Hiya John! :wave2:

I was thinking of brining a bottle of port or dessert wine for the late night Dismeet on the 24th. I'll also bring a "dessert" that should go nicely with the wine. I'll have my husband pick a drink of his choice. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, we won't be able to attend because we're flying out that afternoon, :sad1: but we wanted to be with everyone in spirit. :flower3:

HA!!! Get it...SPIRIT??? What a clever gal!! Love it!!!

A BIG welcome back to John and Andy!! You were both missed. Glad to have you back and can't wait to meet you both!! Andy, take care of that knee.

I hope this really doesn't go where I think it may go...

I love the picture!

At one point in the dim dark recesses of the past ... (I should start this correctly ... ;) ) Once upon a time back when I was younger than I am now, in the mid 1970's, there were 5 young, brave and relatively open minded :hippie: gentlemen who scored tickets for KISS, Blue Oyster Cult and Wet Willie at the Schereville (sp?) Ice Arena. After the requisite indulgences of the era, they arrived at the venue early enough to be less than 5 feet from the stage. And they all lived happily ever after. With some degree of hearing loss. :lmao: The End. :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

As Jimmy Buffett sings
Don't try to describe a KISS concert if you've never seen it,
I admit I've seen it:lmao:

Thank you for the warm welcome back Kelly!

Looking forward to meeting you and Jim too. Hey, is Lillian's thumb completely healed and functioning well?

I'm not sure which thread we're talking about here, but I've been on "Meet" threads before each my cruises and this one is no different (= fun, friendly, etc.:cool1:). So, I'd say that the "other thread" is the one out of step (and possibly, out of line :snooty:). IMHO.:rolleyes1

:grouphug::grouphug:

Hear Hear!!

Ahh, nice of you to remember my lil peanut. Yes, Lilly's thumb is in working order and she recovered nicely. Lucky girl...to be young again. Now the nurse in recovery...not so sure about her, as Lilly flung a cookie at her. She is probably taking a bit more time to "heal"!!

Dan. There is a 9-15 cruise thread with some very nice people that may want to do the illuminations cruise. You might wanna post there to draw some anti-anti-our thread people! Just a thought.
Just got off of a conference call... :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

I wish they didn't teach history as facts and dates in school. I didn't get interested until I started reading historical fiction. When you present the story in a way that you can see yourself in it, it's a whole lot more interesting and engaging than just throwing names, dates and events at a kid.

Totally agree, Karen. That is how I teach in my classroom everyday!! I always tell my kids "why" I am teaching what I am teaching, "how" it pertains to them, and "when" they may be able to use it. I feel it is more meaningful if I put things into "their" terms/feelings. They need to know how what I am teaching relates to them...gives them more ownership. Teaching history is an easy way to do that.:teacher:
