We had a great time this afternoon meeting and hanging out with John, Lara, and of course Laran! As John said, it was just like old friends meeting after a long absence. :grouphug: It is funny that both John with his family and us had to travel to a foreign country to meet when we only live about a 4 hour drive apart! :lmao: Something that John didn't mention was that the restaurant, as busy as it was, didn't pressure us in the least to leave, so we were able to sit and chat for quite a while. After lunch, Sue and Lara were off on a mission to find a couple of scarves, leaving John, Laran, and me in the dust! They finally found the ones they were looking for and we didn't lose them in the crowds!:worship:

The reason that John beat me to the boards was that we arrived home to a veritable flurry of activity consisting of DD, Terra, getting clothing together for a several day driving adventure with a 19 month old son who is suddenly growing a fair amount and a pair of month old twins who are just plain messy. After we helped get that done by taking care of all 3 kidlets, it was time for dinner. And feeding. And changing. And then we got to eat. Needless to say, it has been a tad hectic around here this evening! After all that was sorted out we got to eat, and after clean-up, I finally have time to post. Whew! I don't envy their lives for the next few years with the amount of work that 3 boys that age brings! :worship::worship::worship:

I will eventually get the pictures together, it will take me a little while to have the time to get it together. Maybe tomorrow. We can hope! :thumbsup2

Now, I bid you all a good night. I need my rest for the late shift with the twins... :goodvibes

The things we do to meet people... :)

It's really great you all got to get together in London.

John - how much longer are you going to be over there?

Dan & Sue - I hope you have a wonderful time touring Ireland. Can't wait to see your pictures.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! THE CRUISING LIFE:rotfl2: I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THE KONK KOOLER AND CAPTAINS MAI TAI. TELL THEM TO ONLY PUT A LITTLE ICE IN. THE DRINK WONT TASTE DILUTED ONCE ICE STARTS TO MELT. THAT BAR ON THE BEACH HAS 2 FOR 1 SPECIALS:cool1:
HMMMM YOU DIDNT MAKE ANY REFERENCE TO ME WHEN POSTING THIS PHOTO:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Yeah, I should have told anyone to direct any questions about any CC drinks your way! :lmao: Thanks for the tip about light ice in the Captains Mai Tai! :thumbsup2

Just Awsome....
DITTO!

I'm tired after reading your post! :rotfl2: I remember very well the sleep deprivation I suffered from when I was a new mom. And that was with just one kids. I can't imagine having TWO! But then again, I hear they are easier when they are in the toddler stage because they keep each other company. Enjoy the late shift tonight! :goodvibes I miss those days....middle of the night feedings...all alone just me and the baby...even with the sleep deprivation, those were precious times!!!

Well the Potter clan has there dining reservations all taken care of for before and after the cruise. :thumbsup2 Packing for Ireland is just about complete, just a few more things to throw in tomorrow. :thumbsup2 So now, it's time to catch up here since it might be two weeks before I get back to it. Although I don't think that will happen with as many communicative devices that will be along with us on the Potter family trip!
Anyway, it was neat to see the pictures many of you have posted, I am not a big drinker, but there are many drinks on that menu I might want to try!!:goodvibes It was also really cool to read about the meeting at Bistro 1 in London. That is the same resturant Michael (M & N Potter) and I met Terra (Clayfolks & Truffel's DD and our niece) a few years back. It is a great resturant. It was also really nice to meet up with family in the middle of a trip where we had lots of firsts. Like driving :scared1: and then heading to France with little or no knowledge of the language.:scared1::scared1:
It's nice to read about how everyone here is meeting up. I know we enjoyed ourselves so much at DWTD a few weeks ago. It's cool that we have all gotten to know people from all across the country and I can't wait to meet everyone in September!
Oh well, I have a few more things to do tonight, so I hope the first day of spring :flower2::daisy::flower1: has treated everyone well.
I thinks it's only about 26 weeks till we cruise!! :dance3:

Hi Terri,

We are about half way through our visit. It's going so fast, I hope we have time to do everything we want. I've been sending mini-trip reports back home every week, but when we have company the tours are increased and the free-time decreased, so I'm falling behind. May have to finish after we return.

Dan & Sue asked about driving on the other side of the road. After driving home from London, I think I am nearly accoustomed to it now (since I don't drive much here it took longer for me than for Lara), but I am beginning to worry a little about driving on 'our' side of the road upon returning. And I really love to drive.

