Well I'm glad to see that everyone is as excited as I am ... I figure I have 2 days until I figure out exactly which room we will be in (30 day guarentee).

I want to get a piece of that action... 1st one to recieve their travel doc's buys the round of beverages. I love when everyone comes out a winner !!

Oh how cool! 3 days at WDW and they have no idea! I am about to leave for Target for what I just know will be the first of many trips for all those little things we just have to have!

O.K. Lime Green is not my color...but Amanda01 ~ when we went to Target last week they had a whole section of lime green stuff. They had magnetic erase boards and note pads and all kinds of school/office stuff. seems like the fall colors for back to school are lime green and blue! Mekayla and I found all kinds of stuff that was lime green, but we limited ourselves on only buying the erase boards with the magnets on the back...like I said...not my color.

I dont think lime green is anybody's colour!!!! Rasheed almost had a breakdown when I said no to the Lime and Blue knapsack he wanted for school.

Yep its still a secret, they know I have a surprise but they think it is something during the cruise. If all goes as planned they will be surprised when I wake them at 4am Wed for our flight.

Oh how I wish we had a Target over here (not like I need anymore shopping temptations), I heard they tried to bid on a retail chain here but it didnt work out.

Ok, I'm still need to work out some planning details.

So, far, I have the cruise, that was easy and booked back when it first came out. At 120 days, we booked our palo brunch and dinner and CC stingrays.

Just in the last week, I booked the air travel from portland. we are taking a red-eye flight and arriving at 10am on thursday (9/14). Our return trip is wednesday (9/27). so I have some planning for the pre- and post-cruise portions.

I rented a car from budget, as suggested, as I like having a car at WDW and don't use disney bus transportation.
The reservation that I currently have is for the whole 2-week period but I don't have any place to park it while on the cruise. I wonder if budget would let me park it there,
any suggestions?

I went and got our tickets to MNSSHP for 9/15 after reading this board. We have never done it before and are looking forward to it.

Right now, I'm still looking for which hotel/resort to stay at for 9/14-9/16 and 9/23-9/27. We aren't dedicate to a disney property as we are unlikely to use the extra magic hours or the magical express or the bus system. Anyone have any good reasons to stay or avoid a disney value property?

Then there are park tickets, we are probably going to seaworld since we haven't been there in a few trips and probably do NASA on the saturday after the cruise. So, I think we will only use a 4-day pass that expires, unless I get a better suggestion.

Finally, anyone have plans to meet at MNSSHP on friday?

Just got through with Budget and Avis myself. You dont need to pay for a car for two weeks, you can have two reservations. You can drop the car off at budget at the port before the cruise and then pick up a new rental after the cruise and return it at the end of your holiday to the airport?

Although Budget has just told me that they have nothing available currently for pick up on Sat 23rd, so I booked with Avis.

Sorry cant help with the hotels, this is my first trip

Richard ~ I would keep checking with Budget but I would for sure do what Seashells recommended and book two reservations on the rental car. There is no reason to pay to park (and be responsible for a car you're not driving) for a week. I pricelined a hotel in Kissimmee (right outside Main Gate) and got $25.00 a night at the La Quinta Inn. Since you have the rental car anyways... I would seriously recommend priceline or cheaptickets for a hotel in the Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista area. Even though you're not hard pressed to stay on property, September is a "low time" and you might be able to get good rates at one of the All Star resorts.

So funny you're flying out of PDX....I live in Eugene, Oregon and am flying out of SEA-TAC. Looks like we're both making a drive to each other's states to catch a flight!

No we don't have it. We looked at and decided on the Alaskan Airlines card instead. That way we can build up miles because of how much the airfare is. But congrats on the pretty card!

Amanda01 - have you begun to pack yet? Mekayla says we can use her bed to lay out the luggage (she sleeps with me in my bed most nights) so this weekend we're gonna' clear her bed of all her "stuffies" and start the strategy! After all that great info on shipping stuff to the warehouse, we're going to try to pack everything! Thank the Packing Gods for space bags!

no packy yet but I have begun to change my mind on the costume thing and thinking about being a pirate for MNSSHP and pirate night...help a sister out with some websites for cheap costumes please? Nad big girl costumes if you got em?
