From the Member Cruise website (no it isn't new). Who here is planning on being in the group picture on the beach? Some people don't care for it but we've been in every one. How about you?

I PLAN IT SINCE THIS IS OUR FIRST CRUISE I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO ME
BARB:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :flower3:

Dan - I was able to book it at the 90 day mark online. Mary, Karen, Robin, Mike, Mark and I have been linked for dining since right after we made the reservations. I offered to try and get Palo for us and since we were already linked I just had to select all when I made the booking. Didn't quite get the time we wanted as the early times booked fast but I was able to get a table for the 6 of us at 11:30.

we will cheerfully take thier spot. We got screwed, there was a computer glitch when we were booking and our reservation got bumped.

One piece of good news on the storm front. Josephine is no longer a hurricane or tropical storm. It has been downgraded to a tropical depression. Now if we could just make Ike go away!

Or if the private room is unavailable, is it possible for those of us who get there early to try to reserve a table for brunch or dinner for a group? Does everyone in the group have to be present to make a reservation? I don't know how that works.

That would be awesome if it works out!!!, what do you think NJPrincess?

There is no spot to be taken. The 4 other people we booked for are all cruising and doing dinner and brunch with us.

Welp, from your friendly neighborhood weather reporter,

I have the good and the bad.

The bad, as you know by now is Ike's looking more and more like another Gulf hurricane. And after *just* reading a report by the Army Core of Engineers that anything stronger than a cat 2 hits N.O directly, the real possibility of worse than Katrina flooding with plain massive, and possibly permanent levy failures exists. I hope like anything they get another miss. The fact is a large part of country depends on the Port of NO for oil, natural gas and grain/freight shipping on the Mississippi.

And that's not even counting the fact large areas on the shore are still just starting in on cleanup from Gustav. :(

Now for the good, Josephine, the one that had the real possibility of disrupting the cruise has dropped completely off the radar. They have suspended all tracking of it, and are now just keeping an eye on it in case it strengthens back into a tropical depression.

Wow you guys have been busy...2 pirates in one day!

Well yesterday was a very stressful and interesting for me. Tim left to go to work, and called me abbout 20 mins later to say he was having a kidney stone pass and was heading to the ER. I met him and drove him to the hospital(the same one his grandma was in having her surgery that afternoon). They ended up doing a surgery later last night to remove the stone, it was 7mm, and told us he has 3 more that are rather large. His grandma had her surgery and came out ok we were told. But by 5 pm as Tim was going into surgery we found out different. She threw a clot and had a massive stroke. She has no use of the left side at this point. Its wait and see for us, they said if she can make the next 48-72 hours with no more swelling, no more clotting, and no more stroking, then she will most likely survive. So when Tim came out of his procedure, the first words he asked were hows gram? It was so hard for me to tell him...but I didnt want to lie.

I will probably not be around much, but will keep you posted as we know more. As of now we are still going on the cruises, but only time will tell.

I'm so sorry, Tina. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. And a little pixie dust never hurts. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hi Mary :wave2:

I would like to be in the group picture, but I can't speak for Frank.

We are getting to the port early, as are Joanne/Roger and the Tikis. We are all going to head right for the Palo reservations. I believe Mary said that all we would need is names & cabin numbers to book for someone else. I know you said you were interested, as did Annette & Amanda, and that you guys will be arriving later on the cruise buses. I can't promise anything, but we will see what can do. There's a good chance there aren't any brunch reservations left.

Remember too that what might be left are smaller tables of 2 or 4 people.

Well after all that rain from Hannah last night we had a beautiful day here in NC. Went shopping, had ice cream and did more shopping :cool1: Actually found some eye patches for everyone, skull tights for me and Ahja, little girl pirate costume for Jhana, skull tights & hat for Gina and a cool pirate hat for X. We are ready for Monday night!

Hope all those that are in Hannah's path do OK. Do some packing...we only have 15 more days til we cruise!

Tina...we'll be thinking about you and your family.

Good point. We will just have to hope for the best. It's not like we'll starve if we can't eat brunch at Palo. I hear they have food in other parts of the ship. ;) We will have to count on you guys to smuggle out some of that fabulous Palo pizza.

We changed our pickup to 9 AM so we will be at the port by 10!!! I'm sooo excited that we will have some to time to hang out with you guys before we board :grouphug: It will also give us a chance to plot our Palo strategy. :chat:

So I guess you are not taking the WDW transportation.

Do remember Nancy and I from last years cruise? As you know are dining together
