You don't have to - they give you one as a gift that night*. Which is why I don't see why more want to be a part of it. Why would I want a picture that I'm not in?


*we did have to buy it on the '03 cruise but it has been a gift every year since then.

It is not a weakness it is a part of life. I would not mind sharing


I will admit I like cruise with my point.

But my favorite was this last February when we spent a week at SSR. Let me back we were out there because my son played college baseball and his tournament last year was in Lake Mary (40 minutes away). We were there for a week and they only played 3 days. It was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. We were right by downtown Disney. We walked there at least once a day. Sat by the water and listened to my I pod and read. We did not even go to the parks. It was great.

For me it is a hard one so I'll split it between 2.

1) Favorite vacation where we used points was our first DVC stay. It was Boardwalk in December of 2000. We had booked a one bedroom preferred view (this was before you could designate a dedicated boardwalk view). We walked in and that is what we had - a boardwalk view! It was wonderful. I knew then and there we had made the right decision.

2) Favorite vacation with DVC not using points was our trip to Hawaii last year. On the 2006 Member Cruise we attended the sales presentation and Mark was the grand prize winner of a week long trade out with II. Since we were planning on going to Hawaii anyway (had already booked it through AA vacations) we picked Ko Olina on Oahu and got the trade into a studio. It was a fantastic week. So great in fact that we almost bought into Marriott then found out DVC was building there!

Mary, I know you're right about wanting to buy into Ko Olina; that will be a major temptation. We'll have to see what happens w/the economy.

Best trip to DVC was a few years ago we, My wife and I took our boys (twins age 15 ) and 3 of their friends (twins age 16 and one other friend age 16)

We did a 2 bedroom at beach club and it was great fun. The teens were so lively and fun or energy!

Hard a tough night last night. I had my second procedure and will know within a week if this one will work or not. I am optimistic that it will work and I'll be feeling better every day!

I have enjoyed looking at everyone's little things in their signature and was wondering what everybody's favourite vacation has been through the DVC?

Curiousity is one of my weaknesses...

I don't have my vacations in my signature yet, but I would like to reply. It is hard to say because our honeymoon in 1990 will be as memorable as ever. It was our first cruise, on the BIG RED BOAT, and our first time to Disney World. I do say, I think that has been my favorite ship to sail on. It was small and very elegant. And at the time it was the Disney boat because all the characters were on it. That just started our addiction.

We took our girls there for their first trip in 2000. They were 7 and 4. What fun to see it through little ones eyes. We were staying at Shades of Green because my DH is, or was at the time, full time military. He has since retired with 26 years in the Iowa National Guard. Our special memories from that was scaring Brooke, 4, on the first ride we went on, Snow White, and had a hard time getting her to go on any others. But we usually got her talked in to going and today she is a ride freak. Loves them all! Our other memory is that we were in the building to the right when you come in the MK, can't remember the name, and we were walking around and there were characters in there. My DH was trying to get my attention because Cinderella was sitting on some steps all by herself. We got the girls over to her before anyone else noticed and I got some very nice photos. How special for them.

Our next trip back was in 2005. We went for two weeks We started at Shades of Green for a week then went on an Eastern Carribean Disney cruise. (This is also when we bought in to DVC at SSR! Best thing we have ever done!) This was our first time to experience Halloween at Disney and loved it. We have been back every year since. This was also our girls' first cruise. Now they love to cruise and are upset that we are doing the members cruise without them this time. But, it is time for mom and dad to have a vacation for themselves.

We took my sister and her kids in March of 2006, stayed at SSR in a two bedroom suite and had a blast. This was their first trip to Disney and we were so happy to share it with them.

We have been there many times since, but these are my most favorite I think. It is hard because Disney is our happy place. We just can't wait to go again. Which is in June for Star Wars ! Then the Members Cruise in Sept!
