Again ~ no flames from anyone... I am not trying to be stupid... but why would you need her absences excused? She's in third grade? Does the elementary school have that strict a policy that the absences have to be excused in the third grade? My son's second biggest reason for not wanting to come along on the cruise is school. He's in college prep classes (he'll be 16 on September 14th) and a day or two really makes a difference in high school ~ not to mention a week! And number one reason is he hates all things Disney {Must be his Dad in him ~ That I don't get at all} anyway, Zack bailed on the cruise but when I go on vacation I call the school and say, "Mekayla won't be back until September 25th" and they say "o.k." I hate starting the year like that but that's when I get vacation time, and in the beginning of the year it's not hard to make up homework. How much classwork does your 9 year old have? If Mekayla had to stand up and do a "presentation" I think she would die on the spot of embarrassment! She's still learning cursive writing for goodness sakes! :artist: Elementary school isn't part of our School District's "permanent records" her first college pick isn't going to turn her down 'cause she missed a week or two in the fourth grade! What's with all the hoop jumping? I'm curiouis. :confused3

My DD has a cell also, and I will be very close. DD already knows that she can not answer the telephone without looking at the caller id and knowing the person calling. She also knows that she is not allowed to answer the door for any reason, even if I am at home. I may try a test run this weekend and leave her at home when I run up the street to pick up breakfast or something.

I know that I said I would not be on tonight, but you know it's that addiction thing. I just couldn't get started doing my work until I checked to see what everyone had to say.

DD's school won their ball game. This is the pre-season tournament. They play in the championship game tomorrow night. Also, she signed up to play pee-wee basketball herself today. That means games every Saturday and most Sundays for the next two months. I guess my butt will be sitting on a lot of bleachers for the next few months.

What is the one thing that you are most looking forward to about the cruise?

If you had to pick just one thing to eat and had to eat it all week long, what would it be?

Okay! I admit that I am just trying run up my number of posts. It's just that I am so far away from 1000. Could you guys please ask me some questions so that I will have to answer.

I totally agree. Some wonderful libations that contain Carribean Rum would be nice pirate:

That is correct. We had to prove that this trip would be educational and Maddie has to do a 3 page report about the Chacobben Ruins (sp). We are so excited and can not believe that it is almost here.

I can't wait to wake up the first morning and realize that I am on the ship and that I still have 6 more mornings of that! Oh and not cooking, cleaning and lots of eating and drinking!

I have a question regarding Pirates of the Carribean night....is anyone going to dress up in pirate attire....or should I leave it at home.

S pirate: Yo ho Yo ho a pirate's life for me!

I think if you open the alcohol, you have to drink it all. If the seal is broken you can't bring it through customs. If you need help finishing up your open bottles, call me. I think I'm in 6552. You'll know it by the cruddy door signs. So no one ever answered-- what was all the talk about Alaska a few nights back?
Julie

If we end up buying anything and are not able to finish it by Friday night I'll be sure to call you and Asha! I think I'll need a good buzz to get through the last night onboard! All I have to look forward to on Saturday the 23rd is a long flight home, so a hangover and a bad attitude is almost a guarantee! :p

Alaska... I forgot...

Um I think the final answer was a "wait and sea" attitude. Some people want Western and Eastern cruises reinstated since the Magic will be in the Med all summer 2007 - us, well, we've "been there, done that" already, I am sick of the carribbean...never sick of Castaway Cay though. Anyway, some say the Magic's not built for the Alaskan waters, but I think in the summer it would be easy peasy...some say there are customs and border crossing issues...and honestly I don't know anything about the requirements for foreign ships (Disney is registered in the Bahamas - it's a foreign ship) so I dunno'. I personally would be super jazzed to go on an Alaskan Cruise via Disney. Either way, we're sailing in 2008 ~ booking it on this cruise :thumbsup2
