It is available from the resort to the port but you have to pay for it. We did that in 2006. But from the airport to the resort the ME is still free. That is right now that could change one never knows.

Good morning everyone - happy Friday! My you were a chatty group last night though that happens near pirate time. BTW one rule that Gary put in place last year which I think is a good one is that Pirates and Swans should be gathered by regular chatting not post after post by the same person. Takes away a bit of the fun. Last time we had some overnight who would post 20 or more posts in a row. It really is a lot more fun when it comes as a surprise or with 2-3 people chatting back and forth trying to get it. PSA over.

I think we are all in.

It'll be me - Ted, DW Karen and if it works out, DD Alexandra who'll be 14 at the time.

How many folks show up at the BCV Solarium meet? We may be staying there pre/ post trip, even though AKV and SSR are our home resorts.

We usually get between 20-30 people. In 2006 it was a much larger group. All depends on who is in the area. It is a nice time to mix and mingle with your fellow DISers. Last year one of the DISers even organized a dinner at Cape May for about 20 of us.

Does any body know why the Cat 1 & 2 suites are not available for booking on this cruise? Does this happen on every member cruise?

In the past the Cat 1's have been used for parties by DVC. Not sure if they did that last year or not. As for the Cat 2's I imagine they either are using those for the guests or possibly for upper management at DVC to use as staging areas, meetings etc.

Is anyone planning on doing tshirts with the logo?

No one has organized t-shirts for this year. We did have group t-shirts in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 one of the DISers set up a no profit CafePress site for the group which worked really well. In fact the picture at the top of the group web page is what we had on the back of those shirts (with the correct dates of course). Of course people do sometimes design their own with iron ons etc.

Am I correct in assuming that that beyond the DVC gifts, that there are other special items, like pins & posters done by and for sale by DCL for this event?

Last year DVC had t-shirts, button down shirts, insulated cups and pins.

Other years were t-shirts, polo shirts, pins and even a carry bag.

Do they do special menus for this cruise?

Not really but they sometimes have special touches on the desserts.

Do they do any concierge only events on the member cruise?

Is CC decorated specially for the member cruise? Any special events, drinks or food options on CC days?

There is usually banners around the island and on the 2nd CC day they take a group picture on the boat beach (which you then get as one of your gifts).

Has anybody started a kids meet thread for the cruise or are there too few kids on the member cruise to make it worth while?

Not that I know of I think because there are fewer kids.

Hay I just noticed that we are on Page 100.

Okay, so I have figured out that we will have enough points (especially since I added on to AKV) for us to stay at Disney a day or two before we set sail. Once we fly into Orlando, will we be able to use the ME to take us to our resort?

You are correct. ME is from the hotel to the airport only. Your options to the port are the DCL bus for which you pay, rental car, town car or the party bus.

Just stopping in to say Happy Friday Everyone!!!! Haven't been on for a few days, boy you guys are chatty. It is fun to ready everyone's posts.

Just a little bit about taking kids out of school, we have taken ours out for the last few years. Right now they are 15 and 12, so a sophomore and a 7th grader. It is getting harder the older they get because of all the activities they are in. Not the academics of it but the extracurricular activities they are in. So for the members cruise, it is just me and DH We are calling it our anniversary present because our anniversary is in September. The kids are disappointed about not going but, mom and dad need some time together and this is the perfect cruise to do that on. I am sooooo looking forward to it.

We do the same thing now, travel without kids, as our anniversary is in Sept. as well. It works out well, as there are less kids on this cruise anyway and our kids used to hang with us if there wasn't anyone in their age groups. We told them 2 years ago that the members cruise will be a Mom and Dad cruise from now on! (We do take them on another cruise to make up for it!)