Speaking of which I was comparing the British to Americans. I believe the British have a slight advantage over us when traveling abroad. First they are close to others who drive on our side of the road, but even if they rarely get out of the UK, they are still exposed to a lot of American movies, where they see from a young age the difference. We don't see many British movies, except maybe James Bond, where they drive on the UK side of the road.

Yes, very cool indeed. I understand you are quite artistic and crafty, and that Sue is hoping you finish your FE gifts soon, so you can start some for her :thumbsup2

I wasn't sure exactly who all from your clan was going, but have a great time in Ireland!

Good night Nancy.
Good night Andy.
'bout time for Dan & Sue to get up for night feeding, but I'll have to miss it as I off to bed

Night John! I am glad everything has been going well during the trip and I hope you enjoy the rest of your time abroad. Be safe.

Wow two families from the mid west travel to London to have lunch. Sounds like the plot of a Disney movie. I am glad I only have to travel from Texas to Florida to meet all you fine folks on the member cruise. Travel safe back to the USA.
We are all less than six months from starring in our own Disney production:cool1:.

So true! :rotfl2:

Sleep Perhaps to Dream.......
Wow, nice pics! :thumbsup2 I can't wait till September, Thank you so much for the great photos! :goodvibes
Debbie---We had a great time last night too. Lilly is still asking where her "friends, Emilee and Brandon," are!! I can't believe we sat in that play area for so long. Went by way too fast. We definitely have to get together again! :thumbsup2How was your drive home?? We took the LONG way...for some reason, Jim was in a good mood and he just wanted to drive. :confused3 Anyway, dentist appt. went fine. The usual.."you need to floss", "have you ever had your teeth whitened"?? But... No cavities!!
Sweet! No pun intended...:rolleyes1 Actually, it will be very sweet to finally meet everyone on the cruise!

That is so great meeting Dan and Sue in London. :) My FIL is a true Englishman, he grew up in Putney, near Wimbledon. He still has his accent. When my daughter was learning how to speak, she had an English accent because my FIL was the main babysitter. It was so cute! :cutie:

I have a friend who has a 2 year old son, who just found out she is having...:rockband:....:hyper2:....TWINS! and she's 45...:worship:so I truly understand where you are coming from. I won't tell her what you told us. :ssst:

How did you get the "after" ADRs booked? The online system won't let me because I'm past my precruise check out date and I haven't hit the 180 day postcruise yet.

That would be so cool growing up in the US with a British accent. Does your daughter still use any British words or phrases ('Cheers' and 'whilst' are all that come to mind right now)? And the phrase Lara hears in business meetings, "**** up", as in "It looks like that project is going **** up." The first couple of times they said it, she looked around the room to see the astonished faces, but there were none (except hers). Apparently a common and accepted phrase here. Do you remember any other words/phrases your FIL used?

Cheers,
John

Oops, busted: While the word I typed is not as offensive as it appears in '**** up' it is apparently blocked by DISboard. It's really the plural of a 3 letter word, not the past tense of a 4 letter word which sometimes preceeds ' ...... up'

I was just wondering if Terrie (Calypso) is still eating Snickers or has she given them up? After checking out the link below, you will understand. :rotfl2:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e0Gsn4khss

OMG!!!!!:eek: That was so wrong on so many levels :scared1::scared1: I LOVE ... er ... loved snickers :sad2: Oh well, there's still Reeses

Way cool that John, Lara, Laran, Sue and Dan got to meet across the pond :thumbsup2 That's one of the reasons I love the DISboards and the member cruise. It's really nice to get to know everyone here beforehand. By the time you get on board the ship you feel like your traveling with a bunch of friends :grouphug:

I'm still on a book reading binge which is why I haven't been posting here as much. Going through withdrawals after that Black Dagger Brotherhood series that was like crack, I pimped it out to my mom, my BFF and now I've got Wally reading it too :lmao: In the meantime I''ve been reading other series in the same genre to curb the withdrawals as I wait for the next BDB book to be released on March 29th ... counting the days and minutes :rolleyes1 They say the first step when it comes to addiction is admitting you have a problem. If I had to run to the bookstore everytime I finished a book ... that would be a problem. Now that I have a Kindle (my favorite new toy) there is no problem. So no more making Wally find me a Barnes & Noble while we are in WDW because I just finished the first book in a series and couldn't wait to start the next one :lmao: Yup, that actually happened a few years ago when I read Twilight :rotfl2: Well, Happy Monday everybody :flower3: I hope everyone has a good week :goodvibes
