My DH wants to know if he can wear shorts to dinner on Pirate night with his pirate shirt? I wasn't sure, does anyone know? Also, what about the kids, I took a pair of jeans for my DD and cut them off like knee length, so they have fringe now for her to wear with her costume like pirate shirt, but not sure if we can wear this or will have to change after dinner for the Pirate party.

Unless something has changed DH wore khaki shorts with a tropical short on our cruise in 2005. It was Pirate night but not too many people wore costumes mostly tropical wear.

When it was tropical night I saw a lot of men wearing shorts to dinner...so i would not see a difference between pirate night and tropical night....IMHO.

I am dying to get our room assignment, we are gaurenteed. I am hoping by the end of this month maybe:confused3

WE did book the Under 2 Flags tour for St. Maarten though. I can't decide if I want to book any other excursions. I think I need to get in touch with my DCL contact to get his advice. LOL

Lori, DBF and I also booked the Under 2 Flags Tour :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Hello all. Just popping in to say I might be AWOL for a bit. My great-grandmother passed away on Friday. I was at her side, holding her hand and talking to her, which was rather rough but very peaceful for her. My family is having a rather rough time dealing with things, so if you could send some good wishes their way to get through the funeral on Wednesday, it would be much appreciated. Hope to get back on soon.

I have a question for all you moms or grammys over the age of fifty..... I just bought a tye-dyed dress for the cruise. When I came out of thebedroom, my daughter Kamgen and her husband Steve started laughing so hard, I thought they would pee their pants::rotfl2:
Tell me everyone, should I not have gotten this?????? I am from the 70's:hippie: and I love my tye-dyed.... I wanted to wear it maybe on board or shopping on one of the islands:hippie:
Please if you agree, let Kamgen know:thumbsup2 She did like all the other clothes I got.. Still don't have a dress for her wedding on board.I tried to say I would wear that dress but they both freaked:scared: ha ha ha ha

cricketgrammy- we told you the dress would be good for island shopping...we understand that 70's thing...tye dye is not for everyone:hippie: but you are happy in it, so we are happy too!!!:cutie:

Hey everyone- my aunt found some great sites for stuff and I told her to post them here...magnet paper for the printer, fonts, etc....hope she posts the links! I am gonna make a door magnet for sure!:thumbsup2 Do we have a logo or pic yet????

:grouphug:
prayers to your family MOMMARAVEN

Cricketgrammy - I'm not over fifty, but I say wear whatever makes you happy!! :hippie:

I was online checking out the 'fish extenders' and decorations on a stateroom door. Here's a couple websites if anyone wants to get creative and make there own magnets with clip-art and Disney Fonts.

magnetvalley.com has magnetic paper for INKJET printers
i-love-disney.com has so many Disney Fonts

kamgen says we're called "Mickey's Magical Gang". I'd love to have a magical magnetic sign. Thanks kamgen, I'm gonna check out a few more sites!

counting down the days:banana:

Mommaraven- So sorry to hear about your great Grandmother. Thoughts and prayers to you.

Cricketgrammy- I am not over 50 BUT I will be 48 in a couple of months. I too grew up in the 70's. Graduated high school in 1978. That being said I am going to say this as GENTLY as I can.

YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

I say go for it. I have a couple of bright tropical shirts I am bringing.

Mommaraven - Big hugs to you :grouphug:

Wear the tye-dye :hippie: I am young and I wear tye-dye and my mom in her 60's loves it. Go for it.

Great price on the magnetic paper. My sister and I can start working on a design (Meri if you are reading this start thinking). We make t-shirts for most of our Disney trips and we will most likely have t-shirts for this trip too. I think I can pull off a door sign.

Mommaraven- sorry for your loss:grouphug:

Thanks everyone for responses to shorts on Pirate night questions- my DH will be overjoyed because he can wear them. (He doesn't really want to dress up on vacation- but he is going to)

Great responses...my mom will be so happy!:goodvibes

We need a design so we can all have matching magnets!:thumbsup2

For those of you that have cruised before, do lots of people decorate there cabin door or is it really just dis people?

Heather, I think it's mostly DIS people. The vast majority of people don't decorate their doors, but you will find several on each deck that do.

Good Morning.

My sister and I have some good visions for the "Mickey's Magical Gang" door sign. We are thinking something along the lines of Mickey's Magical Gang…Sailing To New Heights. We are trying to create clouds that are shaped like Mickey heads with the sail boat in the clouds. My sister is an artist, sorry I forgot to mention that yesterday, so I know this is going to be good.

Also, I am thinking about hosting a door decorating contest. What do you guys think? Anyone who wanted to enter would pm me their stateroom number before the cruise (or if you don't have one let me know you want to enter and then give it to me the first day). I would create a sheet with everyone who entered on it. Anyone who's stateroom number is on the website would then get an entry form. Vote for your top 3 and the most votes gets a prize from me. I think it could be fun.

Heather - I think a door decorating contest would be fun!!!! I am not very creative but I would enter just so I could vote on the winner...

FYI....I spent this morning updating the website. I also added a link to Palo's and posted any days/times people had posted in this thread so you can look for fellow 'Magical Gang' Members while you are dining...

cricketgrammy--I say go for the tie-dye, you only live once! :hippie: And if you like it, isn't that all that matters?! :goodvibes

WindyCityHeather--that is cool that your sister is helping you make a group sign for Mickey's Magical Gang. I'm sure it will come out awesome!
The door decorating contest sounds like fun too! I'll have to convince DBF to start helping me think up ideas! I'd love to vote even if I don't enter the contest. :thumbsup2

I broke down and purchased some red Mickey Crocs last week. I bought DBF a black pair. He loves them! I'll probably be wearing those most of the cruise. Gives me less shoes to pack, even though I'll end up with many pairs of flip flops in my luggage!
