The list over there is growing, is there any way to verify the account without a mobile phone to have the confirmation texted too?

I haven't quite figured that out yet. I'm still trying to add friends correctly. My next task is to try to add Facebook to my iphone.

Good morning everyone - happy Sunday!

I'm still pretty new at most of the facebook stuff as well. I'm pretty sure the friend thing is a two step process. You have to ask to be a friend (or ask someone to be your friend) and then you have to accept or be accepted. Once that is done you can see their profile and they can see yours.

For both Robbie and Ted I did the suggest a friend which sent a message to those of my friends who are on SSMC09 that they might want to add them as a friend.

Hope I did all that right.

Well, we too got our confirmation today and now it's a long wait for any other news or documentation. The member web site insert said that there will be info coming up next spring. Do we have to wait that long?

Also I don't feel so bad that we are leaving our kids behind knowing that there are alot of kids probably planning parties while we are out cruising.

I would think Spring would be the earliest we would know the theme and a hint at guests. DVC likes to keep most of that a secret until we board the ship.

The think I don't understand is why they can't at least update the web page to talk about 2009. If you are going to put a buckslip in with the confirmations talking about the web page at least have it talking about 2009 and how the 2008 cruise is still a ways away.

I like the fact that DVC went to a dedicated web page instead of the e-mails that we used to get every 2-3 months but what good is it if it isn't at least updated.

Hey Mary - I am indeed getting to know them and having fun, but there is soemthing about not being with DVCers that is different.

Yes. I just didn't set it up correctly so I keep getting errors. I hope to see DS in a few weeks and he works for Apple so he is going to take a look at my iPhone beause I've had a few other issues with it like losing my calendar with all of my appointments on it for no apparent reason!

Annmarie, Do you sync your calendar at all? If yes: What calendar are you trying to sync with? Do you use a Mac or PC? Do you use google calendar?

I had some syncing issues on my mac with mobile me and google calendar, didn't get it fixed until I used busymac.

Just wanted to share. We are cleaning the basement (going through boxes my DS want exercise equipment) and guess what I found. A DVC pamphlet from 11-1992 that said Introducing Disney Vacation Club... The map on the back still had Discovery Island and River Country (I miss that). The map at that time did not even have a DVC resort on it. Is that when DVC started? I can’t remember.

I have not gotten my confirmation yet which is sadening. I do thing that weeks sounds better then days. I have a counter on my laptop and it says like 300 days which is way too long! I have facebook, what is everyone doing over there? anyone feel like getting me in the loop?...also, anyone know why all my stuff in my signature doesn't show up? it does when i preview it.

That seems way early but it is possible they had preliminary brochures out. DVC first opened in late 1991.

Most of the planning will still happen here as many DIS members don't have facebook (my DH for example). You can always stay up to date by reading the first post in the thread as we update there as needed. Some of us are just enjoying facebook as well. I hope you'll add me as a friend over there.
