09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

I was on at Midnight and there was no Palo brunch at all. There was only Saturday dinner. :confused3 So much for them saving some for us new people.

You will be able to get something. I had nothing when I walked on the ship. I still ended up with both Palo brunch and dinner. :thumbsup2

I think it is awesome you might bring your 6yr old nephew!! He would love the trip!!!! And I think it is well worth missing school for time with family and seeing new places and people. It is a learning experience in itself....and it is not like you do it all the time. JMHO!

Heather- there is some counterspace but it is small!!! You could put your caboodle on the floor or on the desk in the room by the mirror.

Is it time to cruise yet???
Thanks. I just spoke to his MOM, my SIL and she is goint to call his school, and see how they feel about being out for 2 weeks. I hope they are ok with it. :goodvibes

Thank you. I have a question, is there any counter space in the bathrooms? I usually travel with cabodales (sp?). They carry everything for the trip and then I have it all there in the bathroom in one place. If there is no counter space then I will bring the shoe holder.

There's also space on the floor, that's where I keep my make-up case. I know in a cat 6 in the split bath there is a 4 corner shelf where I keep my perfume and some small goodies. And there's a shelf above the sink. Dh and I have this all worked out.. I get the bath with the hair dryer and he gets the shower.:rotfl2:

Okay, I had to google "caboodles" :lmao:

I usually prefer to get ready outside the bathroom. To anyones memory, are there any mirrors in the cabin near an electrical outlet?

PS - Kamy, that IS a great airfare you got. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone.
It has been a whirlwind here for the last week. My in-laws came in for the entire week. We also make a spur of the moment weekend trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. We had fun, but now I am catching up on unpacking and washing.
Thanks, Kamy, for the idea about TWO over the door hangers. I have one that I bought for our first cruise. I never thought about having another one for the second bathroom door. Great idea! I will be buying one this week.
I bring the one that I have now on every trip we take. It is a wonderful help at any hotel/cruise!!!!!

Cute! We have a caboodle outlet about 1 hour away. We usually take a girls trip there once a year. I stock up. We get really nice travel cases for $1-$5 dollars. Teachers usually get them as the wrapping on Christmas gifts. They think I spend so much. On my next trip I am planning on getting some to give out to my clients who book trips as a thank you gift.

I love the over the door shoe holders! They are so useful for little things. Especially on cruises...if you hit rough seas, things dont go flying around! LOL!!!!

There are outlets in the room, but not many, that is why I bring a power strip/extension cord. It helps!

To my recollection, the ONLY electrical outlet is near the desk area, which has a big mirror over it.

We definitely take the power strip. There's always cameras and camcorders to be charging, plus I have to take my own hair dryer and my curling iron. I don't think there are outlets anywhere else in the cabin, unless you have a suite.

Kam,

I took the over the door shoe holder last time and it was the best tip ever. There is no counterspace in those tiny bathrooms and it make life so much better. I'm definitely taking a powerstrip this time.

One thing I didn't know is that you can't leave anything plugged in. I would leave my cell phone to charge while I was out of the room and they would always unplug it and leave a note. It was a little irritating, but I settled for only charging it when I was in the room.

I never knew that about plugging things in. But I dont use my phone, charge my phone, care about my phone, etc when I am cruising.:cool1: It is the only type of vacation I can truly escape from the real world. Heck, I never even watch the TV on the cruise....LOL!

I hadn't thought of that - suppose it makes sense - you always used to hear of fires starting in dorm rooms, etc. when someone left their curling iron plugged in. I am seriously thinking of not bringing my cell phone.

Happy 4th! We just got home from taking the kids to see Ratatouille. We really liked it and they both did pretty well for little ones. Liam napped for about 30min of it and then watched it with wide eyes! Ryan did okay and only got fussy about an hour into it because he was tired. Steve took him into the aisle and they stood and watched the end. Overall, not bad for an infant and a toddler. We really enjoyed the movie!

We saw a sneak peak at the Taste of Chicago yesterday. Kendyll really wants to go see it. We are now trying to find the time. It looks so cute.

I love those "taste of" events! We don't get to partake as often with a little one now as often as we used to, but hope to again before too long. :goodvibes

We are bringing our nephew with us for our trip!! He is 6 and a real good kid, and has never been out of Maryland(where we live). My sister in law said it was ok with the school for him to be out 2 weeks:scared1: , she works by there and they said she could pick up the school work. My DD is going to be so excited, as we are.

Well, I found us at the bottom of page 2 this morning! I thought I'd bump us up.
Happy Saturday to all...We leave for Disney World in 5 days, and I am so in vacation mode this morning...I'm sitting here at work daydreaming about the 1st day we go to MK, and seeing Cinderella's castle again! I'm double checking all of our reservations, and making the last of the packing list. (I have been packed for almost a week, just need the items we use everyday):rotfl2:

I have contacted the women at DCL that will link us up, and shes all set to do it as soon as I get her the reservation #'s. So I'm going to put a deadline on this for early dining July 28...and then I will giver her the info on the 30th or 31st.
