I love to bake. But, I don't do it often. Too many blood sugar issues in this family. We don't need the extra carbs.![]()

Who's diabetic?
Me (I'm 4th generation type 2). And Jason swings between diabetic, pre-diabetic and not diabetic depending on his diet and how much he exercises. Kyle has reactive hypoglycemia. And Jason (and hence, our boys) are descended from an American Indian tribe that has the highest diabetic population ration on earth.![]()
I'm diabetic also, type 2. July 3rd will be 4 years since being diagnosed. Do you keep it under control pretty well?
My mom and both uncles had or have it, one has since died. My grandma and her sister both had it too. I'm the first of the cousins so far but I am the oldest so there should be more on to follow.
Jason's brother is type 1. He wasn't diagnosed until he was an adult. He's now considered a "fragile diabetic". Especially scary because he has twin two year old girls and three step daughters now.
I don't check my numbers regularly at all. I used to, but I have learned what my body does. I do get my a1c taken though, my last one was 6.0!![]()
Yeah, I'm the same way. I know what it feels like when my numbers start to climb. So, I don't bother testing too often. Great job on the 6.0! Before I went on my pills, mine was at an 8-something.Haven't had mine checked in a while. I need to get back in and see the doc again.

A coworkers son was diagnosed type 1 when he was 24, he was always sick as a child and never could figure out why. Now they know. I worked with son last fall and noticed sores on his hands that never heal.![]()
But his is Type 1I was over 13 when first diagnosed!!!
