Why are your posts larger than the others? (lengthwise)

Many would say "Michiganders". Where I reply, "Oh, and do they call the females Michigeese?"

Speaking of geese and why some lines are longer than others:

Have you ever noticed that when geese fly, they fly in a "V" shape?
Have you ever noticed that one line is always longer than the other?
Have you ever wondered why?

You know I have noticed that! I did a quick google search at all the 'answer' places just now and keep getting the basic same answer : "because there are more geese on that side" ..... :rotfl2:

Ooooh, if you don't mind, I'll have to add the "google search" part to my punch line, too. Sounds even more credible that way. :rotfl2:

The other nite we had a huge flock of birds flying south right over our house. It lasted 4 minutes. I'd never seen so many birds - kind of freaked me out.

I gotta go outside to sand and paint some shelves I'm installing in the garage. I'll check in and out from time to time.

Hi peloha86,
I suspected you were from Cali, because of the avatar, but then thought you might just be a fan living somewhere else. I'll put you in as the only (known) one form CA.

:thanks: for compiling the list! It is interesting to see where everyone is from.:)

Good Morning EVERYBODY!!!!

We are booked on the Fantasy maiden voyage :banana::banana: :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::yay::yay::yay::woohoo: :woohoo:
You can book online from the main page right now :cool1:
We are in a category 6B. The concierge category wasn't even available to book I guess the gold and platinum members snagged those up yesterday. Not that Wally would have gone for it
So excited to be going on a maiden voyage. This is one of those "bucket list" things for us, sailing on the MV of a cruise ship.
It's even more special for us since it is a DCL ship!!!! :dance3::jumping1:

Congrats! That's fantastic!:yay:

I JUST WENT TO DCL SITE CANADIANS CAN GET 25% off certain cruises between Jan 8 and Feb 28. I will have to remember that for future bookings. Terrie you and Wally must get a reduced rate being FLORIDIANS

There are Florida resident rates that come out from time to time. Maiden Voyage, no discounts, not even the booking on board discount with a dummy date and then switching.

Oh look MINNIE, is that a shark i see circling the ship? Dont tell TERRIE!:rotfl2::scared1:

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Terrie and Wally,
Congratulations on your booking of the maiden voyage. When dies it sail? You must be so excited!
Very cool, congrats:cool1::cool1:
Too cool! Y'all are living it UP! :cool1::cool1:
YAY FOR YOU TWO!!! :banana::banana::yay::yay:
I am so jealous of you Terrie and Wally.
Terrie and Wally - all I can say is WOW! and I'm soooo jealous! ;) Sounds like it would be one of those dream come true moments - but way out of my range at the moment! We'll all be expecting lots of pictures!
Congrats Terrie and Wally! That is wonderful~ A maiden voyage is quite a coup, because there is only 1 of them per vessel!

Thank you :goodvibes It sails on April 7, 2012. We are very excited to say the least :yay: Yeah, the MV was pricier than the other sailings but it's something that only happens once. I hear they do special things for a MV too. On the up side we only had to put the deposit down which is about 20% and then the rest isn't due until December of 2011 so we have over a year to pay for it. We used our Disney Visa so the deposit gets 6 months of 0 interest.

other than me i forget who the other 2 canadians are?

I am going to guess Laura and Dudley :lmao:

Don't tell Stacey. I think she has bird issues similar to my shark issues  Ian posted a picture of a crane and poor Stacey went all flashbacks of Hitchcock :lmao: Sorry Stacey  it's just comforting to come across someone else who may have some wildlife issues. Yours are in the air, mine are in the water. See we are seeeeeesters :flower3:

I wonder why there are so many of us here? Did the pixiedust: just happen to land here or are we just more outgoing than folks from other states? ;)

There are more cruising opportunites around the east/central states than there are in the west coast. :sad2: Florida/Carribean/Bahamas are closer to central and east coasters, ie: Illinois to NY, therefore making a trip to WDW with DCL more feasible than it is out here on the west coast. San Pedro/Long Beach Harbor is only about 30 minutes away from Disneyland, without traffic... With the Wonder coming, hopefully there will be more opportunities to cruise DCL. So far I haven't heard of any California resident DCL discounts. :confused3 However, there are MANY who would love to cruise with DCL.
DVC is relatively a new concept in California, except for the true Disney fans out here who know all about Disney. So if you have DVC and use points for a DVC property in WDW combined with a DCL cruise, then you just need to pay for the airfare, food, transportation, etc...If not, then the airfare alone can reach as high as $500/pp peak season, for a family of four, that's $2000 on airfare alone! :scared1::scared1:

Sounds like fun! Oooh Idea ! Use a sandblaster and do it in 1/4 the time (also have 1/4 the material left but meh) :goodvibes

Hey George, that idea is sounding better and better. My dad always bought reasonable quality tool (Craftsman). Until he got older and found Harbor Freight. Now he buys the most incredibly cheapest stuff. And distributes them as presents. I bet I've only used this Chinese sander once before, and I had to take it apart last night to grease the bearings (at least they're roller bearings). Almost done now, but have to re-grease the bearings again. It's a vibration/orbital/finishing sander. I think it would be a great sander if it could only take the vibration and dust. Other than that it's great. :sad2:

Excellent points, peloha86
I wonder why the response from the south and southeastern states appears to be lower than farther north? Closer and cheaper airfare or even drive.

Thanks Terri and Sue, you are quite welcome. Of course FL is well represented, presumably because of the convenience.

I can't agree with you more! I would cruise more if it was closer to me too.

Then interest drops off thru the south and southeast. Maybe because they are close enough to drive to Disney in one day, or because Disney has about the same weather that they have? And then as you saw the interest tends to peak among the Union states, east of the Mississippi.

True Disney fans out there ;)

:goodvibes

True, very true! :thumbsup2

If the Wonder books more cruises in the West coast, esp. mini-trips, then maybe to the Hawaii/Aulani DVC, I really think more people would go. Then there is the "can they accomidate the Wonder" issue... So far Alaska, Vancouver, San Francisco, LA Harbor, and Mexico are the only Pacific Coast ports I know of.

Not cool! Especially during the middle of a project. I used to be a die hard dewalt and craftsman fan but I am really liking makita and they seem to last forever. Great price point too :thumbsup2

Hey Terrie (and anyone else who uses the Disney Visa)

Chase has changed how they apply payments on the Disney Visa 6 month no interest (due to new credit laws enforced by our wonderful Congress). Apparently it goes towards the LOWEST balance OR the balance with the highest interest rate...NOT the balance with the SAC expiring the soonest. There are a couple of threads on here about that, but I couldn't find them to link them here. Sorry! :upsidedow

Even my dad would agree with you on Makita. He built the superstructure, everything except for the hull, of a 40' Navy troop launch with one Makita rechargable drill. This project started over 10 years ago, and the drill still works fine.
