Good Morning everyone!

Hanna is on her way to NJ so I have a bunch of errands to run before she gets here.

I bet there will be at least one pirate pirate: today, since a lot of folks will be staying in because of Hanna. I promise to stay out of the 'pirate runs' today!

b/t/w there has been a lot of talk about the private room at Palo's. I know that Joanne had compiled a list of the folks that wanted to do brunch, tried to book the private room and and was told it wasn't available. I'm pretty sure that Joanne/Roger, Tikimimi/Tikimack and Frank & I will be arriving at the port around 10, so we should be in an early boarding group. So, if Joanne has a list, it couldn't hurt to try one more time, once we get there. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I do have the list. I will print it out and bring it.

Good morning everyone!
Tikimimi- love your Vero story! We absolutely love it there as well!

I cannot believe it is only 2 weeks!!!! :cool1:
I still have to go through my clothes and see what I might need to go buy. I am hoping it isn't much, but we will see.

Good morning all,

Tina- hope all goes well.

You guys were busy yesterday. Congrats on the pirate.

Ds # 2 came home from college. So we were busy. We had pool time, church and dinner and then played games. Did manage to do all his laundry and bake some goodies. This am I am loading him up at the grocery store have a cook out for lunch, baking a few more goodies then sending him on his way about 2. His girlfriend is in a soriety so they have to be back by 6.

Have a great day all and in two more Sundays it will be us!!!

I went on the DCL website to look at the online check in stuff. It said I am linked to 5 or more reservations, but didnt say who. How do I find out who I am linked with????

Well Hanna blew by the State of Maine last night and early this morning with a big bag of rain with no wind. Right now the sun is coming out so it looks like the Blue Angles will get there last show in this afternoon. This will be our last air show at the Naval Air Station it is due for closing in 2011.
It doesn't possible but a week from today we will be on our way . Overnight in Boston Sunday night then fly out at 7:00AM Monday morning.:smickey::smickey::smickey:
13DAY'S 15 HOUR'S WE ALL WILL BE CRUISING:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:.
Joan to bad you couldn't find a way to bring some of those goodies you baked with you on your trip:rotfl::rotfl:.
Everybody have a great day.
GO PATS and RED SOX

Ours says that also.

I am glad every one survved Hanna. Even with the silly knock knock joke-I would love some of that chocolate.

Glad you like it. I thought it would be nice to end with a maritime prayer and I must admit I picked that one for two reasons a) it mentions the Irish and 2) it fit in the space I had left. :)

I'm so thankful that he has offered to do this for us. I can't think of a more special way to start off the cruise than to celebrate Mass with my DIS family.

Same here, it's a nice way to start a vacation.

Welp, from your friendly neighborhood weather reporter,

I have the good and the bad.

The bad, as you know by now is Ike's looking more and more like another Gulf hurricane. And after *just* reading a report by the Army Core of Engineers that anything stronger than a cat 2 hits N.O directly, the real possibility of worse than Katrina flooding with plain massive, and possibly permanent levy failures exists. I hope like anything they get another miss. The fact is a large part of country depends on the Port of NO for oil, natural gas and grain/freight shipping on the Mississippi.

And that's not even counting the fact large areas on the shore are still just starting in on cleanup from Gustav. :(

Now for the good, Josephine, the one that had the real possibility of disrupting the cruise has dropped completely off the radar. They have suspended all tracking of it, and are now just keeping an eye on it in case it strengthens back into a tropical depression.

The gas issue was a problem after Katrina, I hope Ike mellows out a little. It's still too far out for them to know exactly where it will hit. I don't like to wish it on any one but I hope it's not us. If it hits here next week end then we are supposed to leave on Friday! It takes loner than that to get electricity back and get cleaned up.

Happy Sunday all.

C'mon! What's a tropical storm without a stupid Knock Knock joke. It worked, didn't it? ;) I must admit I was not the author. A little kid told me that joke.

Unfortunately, I did not survive Hanna totally unscathed. I live in a townhouse and looks like my management company 'replaced' my working sump run off hose with one that had a big hole in it. The water being pumped out was coming right back in! So I was out in the middle of Hanna duct taping the broken hose. (Now I can see why guys love duct tape!) Also, one of my gutters backed up and water was coming straight down one side of my townhouse and into my basement. No standing water (the sump pump did it's job), but stuff on the outside wall of the basement is soaked, so I will be spending a good part of today cleaning up.

Fortunately, all of this is just an inconvenience, nothing compared to what other folks are going through. I thank God I have a house to live in, leaky basement and all! :upsidedow

Glad it was nothing major, hope you get it cleaned up and get some fun time today.

We don't have basements in Florida so if the water gets to bad it gets close to the house, but that's why we have flood insurance.

Me too, wind, rain and some flooding, but nothing as horrible as Haiti from the sound of it. Now for the chocolate- Do you know there's two different Cadbury chocolates? The Cadbury you can buy in just about any store around here is made by Hershey under license. The 'real' Cadbury chocolate is made in England, and you can buy it in the Twinings shop in the England pavillion in Epcot. There is a very distinct difference between the two.

That was the Magic sailing directly past Hanna. As of now, we shouldn't see anything like that when we sail, especially the cc-sea-cc days as we'll just be coasting around the inner islands near CC where the seas are always very calm.

:lmao: I plan to take a big box of Bonine! I usually need it only on the first day, but if these storms keep coming, I will need it every day!!! For some reason the first night I get all quesy. Bonine always helps me. That, and some of those tasty drinks! LOL!;)

Anyone know about the linked ressies?? I see I am linked to other ressies but can't figure out who. I know some of you mentioned seeing names of who you were linked with. Thanks!

No I didn't know there was a difference. I will have to try both now!

I know when we lived in Germany the white chocolate crunch bars were delicious.

Yes, one of my co-workers is married to an English woman and he brings the 'real' Cadbury back whenever he visits. But I didn't know you could buy the 'real' Cadbury in EPCOT. Maybe Mary should make that the next Tip of the Day! :rotfl2: Thanks for sharing!

Joanne - that is Andy's (Verandah Man) video isn't it? Saw it on the main boards yesterday. Yeah the Magic was rocking and rolling on the 5 night cruise.

The Cadbury from England has a higher cream (thus fat) content but it is ohhhhh sooooo gooooood!

Kathy - sorry to hear that Hanna caused you some problems. Hopefully the sun will be shining today and the clean up is quick and easy.

Glad Hannah didn't do to much damage to anyone. Have fun cleaning out the basement. I've been there before.

Nice story tikimimi...that's so sweet. It's people like us that make being a DVC member so special.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!!!!

Yes that's Andy's. I hope the storms are long gone in two weeks.

I am off to the commissary, I am going to check out the chocolate, they get some stuff from overseas for the military shoppers.

Just look on the back, you're looking for ones that do not say Hershey on them, and list the price in pounds. :)
