Dyngus Day this year is on Monday, April 25th. I won't be downtown this year...I just don't have as much fun down there as I used to.

How did your bowling balls end up?

It was funny, when i got to the RAINBOW BRIDGE I told them i was going over to North Tonawanda to get my BOWLING BALLS BAKED:rotfl2: I was also over paying my Macys bill. I was at the AUD when Buffalo lost to MONTREAL in 4 straight , the first time they were in the playoffs. Back then I was a BIG HABS FAN!!!!!!! We sat in the ORANGES a few times. Front row. You couldnt lean forward or you would of been in the GOLDS:rotfl2:

Our 1900 Park Fare reservation is for 5:45. I've heard they consistently run late. Do you think we'll have enough time for dinner and to get back to BLT for the fireworks at 9:00? I'm thinking I may try to get an earlier reservation somewhere just to be on the safe side.

I don't know. Wally and Terrie would probably best answer that. The fact that all you have to do is hop on the monorail to get to BLT is definitely in your favor. Deb and I had a 7:30? reservation at La Celliar and had to go from there to BLT by 9:00. Talk about being rushed!:scared1:

Ian I first met Brian many years ago when he was working in the NHL office. He spent many nights @ MSG and got to meet him on many occasions. I agree he is doing a great job in Toronto and I hope the fans have patience. All they have to do is look at Vancouver and see that Brian was responsible for the core of that team and then look at his success although brief, at the Ducks. Toronto was in far worse shape than the other franchises he took over and he was straddled with too many long term contracts with over the hill players(reminds me of the rangers late 90's early 2000). Brian will succeed, just look at the progress this year. When we meet in Sept lets get all of us hockey nuts together and I can tell you some stories via being in the penalty box and locker areas with some players. Well got to go have Breakfast and get ready for game 3 at MSG this afternoon. Hate to say it but Caps in 5.

Chuck

I will move with you:rotfl2:, but i think i will be indoors in the summer. DAVIES I HEAR IS A NICE PLACE TO LIVE:rotfl2: Hope I spelled that right. Every day could be LAND SHARK DAY:rotfl2:

There are NO land sharks in Davie and I'd like to keep it that way :thumbsup2

I forgot to ask, WHEN IS DINGUS DAY?

I am almost afraid to ask ... what is a Dingus day

For some reason reading Dyngus day and how are your bowling balls in the same post has me snickering like a 13 year old :rolleyes1 I really need to stop reading vampire romance novels ... perhaps I will take up reading books on economics or tax law

I think Buffalo is the largest celebrater for DYNGUS day. I think its a POLISH holiday. There are many POLISH living in and around Buffalo. Someone can correct me or elaborate more on that.
As far as BOWLING BALLS:rotfl2: Baking them in a Microwave for a couple days Bakes the oil out of them, they soak up the oil from the lanes.

I'm game. We should have a hockey breakfast some morning on the cruise where we all bring hats or jerseys from our favorite team and talk hockey...or football or whatever. Thoughts anyone?

I'm more than happy to elaborate on this. Dyngus Day is a Polish-American tradition, that celebrates the end of the often restrictive observance of Lent and the joy of Easter.

It is custom to throw/squirt water on and tap members of the opposite sex with pussywillow branches. I cannot specify the word tap enough, because some people (especially older ladies) go too far.

The city of Buffalo has the largest Dyngus Day celebration in the United States due to their large Polish community. There are locations all over the city (and in the corresponding towns) with events and music. Honestly though, it just a big reason for people to drink and drink heavily. This year, they are expecting as many as 50,000 people to participate in all the events, including visitors from Western New York, Southern Ontario (Burlington, Hamilton and St. Catherines), and from different parts of the country. On April 25th...everyone around here becomes Polish.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LARA. (Laradenise)

Happy Birthday! :cheer2:

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Lara!!!

happy birthday lara!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello all,
Thanks for all the great Birthday wishes. Sorry it has taken so long to respond, the USB internet stick we use here in the UK does not work on my computer.

John purchased me a bell for my birthday from Royal Crown Derby commemorating the soon to be marriage of William and Kate. It is a limited edition of 500, so I hope it grows in value.

Thanks again,
Lara

Hey Andy,
John wanted me to tell you we've locked in Radisson as our pre-cruise hotel. We are scheduled to check in on September 17th. This includes Caitlyn & Cody.

Thanks,
Lara

I made her add the part about the gift. We had been in there looking at stuff and she really liked the bell, but didn't want to commit to it without thinking it over first (my suggetion). So a few days later, the day before her birthday Laran and I went over and bought it. We also got her a 'Happy Birthday Mum' card. Luckily Laran forgot about getting the gift, so it was still a surprise the next day.

I had to log her onto DISboards on my computer. I remember doing that once before and it was a problem getting my computer to remember it was me and not her. Then I darn near forgot my password. Hope it goes better this time. My computer did just shut down while she had it, so not a good start. Possibly got too hot sitting on a blanket on her lap.

$4.09 over here in Chicagoland! :scared1:

It's been 1.25 to 1.35 Pounds per liter here. At 3.78 liters per gallon and an exchange rate of $1.6 per Pound ... That's about $8 per gallon :scared1:

And we are paying for fuel, not the company as I originally thought

Hi everyone! I have been working some more on my FE's this weekend. (I'm doing a B2B, so there are TWO cruises to do FE's on) I finished the ones for THIS cruise and am very very happy with the final product! In fact, Junior had a friend stop by and he asked where we BOUGHT the _____ from. When Junior told him *I* made them he was quite impressed. He said I should sell them. :goodvibes

Now I have to get started on the kids' FE gifts. I'm hoping to just get those done in ONE weekend instead of two-three! LOL

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

Ooohhhh....my post was #777! I'm not a gambler, but I know that's a lucky number! :rotfl2: Maybe I should go to the casino boats tonight....maybe that was a hint! :thumbsup2 Yeah right....a hint to go "donate" my hard earned money to the casino's that are raking in millions by the minute by those unsuspecting hopefuls who think they're going to win big on the machines or at the tables. That's ok....I'll just stay home and keep my money. :surfweb:

Wow, the FE gifts sound great. Just wanted to let you know that the DIS Filters blocked your word. Try using a different word to fill in the ____ above. ;)

If you would have had 1900 Park Fare ADR a day later we would be there at the same time. We've never eaten there for dinner, I hope it's good.
