Kamy and family, I am so sorry for you loss. You will be in my thoughts :grouphug:

Kamy, You will continue to have our prayers and thoughts as you move forward in this process. I am glad that the worse of it seems to be over and now you can grieve the loss and begin to heal. See you in September, Lois & Janet

Kamy and family,

We are so sorry for your loss. We shall pray for your peace and comfort through this time. Remember too, you are allowed to grieve...and vent...and completely lose it a little! Come to the boards and we shall listen! Take care of yourself...your family needs you!

Blessings...

Okay, ya'll need to get some sleep! :rotfl:

I have to vent now. I HATE the traffic in Northern Virginia. Last night because of Halloween it took me an hour and a half to get home. No accidents, just volume. This morning I sat for 40 minutes with my car off because an accident tied up all FOUR lanes of traffic on the road. Took me over 2 hours to get to work. :furious: I've had it! GRRRRRR!

Okay, thanks for letting me get that out. Hope everyone has a good day.

If you wanna see some REAL traffic - try cutting through Los Angeles traffic! It's common for us to think in terms of how much time it will take to get anywhere as opposed to how far away it is. And... Supposedly we lead the nation with the most time (on average) spent in traffic commuting. I tried to google something to substantiate my statement but found nothing initially.

Anyways... WDC came in number 4 or 5 for bad communtes and traffic too... which I believe may include your region if I'm not mistaken. The upside for myself and my spouse is we work off hours but we tend to work weekends and evenings too. So we can avoid most of the commuters out here.

And here is a mildly interesting article on traffic patterns among folks: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/Traffic/story?id=485098&page=1&technology=true

Hey everyone.
Well, I just wanted to let you all know that my dad passed away last night. :guilty: I was fortunate enough to be with him and feel blessed because of it.
Thank you all for your prayers and kind words here. It is a relief that he is now at peace and we can try to begin to grieve and heal. You have all been so kind and I cannot wait to meet you all. Thank you again.

I posted a draft I had left on screen above (half completed) so did not see your posting until now....

.... we are very sorry to learn of your loss. I don't know what to say that has not already been said by others. So let me simply say we echo the setiments of everyone here with respectful prayers and sympathy in your time of loss.

Kamy,

I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, but I'm sure that you being able to be with him in his last few months was a great comfort to him. Patrick and I will be sending lots of love to you and Steve and your family.

We'll be leaving in the morning for a dis mini meet. Meeting them at EPCOT for the wine and cheese festival. Meeting up with some fellow cruisers from the 11 nights in Paradise. Folks from Wyoming, Wisconsin and fellow Floridians. Isn't it amazing how the Dis can bring us all together. :sunny:
Take care all.

Kamy - I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my grandmother last summer and she really raised me (much more than my own mother). My thoughts and prayers are with you....

Too much time on my hands???? Well... it did seem be getting sort of slippery with all the lotion ... oh!!! ... were you referring to the graphic? I actually didn't MAKE that congratuatory 500th graphic! I just ran a google image search and randomly selected one of several hundred responses to post. Total time might have been a couple minutes to put together... then if I edited it then that could have been another 1 to 3 minutes.

I have about as much time as anyone who has to help with kids, and develope a home addition layout/concept (we already have one but we are pouring over the details and general game plan for rennovating the house... and run a modest business I've had for about 15+ years). So... I am moderately busy and ... I draft pretty fast - or so my spouse says - as I've done a lot of her writing since we met in college 22 years ago! She hates to write but she is quite sharp in other matters - especially with numbers and science since she was on her old schools' academic team - and she was one of "those" sort who always threw the curve in the tough science classes. You kno.... like the calculus or organic chemistry exams where the vast majority of kids would barely score 10-20% correct and a couple of kids would score 95-98% and throw the curve. So yeah... when I compare my general academic potential and performance next to hers' I must look like a chimpanzee with bad flea problem. Yup...

So ... I do have SOME time on my hands but not an inordinate amount IMHO.

I don't know about anyone else but I have been so busy I even missed my Grandson's birthday dinner. I worked both Saturday and Sunday. It was great to see a post and I hope most of you had a peaceful and enjoyable week-end. :happytv: :moped: :artist: I can't say I had an enjoyable one but it was productive. And that in itself is awesome. Vacation is yet another day closer. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Write more later, Lois

Ok, Ok, Ok....just kidding. We are working on our house too. We got done putting in wood laminate floors throughout most of our house. Now we are switching out all of our fake woods doors to white six panel. We are also changing out all the trim and baseboards to white too. I will be having no time in a couple of days. Starting Tuesday I will be working 11 days straight. 12 hour shifts to boot. Working in IT can be a pain once in a while. I will still be able to Dis at work though. :thumbsup2

We're knocking around the layout of an addition to the master bedroom and living room... combined with a rearrangement for the existing master bedroom/bath and closet. We're no where near deciding on trim moulding, door options or base-boards yet. We have so many things on our table to work through I wonder if we'll ever get to the end of before our kids finish growing up! LOL! Well... I do know we've been deferring some of the demodeling until the kids get beyond an assumed minimum age where random destruction might occur. My younger one was caught one day when she was very young drawing on the outside of my Lexus door - scratching it in the process. And then she took a crayon to the back of the Lexus seats and head liner while in her car seat. I was driving when this happened.... and NOT very happy about it when I got a look at what had happened.

Soooo.... we're sort of thinking we'll wait a little bit before we redo the floors and carpets 'round here. Not that we've had any problems with THAT yet... but just in case if ya know what I mean. :confused3
