My two little guys the day after Christmas. Bella (the rescue) is in red and Skylar is in dark blue...

My son Bob's dog is named Bella, and she was a rescue (sort of) from a friend who didn't want her. Only she is just slightly larger than your Bella - she is a pit bull, but the most gentle thing you've ever seen in such a big dog.

My kitty cat's name is Bella!! Love her to pieces!

Deb and I are flying down late Tuesday the 13th. We would land at almost 10 PM. I am now thinking about coming down on Sunday the 11th with my DS11 and have some Father/Son time alone in the parks. If I do this, Deb is left with our DD8 who has not a clue of her surroundings because of special needs to a certain extent. Deb thinks it will be a nightmare going through security with her. What should I do? I reserved a rental car last night for the extra three days, thank God cause it doubled today!!! Obviously I would make it as easy as possible for Deb to fly down on Tuesday with luggage. I would take as much as I could when I fly down. Extra cost would be about $500 - $600 (extra car, Tix, airfare) not including food. I think it's worth it. What do you all think?

Well, I think any "extra" time with your child is great...especially when you are at Disney. I honestly don't think money is ever really a big factor for me...so I would say do it. No amount of money can compare to memories you and Brandon will be sharing. I think Emilee and Deb would be ok. Like you said...you would take as much luggage as possible and flying out late afternoon, early evening shouldn't be that bad from Midway, right?? It's the morning you have to worry about. I bet they would be just fine. I think you should do it!!!!!!!

You forgot to mention that I get frazzled and stressed really easy when we're in a VERY BUSY atmosphere such as an airport where she could take off in a split second and I'd lose track of her. The thought of keeping track of luggage and her just scares me. So, as long as we can pack light (HAHA!!! Yeah right!) and Junior can take most of the luggage with him and Brandon then I SHOULD be fine. *Sigh*

Terrie - that was some really good advice! I like the special ticket and coupon ideas! She has been to the airport at least half a dozen times so she's familiar with the whole process, but like Junior said, she's just in her own little world most of the time and doesn't pay attention to her surroundings very well. She walks into people all the time. One time I almost got into a fight with a couple at the check in counter because they placed their hands on her and moved her away from them. I almost LOST it! I ALMOST asked the lady at the counter to call security....I just couldn't believe they did that!

As an alternative to carting extra luggage on the plane, maybe shipping it would be easier. I did a quote for a standard bag at 49 pounds and it was two dollars more than an extra bag would cost me on JetBlue. If you factor in that you do not need to worry about moving around the bag, checking, picking up, etc. It is worth the two dollars in my book. You ship it to your resort 3-4 days ahead and it will be there when you are. Just add the three "w"s before this and you will see what I am talking about theupsstore.com/products/pages/lug.aspx

You all had a chance to meet my two "little guys" in their video premiere yesterday. To be fair, let me introduce you to my oldest, Angel. She was born in the local dog shelter and came home with me the day she was weaned from her mom. We are pretty sure she is Shepherd/Chow/Huskie/Rottweiler mix lol.

Bella was given a pink stuffed doggy for her anniversary gift. Normally she destroys stuffed animals in record time. This one, she has made her constant companion. Below you will notice she is napping with it on top of my dad, who is napping with her...

I am thinking of "certifying" all three of them as service animals so I can bring them on the cruise instead of having to leave them at home lol. :lmao:

We just got off the phone with the Wendella Boat folks to reserve our spots for the 3:30 tour on 6/18. For those who haven't called them to reserve your spot, I would highly recommend that you do it soon! If you have a Groupon, you MUST call to reserve! To make it easier for you to call them here is the number 312-337-1446 and then use option 1. See ya real soon!

Ohhh, thanks for the heads up. I did not know this. Guess I didn't read the "fine print". :confused3

Eight more days until I can make ADRs for our "after Christmas" trip!! Am going to try and get into CRT!! Wish me luck.:wizard:

Told my principal I was taking five days to go on a cruise. Don't think she was too happy, but ya only live once right?? I am going to take two personal days and three dock days. Good thing my evaluation was "this" year and not next year. :thumbsup2

Hey Karen! How about a mini-DISMeet in Portland during mid August? We will be there for the PDX Adult Soapbox Derby. Quite the adventure! Our oldest DD (Fuzzy Mae) always builds a car and I am her co-driver.
