the fun.

We have 50 families signed up and we are making 123 buttons! This is going to be a great group and I look forward to seeing my fellow DISers all around the ship. Here's a hint for when you get your button. The lanyard they will give you at the port is kind of like a bolo tie (string). If you put the pin of the button through that it is easy to wear all the time and won't get holes in your clothes.

You can see the lanyards and buttons in this photo from 2006:

Mary - at least I think it was Mary who posted this - what information should we print on labels for our luggage tags? Also when are these tags attached to the luggage? Is this done at the port or on the ship the night before we return?

Information needed is:
  • Number of pieces of luggage (1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3)
  • Stateroom number
  • Name
  • Address (including city, state and zip code)
Make those up in advance on your address labels. Then when you have to pack it will make it a little quicker. Plus by being printed it is easier for the porters who unload the ship to help keep your pieces together. Tag measures 4 inches wide by 2.5 inches tall to help you figure out which size label to use.

I've quoted the part from the tip of the day that shows what info you need. The tags are attached to your luggage when you put them out on the last night of the cruise.

It wasnt tikimini, it was tikimack

Catching up so this is a few days late, but alas, yet, twas I ---- It was a dark and stormy night. TikiMack the pirate clung to the main mast just above the height reached by the dimly flickering oil lights. Suddenly he pounced, TikiMack swung out from the mast, snatched the double pirate and vanished over the side of the ship. Deep in his heart he felt sorrow for those he had plundered, then he remembered - PIRATE! and all was well...

Wait, don't answer that!:rotfl:

Despite your request, I will answer anyway - NO - you are not crazy, well at least you are no crazier than the rest of us who try to get one and flip out when we do it! You are among equally crazy friends! :joker:

I was beside myself when I found this ---> :donald:

Congratulations on your pirate! AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!

Okay, I finished our door signs today. They are pretty basic, but they came out OK. I've also printed some castmember thank you cards (I found the templates for these somewhere on the DISboards, was it here?). I even have my pirate costume ready to go.

Door Signs :thumbsup2

Ok, what am I forgetting? :confused3

Wow you guys are getting ready. All I have had time for today is if youcan beleive it floating in the pool and making dinner & lunch and doing my H & R block home work. I never realized how hard this is after notopening a book in soooooooooooo many years.

Gustav made for a rainy morning and just a very windy afternoon. I was so tired of watching TV I needed to get out.

Hope every one has a great back to work day, I don't even want to think about home much work I have for the next three weeks.

The DISigners board has a lot of cute thank you cards. I asked one them to design some for me for the cruise, and she did. They are so cute! I am looking forward to using them!

Too organized for me. ;) I am just hoping to get all my stuff printed off for the cruise and in the carry on luggage.

Spent all day car shopping. We are going to trade in my beetle :( I hate to lose my baby, but it is far too little a car when your family includes a teenage boy that won't stop growing.

I have decided to try to sell my car on my own. The best offer we got was for $5,000 less than I have seen the exact same car being sold.

So, anyone driving down to Florida want a VW Beetle convertible ;)

Just kidding

New Orleans caught a Lucky break, this time:thumbsup2 . Now what about the two hurricane's that are in the Bahamas:confused3 . Lets all hope that Castaway Cay makes it with out any problems:worship: :worship: .

Mary, where should we all meet to get our pins that you spent soo much time on?

Anyone else staying at AKL before the cruise?
