Hello!

So what is everyone doing this weekend?

Tomorrow we are going to the Door Way of Dreams presentation. I am kind of excited. I get my Disney fix. So I am hoping that we do not get the snow they are talking about. It will create quite a mess. We are only 20 minutes away but if we get the snow I am sure we are looking at about 45 minutes if we can get out of the drive. They are saying 2 to 4 inches after 11:00PM. We will see.

Someone posted the incentives on the DVC part of the board and they sure look good. Below are the offers. I like the Mary Poppins tickets. I know we can’t do it so I am hoping this is the time for my DS. Also, I like the no payments till May.

The presentation was nice. Got my Disney fix which should last me until I go to VB the end of March.

Kids: There was a place to store your kids where they played games, coloring books, video, etc. during the presentation. Afterwards the 2 mice, Aladin, Genie, and Tinker Bell came out. There was a dance party with refreshments. If you are bringing kids, don't forget your camera. Absolutely no lines for any pictures. Of course, this was a school night...probably more kids for the upcoming events.

Big push on how great RCI is with all its destinations, etc. I won't comment on this further. Also the typical Adventures by Disney, DCL, etc. Talk about the treehouses and BLT.

Giveaways: Everybody got a folder with a pad of paper in it, together with a pen. Inside it was a RCI point chart with the nightly points as well. I don't recall seeing this on dvcmember.com, but maybe I missed it. We also got a passport holder, 2 luggage tags, kid's type binoculars that seemed pretty good, a fancy rice crispy cookie.

The giveaway was a 7 night, 2bedroom, RCI exchange. They gave away 1 of these.

Here's the deals:

All points are $112 - $5 = $107. Everything was, of course, BLT.
No closing costs.
If you finance, first payment isn't due until May.
Minimum Purchase 100 points.
No Developer points.

If you buy 100 points you get a 3 day cruise for 4. I wrote down 3 day, but I think it might have been 3 night. Also you get 2 tickets to Mary Poppins which is opening in Chicago next month.

If you buy 160 points you get a 4 night cruise for 4 plus 7 night 2 bedroom RCI exchange, plus 2 Mary Poppins tickets

If you buy 200 points you get a 7 night cruise for 4, 7 night 2 bedroom RCI exchange, plus 4 Mary Poppins tickets.

If you buy 270 points you get an Adventurers by Disney trip. I think it is for 2, but I didn't write that down. You also get a 7 night 2 bedroom RCI exchange and 4 Mary Poppins tickets.

Member Gallery Update!

I didn't get these done yesterday but did get them finished up with morning. Please welcome the following families:

Mike (aka miker1251) says he's mostly a lurker and reader. Hey Mike we don't bite - come post with us and let us get to know you! Mike will be sharing one room with his two grandsons Grant & Ethan. In an adjoining room with be his step daughter Shiloh and her DH Patrick. What a great looking family. Welcome aboard Mike!

Ellen (ehagerty) and her DH Tom will also be joining us. They were with us on the 2008 Member Cruise. Ellen is an accomplished photographer and they are both very sweet people. They are currently listed as late seating but are hoping to get early.

Good morning everyone - happy Friday!

Kelly - great news about Courtney getting her bigger cast off. I'm sure those two weeks she needs the wrist cast on will go by quickly and she'll be cast free!

Flo - have fun at the Doorway to Dreams event. Kelly are you going too? We enjoyed the one we went to when it first opened but haven't been to one since (except the small DIS meet where Flo and I met). Interesting that they have Mary Poppins tickets as one of the incentives. We aren't in the market to add on, but we do have tickets for Mary Poppins. Really looking forward to seeing that on Stage. Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins) was on last years Member Cruise and I really enjoyed her performance!

No big plans for us this weekend. Of course with the snow Mark may have to go plow. I'm going to try and get out to the grocery store with him this week. I drove for the first time by myself yesterday. Went to the doctor for a blood check and then to the pharmacy. It wasn't a long drive but it felt good to be able to do it.

This weekend we will be busy with kids. Brooke has a basketball tournament and Becca has a show choir performance. Plus the girls and DH are all stuffed up with head colds. Just hope I don't get it. I usually don't. Makes them all mad that I don't get sick very often. DH says I can't cuz I have to take care of all of them. Oh, well.

Any type of office work:
Customer Service, Clerical, General Office, I have done AP/AR and worked for an insurance company.

At this point I just want to work. I don't like sittig around. I did things for the Fish extender but that is now done. And so are my scrap books.

Dh and DS have been sick also. I have not gotten it either and I hope I don't. DH even stayed home for 2 1/2 days last week. I know he is scik because he did not drink coffee for about a week. He just started dringing it yesterday again.

Hope your Dh and DD's feel better soon.

Flo - thanks for the good wishes for the family. Becca was feeling pretty poor this morning. I stuffed some medicine down her and hope she feels better by tomorrow because she is one of the strongest singers for her show choir. And she has to go!

I don't blame you for hating sitting around. A little while would be fine but long term, it would start to stink. So my fingers are crossed for you.

I hope the weather misses you guys in Illinois for the most part. But it doesn't sound like it is going to. We are only supposed to get flurries out of that system today. Maybe an inch or two. But I see from Eastern Iowa into Illinois that there is a winter storm warning. Bummer. Can't winter just be over with already. I'm so sick of the snow and cold. I'm ready for green grass and flowers!
