"Ex Techie"...he's probably an "EX" because he couldn't keep his mouth shut and he got fired. Ok...I admit that was mean. He apologized on the thread and he apologized to me through a private message. But...he really hurt my feelings when he blasted me like that! It was so uncalled for!! But I still accepted his apology. Cause that's how I roll!

A moderator has already asked us to move on and stay on topic.

The moderator needs to ask Ex Techie to play nice! I think his reply to Belle was kind of snippy toned, too. (In asking where she got her information) So, looking back I'm sure he was "annoyed" by her and took it out on me.

Oh well....it's all over and I'm not letting it bother me. It bothered me when it happened but it's water under the bridge now. Today is a beautiful day...I'm staying on the nice thread. It's sunny and 80's outside. And I have NOTHING planned, so we have a "free" day!

I have done my 3 mile run/walk and now must make an egg bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich and head off to work to sell a house or two.

Hi Everyone! Just checking in for a quick sec here. DD's wedding shower was last weekend, and it was perfect. The wedding will be Oct 1, so I won't have much time for last minute preparations after the cruise, so I am busy busy the next couple of weeks getting things ready.

But, I have not forgotten you all, lol. I will pop in when I can. I am actually kinda glad now that we get tornados here in Chicagoland, versus hurricanes. Too much stress and anxiety over the hurricane preps, lol. The tornados just jump on our heads without warning, so less stressful, LOL!

Hi Carole! Wow! Your DD's wedding is just DAYS after the cruise?! Boy you'll be busy when you get back! Good luck....I hope there are no "hiccups" in the wedding plans and everything goes smoothly!!

I HATE tornados, but I think I would hate hurricanes worse! I feel so bad for all the islanders in the Bahamas and everyone on the East Coast. This is one heck of a storm!!!! Of course it would be...my Grandma's name was Irene and she sure was a pistol sometimes!

I was just on that thread!! I will NOT be going back. He has no reason to be rude to my friend. I almost wanted to correct all his spelling errors and tell him how mad, as a teacher, that makes me!

Yeah, I'm not going back to that thread either. And don't correct his spelling errors....that's half the fun of reading mean posts....most of the people can't spell and it makes them look like fools.

You wouldn't believe how many typo's I find in stuff that comes home from the SCHOOL!!!!! When Brandon started Kindergarten I actually wrote a letter to the principal. The "welcome" letter that came to the house had somewhere between 10 and 20 typo's...spelling errors, grammar errors, etc. I was almost afraid to send my son there!!!

Hi Carol! Congrats on DD's upcoming wedding. October is one of my favorite times of year

I'll take the hurricanes over tornadoes (which we get too) and earthquakes. I can't deal with the no warning We are pretty much always prepared during hurricnae season so I like having several days to deicde if we're going to ride it out or get out of dodge

I know being on the DREAM is a "dream come true" for most people. However, I feel so bad for my little student. She will not get to go to Castaway Cay. That is one of the best things about a Disney Cruise!! I just keep thinking of her and am hoping she is not sick from all the rocking.

Something funny though...yesterday during class, I pulled up the Fishlips webcam and put it on the overhead to show my class as the DREAM and SENSATION were pulling away from port. The camera zooms in on the "sail away parties" and my students were right up on the screen watching....they were saying, "oh my...those people are waving at us" and "LOOK!!" I told my kids to wave back. The class was like...."can they see us??? Cool!"

It was hilarious!!

I know what you mean about CC being one of the best things about a Disney Cruise. Our 2nd cruise was a 3 night and I couldn't have cared less about being on the ship...all I cared about was my day at CC. Well as my luck would have it, the undercurrents were too strong and the captain couldn't dock at CC. I felt like I had just wasted a vacation, I was soooo upset! But, that was years ago and I've learned that I shouldn't get so upset over things that are TOTALLY out of my control.

And, if your student is able to spend time in the kids clubs, those areas look SO FREAKING COOL! I bet he's having a blast and won't even be bothered by the fact that he missed CC!!! But, I sure hope he's not having motion sickness!!!

Your students are so lucky to have a teacher like you...showing them the Disney Dream on the webcam!

Hope they weathered the storm. Maybe Pooh Bear went down to show them how to get through a Blustery Day...LOL
In all seriousness I do pray the CM's that stay were not injured and any damage was minimal.

I read somewhere that they have a hurricane shelter for the CM's. So, I hope they all got in there and are all safe. I feel bad for them to have to clean up after a hurricane. I wonder of Disney sends any extra help to clean up the island?

I am! I am going to go get a haircut! The problem is I have to find someone new to cut my hair. The girl that I went to for the last couple years left the place she was at and I don't know where she went. That's the THIRD time that's happened to me!!! UGH!


And, no, I never got a response from the school when I wrote that letter....I sent it anonymously. I didn't want them to know who wrote it in fear of them treating my son unfairly in retaliation.
